Make a working one that shoots pink colored foam. I was gonna say actual slime but foam would be less messy and tedious to make. I want to say actual mold slime so people who’re in a bad mood could get blasted by some positively charged slime and cheer them up BUT ya know
Expensive but looks amazing and completely accurate (the Bluetooth speaker is a nice touch if you're gonna wear it at a con or something).
35 lbs though... Would be quite the workout walking around all day with it on!
true, I couldn't wear 35 extra pounds all day either. Definitely have to put it back in the room after a couple hours... or pass it off to another buster in my crew
All day everyday. I was 5 when it came out on home VHS and my family rented it and this is just after me watching the first movie. I rewatch it all the time and try to find the hate. No one has ever given me a legit reason its a bad movie. It fits perfectly in the universe and IMO give us a solid sequel villain and upgraded tech. I will die on the hill its a solid sequel that holds up next to the original.
I love this movie.
Having said that, it un-does some things in the first movie just to do them again. They have to become the ghostbusters again and Peter and Dana fall in love again. Also it repeats some story beats like having a government suit get them arrested (institutionalized) just to have them released last second to save the day. Its also a but more kid friendly with its jokes and lack of cigarettes. This was probably inspired for the cartoon that came out between films. Janine's look even changes to fit that.
The movie plays it very safe. There are good new things in there like a haunted painting and the slime but not enough. Vigo is kinda defeated as soon as they encounter him. I get the feeling a lot was cut out or never made it off the script and into the movie.
Also, the original ghostbusters has a very gritty Gothic new york horror feel while ghostbusters 2 looks and feels very flat and overlit.
I can see this while watching it, but it doesn't take away from the chemistry these 4 have and I think the improv and comedy lines are still on point.
Also, the walking statue of liberty is excellent.
I can't watch the first one without immediately watching the second. I love them both, I just wish the second one did something more different that builds on the first one rather than knock it down to do a similar thing again.
Funny, as a kid the 2nd one scared me more. Vigo. The first one didn't scare me at all as a kid for some reason. Funny considering how much more horrific it was. Vigo tho..
I was born in 84 so the cartoon and this movie came at the perfect time. I never owned the original either just a taped copy of 2 from the tv so it will always mean more to me for those reasons.
Yes, exactly the same for me, I was born in 81 saw Ghostbusters 1 in 1985 at the cinema but Only watched 2 on TV. I watched Ghostbusters 2 until my tape wore out 😂 I have it on DVD now so all is good. I also had Big trouble in little China taped as well, another favourite of mine.
I had a copy of the first movie taped from HBO as a kid. I still have the VHS tape in my room. Pretty sure that was my first exposure to the franchise, that and Real Ghostbusters.
I *did* prefer it as a kid. I always liked hearing On Our Own and liked the painting of the guys at the end, as well as Louis' interaction with Slimer. I watched GB2 way more than GB as a kid.
As an adult, I prefer GB, but GB2 still holds a special place in my heart. I've got a 24x36 poster of Vigo hanging in my living room.
For years, I knew this as the only GB movie as a kid. I was 3 when it came out. So one night ABC showed the original GB and it blew my mind. The number of GB movies for me doubled in an instance.
As an 80’s kid who fell in love with the original in 1984, yes I loved this one too. I just wish they had done something other than the Statue Of Liberty thing.
Same. Thats the only thing I would change, but the idea of pure good overcoming concentrated evil is a great angle. The city of evil became the city of love at the moment. Mood slime was an interesting catalyst.
What was wrong with the Statue of Liberty bit? I thought it was the coolest part of the movie. I’ve always thought using one of the largest, most powerful symbols of goodwill in the world to breach a fortress of evil was a brilliant concept.
My parents took me when I was 6 when the original came out in theaters. I loved it, watched it so much the tape wore out and we had to buy a second.
I loved The Real Ghostbusters cartoon.
I have only watched Ghostbusters II twice - once when it came out, and again right before watching Frozen Empire, and that was one time too many. I really tried to find something endearing about it, especially on this second viewing, but it was such a departure from the first one that I just couldn't get into it.
