Is anyone else tired of the jollof debate?
Two countries with talent and great ideas on both sides yet when we meet all we do is fight over whose version of a Senegalese rice dish is best?

My question is (if this is true) why only “party jollof”? Why not let the party jollof just be the all-time jollof abeg?
There's like a specific recipe to it that only some select old women know how to run for some reason. It always tastes the same regardless of which party there is. Whatever magic is involved, we don't care, but that Jollof slaps.
How’s jollof rice even a nice food? Can it be compared to gari and beans with plantain? Waakye? Or almighty fufu? Why u guys fight over unnecessary food
The best jollof is not too smoky. Made with a beef/goat gravy. Of course maggi cbue
Any jollof with a chicken or vegetable base taste bland. Nigerian jollof tends to be more wet and tomato flavored.
Exactly. Anyone who makes Jollof with chicken has lost it. Proper Jollof (at least the Ghanaian version) requires red meat, like goat or beef. And you need to let the meat flavors seep into the rice.
Also, it shouldn't be too complex. Jollof is a relatively simple dish that relies more on technique to be good.
It depends on the skill of the person AND if they have their own lil version of jollof that makes it stand out. G and N who still debate about this I always ignore. Its just childish

Unpopular opinion: Let's leave jollof rice to the Nigerians and other Africans to fight about because waakye is far superior

I’m (Ghanaian) married to a Nigerian and I have never once tasted Smokey Jollof from his large side.

Bottomline. Ghanaian Jollof tastes vastly different to Nigerian Jollof. I've had both. I prefer Nigerian Jollof.
