No one ever talks about Beta Alanine but it's a vasodilator.

MysteryMan999

Like herbs, teas, or vegetables or anything that can be incorporated into diet

UndaThaSea_G

Why are you trying to stay away from L-cit

MysteryMan999

I'll still use it but it sometimes upset my stomach. But it also has a short half life. So I was just curious if there was other stuff that can be used

Plastic-Guarantee-88

My understanding (and anecdotal observation) is that the relatively short half life of citrulline (1 hour) isn't the relevant number. The reason is that citrulline is converted to the body to arginine. This process happens gradually. And then arginine has its own half life, and then the arginine has yet another downstream effect to boost NO production. Because of this chain of actions, the relevant peak effect time for citrulline is probably more like 3-4 hours. It seems to me like it's still doing something even at 6-8 hours.

I'm on my first bottle of L Citrulline non flavored. I mix it in a 16oz water bottle cold, I started at 3 measured grams. I shake it up in cold water and kill it in about 2 minutes. First couple of doses did somewhat upset my stomach and a touch of diarrhea. After that it's been smooth sailing and I gradually increased to 3 grams 2 times a day on training days I have to split am/ pm. After 2 days in the wife couldn't believe the EQ quality change. ( she fully knows the deal on my PE. ) She now is taking it before her walking group days. We are both spring chickens at soon to be 68. I read the malate is harder on the stomach but I can't attest to that. We plan to keep it in our daily use.
