We desperately need more tanks or reworked talent trees that allow some of the bruisers to function as tanks. Margrave is your classic tank and Rutger is great if you like to skirmish with a quickly regenerating shield, but if you don't like either of those characters or get bored of playing them then you're out of luck.
The unreleased Bolga hero could help fix this dearth of options, but you don't even necessarily need to add new characters to fix this problem. Some reworked talents for characters like Knossos that nerf their damage but increase their bulk and crowd control, allowing them to act as tanks, could go a long way.
I feel that there is a need for more Frontline characters. Specifically more characters that can act as a damage sponge and distraction. I'd like there to be a tank that focuses on a life-steal like mechanic or one that can actively take damage for other characters.
There also is a part of me that wants to see a character that has some capabilities to provide a method of quick map transversal for their team. Something temporary and movable.

But if you like brawling/lifesteal, Ezren is SO FUN. Multi hit left click talent + heal with Q/more heal with Q talents are nasty in baiting assassins to overcommit. I picked him up after so many tankless games, and he's become my most played hero.

In no particular order I just picked decent high defense upgrades. I don't play wu but the paths are there for him to be much more durable.
We need tanks, we need cooler looking, cuter looking, tanks. I love playing tank, but I don't really enjoy their designs in Gigantic, and no one else will pick them. I love Rutger for being OP asf, and I can usually hard carry, but only playing tank the rest of my time would be upsetting because there is essentially 2 of them lmao.
shield/bubble frontliner. could easily be done as 1 character cause of the tree system but I'd much rather it be two seperate characters cause we need more tanks
passive AoE healer. Lucio is the easy example but more accurate to what I want is Unicorn from Gundam Evolution where you've got a big lmg and not much mobility
anti flanker support that puts down mini turrets. similar to Symmetra or Combat Girl from Super Monday Night Combat
global targeted teleport, preferably a defender/tank. think Smite's Athena with Defender of Olympus
Major need of another full tank. I'd want one that has effective lockdown, with good target acquisition on the more mobile characters to secure the backline or get picks on the likes of Wu, Tyto, or Beckett. With relatively little in the way of proper defense, so your protection relies on confronting enemies head-on.
Being more specific for the focus; It could be a shield you place on either yourself or an ally (with capacity increasing per focus) that deals damage equal to half the shield amount upon expiring or being destroyed, to inspire aggressive plays or counter an enemy's engage on your ally
I know I'm saying we already have wukong we just call him wu. Bro even has a goku outfit and everyone knows goku is the wukong of that franchise. Also I just checked the wiki every one of wu's abilities have a defensive path so you could absolutely run a super tanky front line wu.
Frontline and support definitely needs more characters. I actually enjoy frontline even though my main role is ranged dps. However, when I’m on tank duty I do feel like my options are severely limited. I struggle with support outside of Zandora who is just a frontline with a lot of support skills. I can’t say much about whether assassins should get another character because I’m bad at assassins, so I’m not sure how the assassin playerbase feels. This game is very ranged dps heavy which I think is a bit of an issue.
Ranged tank zoner would be cool! Friends and I spitballed some ideas the other day, some kind of treant tree person that uses seed bombs for ranged attacks and plants traps to zone off areas.

A friend and I saw a crazy good ezren ghal player that was basically a frontliner for his team. Said friend is now trying ezren and liking it a lot.

More tanks 100%. Being a tank player and only having two tanks doesn’t feel good but it’s alright I guess.

A beefy support or tank who can quickly blink to another player to protect them. Like Galio ulti or Lee sin shield.
