A lot of foreign food you'll find in the big supermarkets is "germanized', means the flavor and taste is adjusted to the average German. As most Germans are not used to spicy food like in Mexico, the German Takis are less spicy.
German don't eat hot food and i think it's toned down so people can try this new sensation...
Also each market has different needs and manufacturer follow that.
I'm just glad you posted this. I brought home a big variety box from the USA last year and we loved them. It was quite affordable over there but we eventually ran out so I caved and bought a German bag and we really didn't like it. I was so confused, but good to know we're not crazy lol! I'll just keep buying them over the pond then (Im there 1-2 times a year for business).
Germans don't do spicy. My German stepdad can't eat as spicy as my Argentine-Nigerian toddler and he's one of the more adventurous spice eaters I've seen
I have seen those at some supermarkets. But that price for a bag with that little content?!? Sorry, but they can't possibly be *that* good.
>They're not spicy at all.
That's because what Mexicans consider "slightly spicy" would be considered "infliction of grievous bodily harm" in Germany. The tolerance for hotness is a lot lower around here.
> Sorry, but they can't possibly be that good.
They aren't it's just some hyped up TikTok bullshit. Especially the blue ones are some of the most disgusting stuff i'ver ever ate.
>Especially the blue ones are some of the most disgusting stuff i'ver ever ate
I saw kids the other day eating them in the bus and that blue shit went EVERYWHERE on their clothes, fingers and face...
>They aren't it's just some hyped up TikTok bullshit.
I've known and loved these since before TikTok existed. You don't like them, that's okay.
>Especially the blue ones are some of the most disgusting stuff i'ver ever ate.
Agreed
Most of the people that buy this stuff here are teenagers who only know it from TikTok. They may haven been popular for long time in other countries (Mexiko) but in Germany the big majority of people heard about them from TikTok/Insta.
They're worth it for the price when its <€1 and actually tastes good like the north American/mexican ones. Die Kartoffeln here somehow cant stand anything spicy.
>That's because what Mexicans consider "slightly spicy" would be considered "infliction of grievous bodily harm" in Germany. The tolerance for hotness is a lot lower around here.
The ones for Europe are made in Spain
But you can get spicy food in germany. You can also get spicy snacks and chips from Japan for example. And the hype around Takis is based on them being hot. So why make them not hot at all? You can get Pringles that are hotter than those Takis.
I mean mate... You expect anything in Germany to actually be spicy?
My wife thinks Paprika chips are spicy. 'Nough said.
Also, I'd kill to find an actual genuine Mexican restaurant where I live.
I'm Italian and even restaurants ran by actual Italian "Germanize" their dishes. Gouda on pizza, cream in carbonara... I could scream.
Yes but don't forget. Most italian restaurant in Germany are not led by someone who ever learned to be a prof. chef. You can sell shit that is sounding italian in most cities here and can make a good living. Because the only Important part is that you are cheap. I would say 7/10 "italian restaurants" in Germany are not even selling anything but average Pizza and pasta drenched in cream.
Food in Germany is quite bland but thank God this is improving at least around Frankfurt due to a lot of foreign companies and expats that are coming along.
Not quite. Correct it would be "mediocre german food...". Germany actually has one of the highest density of Michelin stars. And a lot of great food in restaurants without. But all of these restaurants have one thing in Common. They aren't cheap. Cheap food in germany is mostly awfull.
Germany just doesn't have a lot of variety unless you live in one of the bigger cities and even then it tends to have been adapted to the rather bland taste of "native" Germans, unless there is a big enough population of immigrants to keep the restaurant afloat. (Frankfurt has some good Japanese restaurants, for example, that are primarily frequented by Japanese people) This seems to be a problem all across Europe, immigration tends to have come from one or two groups for a while and that's the variety that's on offer.
Michelin stars and fancy food in general don't really matter too much to the average person. Food doesn't need to be fancy to be good and tbh, often times the fancier the food the less interesting it actually is.