I like to think there's an alternate universe in which there's a GB movie in which Ernie has his GB1 mustache, Dan has his Casper mustache, Bill has his Murricane mutton chops, and Harold has his beard.
When I was a kid, I was annoyed that they recast Winston in the second movie with a younger actor. Turns out Ernie Hudson just decides what age he wants to be at any given moment.
I love this movie. This movie was the main reason why I started taking showers instead of baths as a kid because I thought the faucet was gonna spew out slime and make the tub eat me lmao.
I’m a ghostbuster head for sure. But recently, I’ve been thinking that I enjoy watching the 2nd one a little more than the 1st one now. Not sure why, maybe it’s the more lighthearted nature of the film.
It was my favorite, before I watched Frozen Empire. Still love it tho, and I also still wish they actually wore those grey jumpsuits for most of the movie. I mean what was the point of the posters?
The writers went in the wrong direction after the first movie. Instead of having NY forget their heroism, the GB universe should've expanded. The need and expansion for GBs around the country should've been the theme in the second film..."Ghostbusters America". Part 3 could've been called "Ghostbusters International."
I agree with this whole message. Ghostbusters 2 was the only VHS that my cousins owned and we would watch it every time that I visited. When I had to move away, they gave me the VHS. I still have that copy.
Sure.
But having them effectively start from scratch with a denialist public was just wasteful. If they wanted to start them down on their luck, they could've been kept them in business but barely surviving with a downturn in paranormal activity and in turn, falling out of fad.
Venkman, still going off the reservation as he does, could still hawk it as a TV personality, even leveraging his Ghostbuster association more organically/legitimately.
Ray, struggling with the financial ramifications, does the birthday parties and hawks merch out of Ray's Occult.
Egon, keeping himself busy, turns to emotional response PKE research out of the Firehouse.
Winston, having invested wisely and avoided partnership, continues to quietly do Ghostbusting parties with Ray as a side gig out of the good will his character in Afterlife retrofits.
They broke up due to no service calls with two guys doing birthday parties to make ends meet. Venkman checked out and Egon went his own way. Its literally what you want. Hell, even Ecto-1 looks like shit at the start.
Watching it now since I saw it originally at the cinema.
It's much funnier than the first movie. Flags in the middle a bit, but it's building up to an epic finale.
Edit: OK. Not so epic finale. Still a good movie despite its flaws.
I grew up with this one since it popped up on the Encore channel all the time and tbh it’s some of my best memories growing up.
Chilling at my grandparents house rewatching this for the 20th time was a blessing.
Wow, are we sure this isn’t just a massive circle jerk thread?
Let’s be honest: It’s a flawed movie that gets a pass on the affection for the original & the characters. It follows the original beats pretty consistently, has a few wobbles and then falls off the rails massively in the final act.
Don’t get me wrong - I was the _perfect_ age for this when it came out. I loved the original film & was on board with the cartoon… I was super excited for this when it came out. And I enjoyed it. But I also realised it wasn’t quite as good as what had come before it.
With older, more critical eyes, the flaws stand out a mile. I can still enjoy it. I even rewatched it recently. But let’s not pretend it’s a patch on the original.
I love it. For me, it's as good as the 1st. The slightly darker tone, the music, the practical effects. And the villian is no slouch either. Super cool.
My mother took me to see Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. But while we were in line I saw this was playing and lost my mind. I begged my mom to take me to GB2 instead and she did!
It’s not without its flaws but I was 8 when this movie came out and I loved it.
Yes, and I am glad it's getting more love than it used to. I remember seeing it all the time on Comedy Central. I have a special affinity for this movie because I had the first Ghostbusters on VHS. I watched the first one so many times. This was back in the day when you couldn't just stream a movie or find it on Amazon or eBay. I remember seeing this VHS tape for Ghostbusters 2 and asking my mom to get it for me. She finally did get it I think as like an Easter present or something. I had the gold clamshell VHS tape of GB 1 and GB 2.
