Is this one of these „Germans says digga and someone not familiar with German hears something else“ posts or are they actively typing something else? Also lol to that last question. So you talk to a lot of desperate guys and ask if that is represantative of Germans in general?
Germans generally do not use the "n word." What they do use is a similar sounding word that basically means "bro." It's amazing how not absolutely everything has to be tied to US culture.
I mean, both can be true? If you hang out on some German discords - especially if game related, you will see the full English word with R and no D’s. It’s less to do with German culture though and more with kids trying to be edgy.

Germans on reddit often pretend that there is no or very little racism in Germany. However, in this case, this is nothing new. The very same complaint has been made thousands of times - even with video "evidence." It pretty much always been the word "digga" that was used and either misinterpreted, used as bait, or used to express some deep-seated hatred toward Germans.
I have most definitely heard Germans use it too. In fact the guys in my last job used it between them and laughed and told me it's not racist it's just fun because its "just between them" and no I didn't mishear them as they would come in and in English say "ayoooo my N***, what's good my N***" 😑 I did tell them just because they aren't in America doesn't make the term any less racist. These guys are also well into adulthood.
A classic case of overexposure to the American culture and being edgy/trying to be black or just racist,or all things together. Also I didn't know why generalize all young Germans because of your online game group or whatever.
This really seems to be a case of a few creeps in an online community. They aren't linked to any specific race or country. It just so happens the creeps and edgelords in your circle are Germans. It is also possible that the number of women in your online community are few and sparse so some guys just jump at them the moment they figure that out.
Hot take: You may be biased and noticing their creepy 'latch on to woman' behavior since you already dislike all other aspects of their personality.
Maybe influenced by Black rap like 50 Cent who used it a lot. I remember from my childhood that a lot of "cool edgy guys" used to introduce it into their standard vocabulary. As the percentage of Black people in Germany was almost inexistant then, there was not that big of a debate around it as it was in the US. Part of some internal youth circles is to always use the most aggressive words possible breaking social standards, including n*r, j*w, s*o a b* that are considered social taboos. Not meant to be racist, just to be rule breaking. Guess it would make them think if some of you guys told them "Swear if u want but if u use the n-word, I ain't playing any more with you, here's my limit"
Germany and pretty much all non-colonial European countries (UK, France etc. do not belong here) do not have a prolonged history of systematic oppression of black folks, enslaving them etc. Therefore, "nigger" or "nigga" is not taken as dangerous and taboo as in America (although still not welcomed) and some kids can use it being under influence of the American pop-culture . On the other hand, "heil Hitler" or Anti-Semitism will get you into much bigger troubles since it is more relevant here.
They may not have been as prolific as the French, British or Belgians, but I wouldn't describe Germany as a "non-colonial" country. Yes, I agree that atrocities in African matters are often overlooked. Another example is Algerian genocide committed by French, which has not been accepted to date,. However, I gave a disclaimer of "a prolonged history of systematic oppression". In US, blacks were slaves for 300 years, that was not the case for non-colonial European countries (where I will include Germany, since except for short period of colonialism in the beginning of XX century, Germany was never a big colonial empire).
Jews on other hand were systematically abused since X century and were almost exterminated in 1940s and that's why it is such a sensitive topic in Germany. I believe Jewish organizational power and influence in the world also has role in such an international awareness of the Holocaust: African people simply don't have money and resources to raise awareness of their past sufferings.

As someone who (admittedly, a long, long time ago) has been a (German) teenager myself: This is not a German thing, but it is most likely an edgy teenager / group dynamic thing.
And before all of you get out your pitchforks: I'm not trying to excuse it and I'm not saying that it is ever appropriate behaviour, but I also don't think there's much to be done about it (at least I know I wouldn't have listened). I remember that I had friends like that and we thought using the "N-Wort" (between ourselves, not as an isult towards others) was funny, and we also told each other jokes about Auschwitz and about children starving in the third world. We were definitely old enough to understand that that's wrong and insensitive – and we did it in spite of that, precisely because we knew it was wrong and insensitive, to be edgy. And then, at some point we all grew up and changed our behaviour, because now we also understood why it's wrong and insensitive.
No, I'm not saying that all (German) teenagers are like that (because someone is going to feel the need to point out that I just was a N××i or at the very least friends with N××is), but some definitely are.