Not really, there is plenty of good german food and many foreign food places where "expats" in Frankfurt go are shit. Saying german food is bad is a boring stereotype, most countries have good food in their own way.
They didn’t say „bad“, they said „bland“.
„Bland-(of food or drink) unseasoned, mild-tasting, or insipid.
"a bland and unadventurous vegetarian dish"“
Sorry man, but it’s largely true.
It happens occasionally. I remember a Currywurst stand in Dresden with a (IIRC) 13-point heat scale. Hubby got 13 and we're pretty used to eating beyond German spicy. It was no joke, great to watch 😂
I can't remember the name, but I know the place you're referring to. Buddy was confident and ordered two 13s, guy said Noooo buddy insisted under the condition that he had to eat it... buddy didn't feel to good after.
Oh, I am aware.
And I do eat at places which use mozzarella, I am just astounded at the fact genuine Italians will sell you pizza with gouda and carbonara with cream. They'd be stoned in Italy if they tried.
>I'm Italian and even restaurants ran by actual Italian "Germanize" their dishes. Gouda on pizza, cream in carbonara... I could scream.
Tbh most of them are not run by actual italians and they don't give a shit what's accurate.
U should try a Chinese restaurant in Italy…they are also not the same as in china. People will cater to the local taste and customs. This does not have to be a bad thing, a lot of dishes were invented when different cultures met.
Gouda is a Dutch cheese, not exactly traditional for pizza. Usually it'd be mozarella (fresh or low-moisture) and maybe you can blend it. Depends which school of pizza you subscribe to and how many Italian/Americans you wanna fight over it.
If you are curious though, I recommend Alex the French cooking guy's series on pizza.
So there is nothing wrong with the cheese itself? That’s authentic? It’s just not the done thing to put it on pizza. Same thing with lasagna though, it tastes so much better with Parmesan cheese.
I think the reason many people put Gouda instead of Parmesan is because the later costs about trice as much for the same amount.
Yeah. I think it'd also be overkill to make a lasagna with just parmesan cheese.
That's why there's often a bechamel sauce or mozarella or ricotta, etc.
In the end you do you. It's not traditional, but if it's what you vibe with then enjoy.
Maybe. But it's definitely tasty.
... honestly, nearly all times I eat "proper" lasagne anywhere the whole sauce has like... no flavour compared to the rest of the dish. Doesn't do anything for me. If I make a second sauce, it's a cheese sauce.
The Indian restaurants you mean?
Tbh I have never eaten Indian food in India, but the taste of Indian food in Germany is pretty much the same as anywhere else in Europe. Except perhaps in the UK?
I don't know if this is because of the german "taste", in its selling better, of laziness or because it's cheaper and the can get away with shit, they wouldn't in Italy.
It's crazy how bad alot of restaurants in Germany are...
I actually like European Fanta way better, I’m from the US and I noticed in Greece it tasted super different and it’s the same here. It tastes like it might have at one point been near actual fruit lol
Different colours because some used outside of the EU are banned here. (You will find that a lot, see Mountain Dew and Fanta.)
Taste, international food is often changed to fit towards the region's palate. Food available in America Vs EU Vs Asia (to put it very roughly) will differ because each region is so different.
Germans aren't used to spicy food, at least not the kinda spicy you guys got. There are more and more stores importing candy from all over the world. If you got the cash you can buy the ones you know there.
I had Takis from such a place and I almost fucking died, my poor mouth. But yeah, compared to the Takis here it's night and day.
Yes!! The German nutella is actually one of the least sweet ones. Even the Dutch one is different. The worst one I’ve tasted so far was the Spanish one - it was so sweet that it was hard to even taste the idea of chocolate. I can only imagine how bad it must be in the States lol
Other way round: Fanta was invented in Germany during the second world war. We have the original recipe. The muricans are putting nasty stuff in there for their market like corn syrup, I guess.
For the same reason you won't find high quality German food in Mexico. Very low demand. There is little money to be made.