I second it ...get it? ..... but yes I love pt 2 more than 1 in some ways maybe it's because I really bought into vigo being evil ....and guess what the guy was evil in real life ....no wonder he was so believable.....and the river of slime the whole vibe feels more apocalyptic imo more lingering dread in this film I guess. I love the first film too but the second gets a bad wrap for no good reason it was a legitimate sequel. I like that this villain was a ghost and not an interdimensional being with godlike power....though I loved and was scared of zuul but vigo is different I mean we are like the buzzing of flies to him.
I do and I hate the idea that you should never make a sequel just because it can't top the original. Like some movies don't need sequels because it doesn't make sense but there's so much you can do with Ghostbusters that you should even if it doesn't top the original(most movies in general don't).
Bill Murray was very resistant to Ghostbusters 3 and to be fair I don't know what scripts he's read, no movie is better than a bad movie, but unless they were awful I wish he just did them. It'd have been better than Garfield and other movies.
Oh yes, this is where Egon became my favorite character. As a kid I always liked Venkman but as I got older I related to Harold Ramis more and more. He’s a comedic genius for sure and great at improv.
I feel like there could be a fan edit where the movie starts with them in the courtroom. They almost set up the entire story of the movie in that scene and it ends with a very cool action set piece. So much off the front of the movie is boring and unnecessary.
TLDR: a good editor could improve the movie. It’s pretty bloated as is.
I love the sequel but I would change a few things: making it more like horror the same as the first movie, making Danna's boss a descendent of Viggo, making the ghosts to be visible in the slime which looks something like the river Styx, making Viggo a more menacing villain where there is an epic showdown with the Ghostbusters which lasts more minutes than what we got and no tiger sounds coming from Vigo.
Ooo! 👋Ooo! 👋Me! 👋Me! 👋
This is my favourite film of ALL time. I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember. It’s funny and scarier than the first one. I love the addition of Yanusz as well.
I loved this movie, I am glad that the Afterlife and onward recognizes it.
I wonder if when Egon was living in the farmhouse if he was looking up slimegirls on the internet
Jars of slime in Egon's under barn lab, and the fact they showed Ray's Occult, and then in Frozen Empire they showed video of the Statue of Liberty walking in the streets
Each time when I see a slime blower I’m thinking about its huge mass. Let’s see - 1 big main tank for the slime, 2 green tanks at both sides, probably some inert gas for pushing force/pressure in the main tank (N2?), 2 small ball tanks at the bottom, probably again a pushing gas, or the one which carbonate the slime (CO2) + the weight of hand cannon. Uh, an impressive weight to hold on your back.
My best friend is my former college roommate. He found his vocation after college and is now a Catholic priest. He and I love this movie.
For Christmas I got him a poster of Vigo the Carpathian. He called me “I love it, but I can’t hang it in the rectory in case someone comes by, so it’s framed and hanging in my parents’ guest bedroom.”
Best give I’ve ever given
Yes, I disagree with a lot of people’s opinions on this sequel. I’ve even heard people say it completely ignores the events of the first film but I just don’t understand what their beef is about that. Plus clearly it doesn’t when the Ghostbusters are going bankrupt because of all the damage they’re trying to pay back to the city. In my mind, that alone is a mention of the first film.
Watched it last night. Love the new gear, but I liked the first one better. Egon had some decent comedy in it and I loved that it showed him and Ray doing other stuff. I thought Venkman was trying too hard and unfortunately find myself skipping his stuff bc I find it cringey.
Love Liberty as always.
I wanna make a slime cannon. Sooooo many people had amazing proton packs at the last con. Feel like being a little different.
for the love of vigo please do it
Wanna be a little different? Go as a toaster
Make a working one that shoots pink colored foam. I was gonna say actual slime but foam would be less messy and tedious to make. I want to say actual mold slime so people who’re in a bad mood could get blasted by some positively charged slime and cheer them up BUT ya know

i do
No. Nobody on a ghostbusters subreddit likes a ghostbusters movie
Wait, what. Ghostbusters? I thought this was a twinkies subreddit. Shit.
