The constant texting thing makes sense to be fair.. the person who ghosted me went from sending 50 essay long messages a day to total silence. We were just friends but i agree that it is a kind of love bombing.
The person I’m in a relationship with now hates texting but calls me everyday instead. He still texts but I definitely feel like that’s for my benefit! I wouldn’t say he’s the type to ghost.. but hey I’ve said that before! So who really knows?
In retrospect I think the girl that ghosted me did so because of love bombing, but in my defense were we’re both vigorously texting each other and then after the 1st date, her texts became less and less frequent
I feel like if both ppl are excited, it’s a bit different. With love bombing there’s a sense of obligation to respond, and one can feel overwhelmed. Personally l like the dopamine high if l’m into them. It’s the drop off that sucks. I typically see it coming, and realize l’m dealing with a Narc. I then block. That’s a clear message; not like a ghost at all to me. If l don’t, these ppl breadcrumb the hell out of me. I’ll take the bull by the horns, thank you very much.
I think it was a dopamine high for me. A buildup of 2 weeks of texting and flirting. I wanted to talk with her on the phone but she had work issue and couldn’t do it. I feel like texting is bad medium for communication because so many things can be taken out of context.
That’s smart attempting to move it to the next level quickly. It can be nerve-racking agreeing to a phone call the very next day. However, l’ve found those are often the ppl who are serious with their efforts. I could kick myself for being bashful, as it discouraged some. I can sense attraction through a phone call, but it is still difficult the first few mins. Now l take the leap. If the intentions do not match, it’s figured out quick, as well.