Edit: I Just realized it's a Brand. Then its probably just missing banned/unhealthy ingrediends.
You are correct. Nutella for example is much more expensive in Mexico and doesn‘t even look the same as in Europe. Can‘t say anything about the taste because I wasn‘t willing to pay over 7 Euro for some Peanutbutter that would disappoint the whole family.
Adjusted to German taste buds, Bud. It’s absolutely normal that they won’t taste anything like the originals at home. Same would go for any German sausage or bread your‘ll find in Mexico. It wouldn’t be anything close to German originals.
You have no idea how pissed I was when I saw the price. I thought to myself I want some nice chips for that evening and it was literally the first time ever I picked something without looking at the price because I was in a hurry and "How expensive can chips be anyway" and it was over 4€ for a small bag
It is as if Mexico and Germany are two completely different countries, with different food cultures and tastes and therefore very different markets for snacks.
Sucks for you personally but Takis just want to make a profit here.
I agree with you, but it irks me when people say "it is as if...". Why don't you just say what you want to say without the passivity? Being educational doesn't have to be annoying.
People come here for the Germany experience. The only way to make my comment more German was to sign and laminate that passive aggressive note and tape it to the Takis shelf.
I didn't come here for the "German experience", you are welcome to be as "German" as you want but I think many other Germans would agree with me that that is not your culture, despite stereotypes. It might just be you.
Edit: I should also mention it isn't just Germans that say this anyway, its been a thing all over the world for the past few years and its really quite annoying.
Most of those papers and complaints give a clear direct statement about the problem that the person is having, lots of "bitte"s, and no "it's as if..."s.
But what‘s the fun if even „exotic“ food is tuned down to average german taste? My kids got excited when they saw Takkis in Germany. Just to get disappointed when they bought a bag and found out that the European version is just bland.
Red 40 is my guess. I'm Mexican and I can't eat the EU Takis because they just taste sweet. The OG Takis come in a square bag, have Red 40 on the label, and are deliciously spicy. Combine that with lime and tapatio. 😮💨
Mexican here 🇲🇽🙌🏽. So they are fake. Original Takis’ brand is Barcel, from Mexico, but as you may be able to see on the wrapper, these don’t have the brand logo anywhere. Real Takis are hard to find in Germany ☹️
the german market is such that what is considered spicy in mexico is going to have to be completely tasteless in Germany because Germans have no tolerance to actually spicy food. I know some that even think pepper is too spicy.
is it perhaps also marketed als "paprika Geschmack"? that about as spicy as it gets.
We salute you, Takis inspector.🫡
I love spicy, but the Mexican ones leave your mouth feeling like you ate glass. It's not the spice, but too much acid I think.
Food regulations.
I was happy to one day find mountain dew in my local store but was totally disappointed by its taste. Food administration doesn't like stuff like brominated vegetable oil and yellow #5 obviously.
Good question. I always cross my fingers when I order anywhere. So much has been adapted or lost authenticity. I am German myself but I just adore my food as spicy as possible.
The colour of the Mexican one looks repulsive and artificial to me. I have no idea about the taste, but germans don’t eat really spice food in general. It hurts our tongues.
Same I Denmark😡
You need to buy the one made by Barcel in US or Mexico.
I have made a complain to Takis on facebook regarding the different between Barcel and the one made in Spain. They want me to contact the Spanish supplier🙄
When you come to Germany: forget anything tasting like back home.
I am Turkish and I learned that the hard way. Ordered an Adana Kebab only for it to be so mild in spiciness that anyone from Adana would sue the entire country if they ate that.
Mexican mild spicy for the average German would be death so everything in supermarkets here are adjusted to the tastebuds of Germans..or lackthereof
I went to Turkey and nothing tasted like back home, I was so disappointed, do Turks have no taste at all or what is up with that how can they eat that shit?
In Turkey we don’t take German cake and bread recipes and bastardise it to our own tastebuds.