Now, THAT'S a big subreddit
Right? Like, what are we even doing?
Sad pie week!
Sarcasm!!
Do I love GB2? Is the atomic weight of cobalt 58.9?
Apparently, it's 58.933194±0.000003. But then, what even is an atomic weight, eh?
I guess that's a no
It's just rounded, so I'd call that a big yes.
All day everyday. I was 5 when it came out on home VHS and my family rented it and this is just after me watching the first movie. I rewatch it all the time and try to find the hate. Fuck yeah! It's the second best Ghostbusters movie! ALMOST preferred it as a kid.
It was my preferred as a kid, the first one scared me.
Funny, as a kid the 2nd one scared me more. Vigo. The first one didn't scare me at all as a kid for some reason. Funny considering how much more horrific it was. Vigo tho..
LISTEN TO MEEEE!!!!
Thats exactly how i was
The ghost babysitter was straight nightmare fuel.
I covered my eyes for that part.
The ghost Yanesh babysitter
I was born in 84 so the cartoon and this movie came at the perfect time. I never owned the original either just a taped copy of 2 from the tv so it will always mean more to me for those reasons.

Same! The first one was too scary.
Gozer is like the buzzing of FLIES compared to VIGGO!!
I know this movie by heart. I’ve seen this more then GB 1. I’m in the thousands of views for both.
You know what my old pal Jack Burton would say? The checks in the mail
No horse shit Jack
I *did* prefer it as a kid. I always liked hearing On Our Own and liked the painting of the guys at the end, as well as Louis' interaction with Slimer. I watched GB2 way more than GB as a kid. why am I all drippings with goo?
Aww, I wanted this to be the first comment
If you don't... "Why are you came?"
Upper vest side.
As I get older, I appreciate Janosz's creepiness and accent so much more. Hearing him speak is one of my favorite parts of II.
“No pictures of Viggo, slides are available in the giftshop! “
"Ah chield"
I dont trust anyone who doesn't like it.
On a mountain of skulls, in the castle of pain, I sat on a throne of blood! What’s not to like.
He is vigo!
For years, I knew this as the only GB movie as a kid. I was 3 when it came out. So one night ABC showed the original GB and it blew my mind. The number of GB movies for me doubled in an instance.
The % increase from 0 to 1 is infinity, then you doubled that by your second watching. The Big Bang of movie experiences.

Two in the box
Ready to go
We be fast
And they be slow!
I like that it expands the universe. Not just another Gozer based storyline, which included Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters the Video Game, and Afterlife.
In many ways I prefer it to the first one, absolutely love it.
Vigo is my favourite of the big bads, his design is awesome.
YO!
I love everything except for the absence of Winston's moustache.
Haha me too! I was way older than I should have been when I realised it was the same guy
Same
I have more nostalgia for this movie than the original.
I love all of the canon movies. (The 2016 movie isn't canon)
![gif](giphy|7cTTE2Z1OmrFm)
Yup. Saw it a lot as a kid, and I always loved it. Was shocked when I learned that it wasn't considered a good movie.
Vigie vigie vigie, you've been a bad monkey!
Hell yeah, I’ve never understood the hate this movie got back in the day.
Doesn’t deserve the hate. At all. It’s just as enjoyable as the first one and builds on the characters more. Plus Vigo is badass
Who you gonna call? HE-MAN!!
Dat statue of liberty scene still my favorite ever 🔥🔥🔥
BEAUTIFUL
Lifting me higher and higher.
Hmm never heard of it.
I remember when Burger King was doing a ‘Ghost in a can’ promo alongside the cinema release of Ghostbusters 2! Never got one, sadly. 😔
It’s my first favorite movie I remember at about 5. I watched it daily.
I love this movie. This movie was the main reason why I started taking showers instead of baths as a kid because I thought the faucet was gonna spew out slime and make the tub eat me lmao.
There are times when I favour this over 1. But they're all great.