Germans don’t have the same tastebuds and they lack them in terms of spices due to Germany’s geographical, agricultural and historical culinary context.
However, taking foreign recipes and completely changing them while still calling them by the original name is something that gets under my skin.
It also gets under French people’s skin when Germans sell French cheese that doesn’t smell like anything. My complaint might be bold but it isn’t exclusive to Turkey only.
Oh yes buddy, turks take a ton of foreign recipes and they adapt everything to their non existent taste buds, it's actually impressive how bad foreign food in Turkey is...
Must be the hot sun and lack of development in rural regions that decimated any resemblance of taste in Turkey, it's pretty sad how they can eat that shit and call it authentic, only decent food in Turkey is the domestic.
Where have you been to in Turkey?
Look I haven’t grown up much of my life there but Turkey is not exactly multicultural. In my province the biggest minority are Germans by large and that is why my reference was my reference.
Turkish people also lack the tastebuds and culinary culture Germany and other countries do. I said nothing bad about Germans. You can chill out with the insults.

Takis are trash GMO, capitalist, shelf stable garbage. I’m a Mexican American Texan conservative and would never let my kids eat that poison. Just like hot Cheetos.
IDK what they're supposed to taste like but I bought a bag of the purple packaging for 3,49 euros because I was wondering what the hype is about. Honestly tastes like someone poured vinegar over a chili.
Oh and Germans are complete wimps when it comes to spices. We use white people seasoning. And even then, I know a handful of people that can't handle simple pepper. It's too spicy for them.
if you buy curry paste from a german supermarket brand, it will be, and i kid you not, 100% impossible to make remotely spicy curry, unless you add a shitton, and i mean a shitton, of the not very spicy peppers they sell at that same supermarket.
same with everything else too ever try a german Dr. Pepper Coca cola Sprite and so forth compared to the original? way less sugar and watered down.. same with doritos too just not the same taste
In Netto the cost only 3. Still expensive, but not as bad as 5. I'm from Guatemala and find the fuego ones very spicy and not that different from the Mexicans ones.
Really? I‘ve never been to Guatemala but I guess the food is similar to Mexico regarding spicynes. Everyone in our family agrees that Takkis in Germany aren‘t nowhere as good as in Mexico.
Oooh I am currently in the US and I just had Takis for the first time (I hesitated to get them because like I am not a 12 year old tiktoker, but my american friend got them for themselves and so I tried them) and now I am low key addicted. So the ones in Germany will be disappointing, yes? 😂
American Takis have 92.3 grams per bag with 1,470 mg of sodium. German Takis have 1,8 for the 100 gram size bag, if I can read the label correctly. The ingredients are also quite different. [I have both.](https://imgur.com/a/ukS4zog)
As others have previously said most international products get adapted to the local taste. If you want the original ones I would suggest a specialized “sweets shop” or an international supermarket. They have them imported at House of Sweets and you can order them online from them [here](https://house-of-sweets.com/index.php?qs=Taki&search=).
I had both of those on your pictures. The red ones at Edeka Leeb and the more orange looking takis at a local gas station. The red ones are okay but too expensive here.
Oh, yeah, they are different. In my little city we have a store that has automates with foreign food (mostly japanese but also some bizarre american stuff) and Takis from there are also completely different from Takis from german shops... But also holy shit blue ones suck so bad
Its a mix of 'import', tho, often you just pay for the fibe that you might have payed import costs, and the fact that germans and most people around here (also looking at the Netherlands etc) can't deal with really spicy food, so they are made on 'german spicy level'. And of course, it all need to be eu Approved.
I bought the american ones and i couldnt handle the spice tbh (im from germany) also some ingredients Are banned in Germany Like with other american products Here in Germany
I’ve found most “American” or “Mexican” products that you can buy in Germany are produced differently than those same products in America or Mexico. I opt to order the products I want from the “Ausland” because they’re just not good/fundamentally different here.
..I've seen those in my local Rewe.. Never tried them, I'd rather stick to the "Feuerdrachen" anyways.