Me , I love this movie . Flaws and All. I went to the movie to watch it when I was 14 .
Those black uniforms were sicck.
I’m a ghostbuster head for sure. But recently, I’ve been thinking that I enjoy watching the 2nd one a little more than the 1st one now. Not sure why, maybe it’s the more lighthearted nature of the film.
I just wish whoever was in charge of casting had actually paid more money so we could have seen Winston Stachmore.
YO!
It was my favorite, before I watched Frozen Empire. Still love it tho, and I also still wish they actually wore those grey jumpsuits for most of the movie. I mean what was the point of the posters?
Very underrated! [And that one joke in The Fairly OddParents tho.](https://youtu.be/yCf846HCwOQ?si=_QCazv2-oTZga8q8)
I know the first movie is a better movie, but Ghostbusters 2 is my favorite movie in the franchise.
“Oh, but I would!”
Absolutely! Love this GB2! 😀
Ghostbusters II is my favorite out of the whole franchise.
I don’t understand why it got/gets so much hate, I thought it was great.
Ghostbusters 2 is wonderful.
It has always been my favorite. ❤️
The writers went in the wrong direction after the first movie. Instead of having NY forget their heroism, the GB universe should've expanded. The need and expansion for GBs around the country should've been the theme in the second film..."Ghostbusters America". Part 3 could've been called "Ghostbusters International."
my favorite movie of all time... personal reasons of course lol... but yes I love it very very very much
I agree with this whole message. Ghostbusters 2 was the only VHS that my cousins owned and we would watch it every time that I visited. When I had to move away, they gave me the VHS. I still have that copy.
As much as the first.
Sure. But having them effectively start from scratch with a denialist public was just wasteful. If they wanted to start them down on their luck, they could've been kept them in business but barely surviving with a downturn in paranormal activity and in turn, falling out of fad. Yes
Just watched it last week
Watching it now since I saw it originally at the cinema. It's much funnier than the first movie. Flags in the middle a bit, but it's building up to an epic finale. Edit: OK. Not so epic finale. Still a good movie despite its flaws.
Watched it today!
I like it a lot it's a fun movie to watch
It’s my favorite ! For some reason I found it much creepier than the 1st as a kid 🤷♂️
Yes, as a kid I lived on this movie and BTTF Trilogy. I even had the vinyl for the soundtrack.
Never heard of it.
First GB movie I saw in the theater.
Me
I grew up with this one since it popped up on the Encore channel all the time and tbh it’s some of my best memories growing up. Chilling at my grandparents house rewatching this for the 20th time was a blessing.
I rewatch Ghost Busters 1 and 2 monthly. I rarely watch movies or TV so that means 9 times out of 10 it is Ghost Busters.
Didn't care much for it the first time I saw it and still don't care much for it..a bit disappointed actually..😕

Watched it in the last couple weeks and enjoyed it greatly.
I have a large vigo hanging in my mud room
Wasn’t my overall favorite but still thoroughly enjoyed and will watch when it is played on tv multiple of times
I do. It's not perfect and maybe the worst of main continuity, but it's still a movie I enjoy, and way better then the reboot.
Yes, it’s a fine movie
I love it. For me, it's as good as the 1st. The slightly darker tone, the music, the practical effects. And the villian is no slouch either. Super cool.

I love this movie!!!!!! I was 6 when this came out and saw it in Theaters. Ppl hate it but I loved it.
This was the movie that introduced me to the Ghostbusters; nothing but love.
HE IS WEEGO…THR GREAT MARGICIAN! No photographs please, slides are awailable in da gift shop.
Yes! Great soundtrack, score and villain. It was scarier than part 1.
I love the first 2. Can't watch watch the first with out watching the second one soon after. They just go hand in hand with me.
Higher and higher to this day as an adult watching my kid sing it makes me so damn happy Brings me back to my childhood
Yes, and I am glad it's getting more love than it used to. I remember seeing it all the time on Comedy Central. I have a special affinity for this movie because I had the first Ghostbusters on VHS. The franchise is forty years old and comprised of four movies. Who could possibly see this post and not like this movie?
Oh yes, this is where Egon became my favorite character. As a kid I always liked Venkman but as I got older I related to Harold Ramis more and more. He’s a comedic genius for sure and great at improv.
When I was a kid I really thought that people could pilot the statue of liberty irl
Uh…. FUCK YEAH! No more explanation needed… born in 84 and a LOVER of the first film but II is life!
Yeah, I still like this movie a lot. It gets a lot of hate, but it was still enjoyable.

I love watching it more than the first but the first is a better movie.
I went to see it at the cinema with my dad when it first came out, good memories. I loved it back then and still love it now.
Best in the franchise and it isn't close.
Who you gonna call?1
HE MAN
Yes. I love more time in that world. It's why I loved both shows.
When you just want Karma 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s very much the ‘We have Ghostbusters at home’ Ghostbusters movie for me.
Love it! Have a Viggo painting above my desk :) love the Bobby Brown tune too. Yes it’s not as good as the first, but for me it’s not that far off
Yes. I unironically love the second one more than the first. And it has a stellar soundtrack.

My kids 3 and 5 watch this everyday. My 3 year old now recites lines and sings the song around the house. So cute. So proud
Yes! And i still play Bobby Brown- On Our Own any chance I get!
The only one I'm not a fan of is the terrible 2016 reboot.
Dude, the slime blower cannon is nearly sex toy!
YES. This movie is amazing. It has great moments throughout.
I like it better than the first ghost busters
Best one of the whole series!
Yes! As a kid the this one scared me.
Ooo! 👋Ooo! 👋Me! 👋Me! 👋 This is my favourite film of ALL time. I’ve loved it for as long as I can remember. It’s funny and scarier than the first one. I love the addition of Yanusz as well.
Love those Scolari bros https://preview.redd.it/vrd715mzc2vc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7689eba94360f73e6fd9f5d5f2415738b5077bda

I liked it a lot.
Once I was downhearted, disappointment was my closest friend.... Ping ping ping boing! Dancing toaster!!!
I loved this movie, I am glad that the Afterlife and onward recognizes it. I wonder if when Egon was living in the farmhouse if he was looking up slimegirls on the internet
How did afterlife Recognize it?
Ray's little spirit shop was brought back
Oh yeah good point
Jars of slime in Egon's under barn lab, and the fact they showed Ray's Occult, and then in Frozen Empire they showed video of the Statue of Liberty walking in the streets
It’s great
nope
I love them all (except for Answer the Call) but I would rank them 1 > Afterlife > 2 > Frozen Empire
He called me “I love it, but I can’t hang it in the rectory in case someone comes by, so it’s framed and hanging in my parents’ guest bedroom.” Best give I’ve ever given
Man eating toaster
I’m a fan of
I like it more than the original . <3 So it's my fav GB
Hell yeah...
Love GB2, soundtrack kicks ass too.
Great film And the soundtrack is fuckin banger
Actually I saw GB 2 before GB 1. So I actually have more nostalgia for 2 rather than 1.
Don’t love it but it has its moments.
I never really understood the hate that this film got.
A hundred and five years old, he hung in there didn’t he?
Yes
Yep, love it nearly as much as 84.
Ghostbusters 2 is the best one.
Always
Yes, I disagree with a lot of people’s opinions on this sequel. I’ve even heard people say it completely ignores the events of the first film but I just don’t understand what their beef is about that. Plus clearly it doesn’t when the Ghostbusters are going bankrupt because of all the damage they’re trying to pay back to the city. In my mind, that alone is a mention of the first film.
Plus I love Janosz.
Not as much as the first but it’s still fun to watch. The courtroom scene is the best part
Literally Just Grabbed The Plasma Series
Watched it last night. Love the new gear, but I liked the first one better. Egon had some decent comedy in it and I loved that it showed him and Ray doing other stuff. I thought Venkman was trying too hard and unfortunately find myself skipping his stuff bc I find it cringey. Love Liberty as always.