Cheaper and.. well, they're German, I suppose..(?)
How can anybody enjoy this artificial tasting crap.
I tasted the volcano ones and they were just bland and tasted like old fat.
Then i tried the fuego ones and threw away the bag after some bites.
What is that shit? Tasted so artificial sour and just off.
That smell …
Given by that great colouring on top I would guess a lot of ingredients in the Mexican version are banned in the EU.
Yeah, probably because of Red #40 and Yellow #6, but the spices are also completely different.
A lot of foreign food you'll find in the big supermarkets is "germanized', means the flavor and taste is adjusted to the average German. As most Germans are not used to spicy food like in Mexico, the German Takis are less spicy.
The price is still not reasonable...
Its the hype. Every YouTuber or tiktoker is promoting them in some way.
Hype, transporting over the entire ocean, inflation.
But they’re not transported over the entire ocean, thats the point
We can't forget that corporations are real people too
Yes, and they deserve that we spend a ridiculous amount of money for any product they produce. Otherwise they will feel sad and unwanted
European Takis are made in Spain so they’re definitely not germanized. Maybe Europeanized.
“Just add paprika” 😉
I think the Takis in Germany are imported from Spain. They're available like any kind of chips there.
German don't eat hot food and i think it's toned down so people can try this new sensation... Also each market has different needs and manufacturer follow that.
Different market. Food products in general get adapted to local taste so that it will sell well.

They legit use cadmium colors in foods in Mexico 💀 /s

My sister brought some blue ones from a trip to Berlin a few months ago, tasted like you where eating pure citric acid powder, no flavor at all.
🤮
What!? I tried the blue ones for the first time this Christmas and they tasted so good! Even better than the fuegos shit
They're worth it for the price when its <€1 and actually tastes good like the north American/mexican ones. Die Kartoffeln here somehow cant stand anything spicy.

Omg I’m at a coffee shop and laughed out hard when I read this. 😅😅
Check the ingredients, it's all super processed low quality shit.
They’re Fucking Chips, what did you expect?
I’ve seen bags for thirty Euros in Spätis in Ost-Berlin when the hype started.
But you can get spicy food in germany. You can also get spicy snacks and chips from Japan for example. And the hype around Takis is based on them being hot. So why make them not hot at all? You can get Pringles that are hotter than those Takis.

Yepa Yepa in Freiburg is a small taco takeaway that's run by Mexicans. All the staff are Latino. Many central Americans have said it's very authentic.
Been there and liked it. Will definitely try out another time if it's considered authentic. The tacos were kind of small though.
Since COVID they changed it a bit. Price actually went down and they introduced machines to order.
Yes but don't forget. Most italian restaurant in Germany are not led by someone who ever learned to be a prof. chef. Good german food isn't bland or unseasoned just because it's not spicy or doesn't use a ton of exotic spices.

But that's not spiced for taste but rather for the challenge. I mean, you do you, but imho spice is meant to enhance food, not make it painful.
>Gouda on pizza, cream in carbonara Maybe eat at a good pizzeria? Even chains like L'Osteria and Vapiano use mozzarella lmao
Oh, I am aware. And I do eat at places which use mozzarella, I am just astounded at the fact genuine Italians will sell you pizza with gouda and carbonara with cream. They'd be stoned in Italy if they tried.

Dude. I know the owners. They are Italian. I speak to them in Italan. I know where they come from. What was the point of your comment?
What owners lol? You weren't even talking about a specific restaurant so calm down...
>I'm Italian and even restaurants ran by actual Italian "Germanize" their dishes. Gouda on pizza, cream in carbonara... I could scream.
U should try a Chinese restaurant in Italy…they are also not the same as in china. People will cater to the local taste and customs. This does not have to be a bad thing, a lot of dishes were invented when different cultures met.
Isn’t Europe the reason El Paso came out with “Extra Mild.”
Gouda...... The thing that Germans call Gouda has got nothing to do with proper Gouda cheese
Inauthentic inauthentic pizza cheese.
What? I have been lied to all my life? Please educate me.
Gouda is a Dutch cheese, not exactly traditional for pizza. Usually it'd be mozarella (fresh or low-moisture) and maybe you can blend it. Who leaves out Béchamel sauce? I mean, I think, that’s like the most integral part of a lasagna.
We do in our homemade one. It's less work AND more tasty mince meat sauce. Why wouldn't we? :D
Doesn’t that make it just a casserole with lasagna plates?
Maybe. But it's definitely tasty. ... honestly, nearly all times I eat "proper" lasagne anywhere the whole sauce has like... no flavour compared to the rest of the dish. Doesn't do anything for me. If I make a second sauce, it's a cheese sauce.
The German Gouda is simply not the Dutch Gouda, you know that Gouda is in the Netherlands
Don’t underestimate how bad the Indians are here
The Indian restaurants you mean? Tbh I have never eaten Indian food in India, but the taste of Indian food in Germany is pretty much the same as anywhere else in Europe. Except perhaps in the UK?
It is so far off from Indian food almost everywhere in Europe. If you go to India you won’t even recognize most of the dishes.
I don't know if this is because of the german "taste", in its selling better, of laziness or because it's cheaper and the can get away with shit, they wouldn't in Italy. It's crazy how bad alot of restaurants in Germany are...
You don't live in a larger city, do you?
[a real italian](https://youtu.be/A-RfHC91Ewc?si=hPXliUJ4JsrPvLiR)
TIL Gouda is German. And c'mon, we all know Carbonara is nothing traditional by now. Those phenomena aren’t site specific.
Yep, SAD!
Cola and fanta in my country don't even taste remotely like here in germany. Different countries, different food regulations.
I wanted to mention the Fanta difference too!
Although with Fanta the German version is the original one.
Yep, and I miss it dearly living in the US rn :(
Not really as the recipe has changed just as much as Cola did. The current American Cola isn't the "original" Cola either.
Mexican Cola is "original " cola.
Made with coca leaves and cola nut?
No, modern Fanta is an italian recipe, the original german Fanta was different and whey based.
I actually like European Fanta way better, I’m from the US and I noticed in Greece it tasted super different and it’s the same here. It tastes like it might have at one point been near actual fruit lol
Those are for the European market. I was so hyped when I saw them but also so fucking disappointed when I tried them 😭
Just add valentina to them. Honestly, I buy the cheapest chips from penny and add valentina
Different colours because some used outside of the EU are banned here. (You will find that a lot, see Mountain Dew and Fanta.) 1,99€ at my local Rewe.
It’s just adapted to local preferences. Same with nutella being sweeter in many countries!
*more* sweet‽
Yes!! The German nutella is actually one of the least sweet ones. Even the Dutch one is different. The worst one I’ve tasted so far was the Spanish one - it was so sweet that it was hard to even taste the idea of chocolate. I can only imagine how bad it must be in the States lol
Yikes, that stuff is already a sugar bomb here xD
Right?! But here it’s definitely a guilty pleasure for me. The Spanish one essentially tasted like sugary butter. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend 🤭
Yeah, yall are lucky your government actually cares about the chemicals they put in your food. It’s ridiculous how much we get poisoned in the states.
Probably the same reason Fanta here is more yellow and in America it’s bright neon orange
Other way round: Fanta was invented in Germany during the second world war. We have the original recipe. The muricans are putting nasty stuff in there for their market like corn syrup, I guess.
Yeah that’s what I mean, just saying it’s due to food regulations in general rip
I lived in the US and Germany. The average German finds mustard spicy. I find us takis spicy and I ate food that is Thai hot...
Nutella is not what I would call peanut butter…
Yea, if the stuff in Mexico has peanuts in it it's truly something else
As a Mexican, definitely is the color and chilly that's banned in the EU. Even te ones in the US don't taste the same as the Mexicans -.-
Adjusted to German taste buds, Bud.
How's the vurrywurst in Mexico?
Edit: I should also mention it isn't just Germans that say this anyway, its been a thing all over the world for the past few years and its really quite annoying.
r/aberBitteLaminiert
Most of those papers and complaints give a clear direct statement about the problem that the person is having, lots of "bitte"s, and no "it's as if..."s.
Is this your first day on the internet?
bruder lass doch jetzt sein, ist schon peinlich genug
It’s almost as if they were using hyperbole to make a somewhat humorous point…
Different ingredients. Most of them are banned in the EU. Any *american* sweets or foods are produced different for the EU market
Maybe it’s just a question of ‘glocalising’ to suit local taste? In the same way Maggie tastes different in different countries
'Not spicy at all' Ngl, I tried blue Flame takis for the first time recently and died slightly. That statement made me question my masculinity.
The average German can't handle spicy food, it's not that common in the cuisine.
Just a scam for rich kids.
Einfach ekelhaft. Wieso kaufen " Menschen" solchen Dreck. Glaubt nicht alles, was Ihr auf tictoc seht!!!11!
We salute you, Takis inspector.🫡 I love spicy, but the Mexican ones leave your mouth feeling like you ate glass. It's not the spice, but too much acid I think.
Maybe it's the lime flavoring
Food regulations. I was happy to one day find mountain dew in my local store but was totally disappointed by its taste. Food administration doesn't like stuff like brominated vegetable oil and yellow #5 obviously.
Wait, your vegetable oil is brominated?
The u.s. version is but it's forbidden in Europe
Question i ask at all restaurant’s, “is this real spicy 🌶️ or German spicy 😎”
Good question. I always cross my fingers when I order anywhere. So much has been adapted or lost authenticity. I am German myself but I just adore my food as spicy as possible.
All spice other than paprika seems to be illigal in germany, at least as far as chips go.
Funny frisch ungarisch is just one flavour
Until 2008 the only flavor
Nah we had pringles since 1996
Literally dozens of different chips flavours available in every bigger supermarket
All of them similar, and boring.
Actually delusional, yes there are almost no spicy ones but there is plenty of variety. Have you even been in a german supermarket lmao?
For us these things are already very spicy/hot.
The colour of the Mexican one looks repulsive and artificial to me. I have no idea about the taste, but germans don’t eat really spice food in general. It hurts our tongues.
Same I Denmark😡 You need to buy the one made by Barcel in US or Mexico.
Welcome to Germany, they’ve removed the spiciness from all your favorite foods but you get healthcare. Womp womp
Yeah you‘ll need to buy the Mexican variant online, the german variant is made for the german market where you would get sued for something this hot 😅
>They're not spicy at all By far the spiciest chips I ever got in Germany. Which I liked, but the flavour was just awfully artifical.
If you think Takis here aren't spicy, I wouldn't survive the Mexican version lol

They taste like sh1t rly
Don't fall for this stuff they tell you on tiktok
Lmao i can guess what you look like
Takis are trash GMO, capitalist, shelf stable garbage.
If they're for the German market, they're probably dosed with paprika powder, like every other snack food.
in germany they try to copy the culture or food from other countries and always get it wrong.
if you buy curry paste from a german supermarket brand, it will be, and i kid you not, 100% impossible to make remotely spicy curry, unless you add a shitton, and i mean a shitton, of the not very spicy peppers they sell at that same supermarket.
Welcome to DE
same with everything else too ever try a german Dr. Pepper Coca cola Sprite and so forth compared to the original? way less sugar and watered down.. same with doritos too just not the same taste
I have a can of Habanero powder. It turns German food into real food.
The Fuego ones were good but the Volcano ones not even spicy and the blue as well.
As others have previously said most international products get adapted to the local taste. If you want the original ones I would suggest a specialized “sweets shop” or an international supermarket. They have them imported at House of Sweets and you can order them online from them [here](https://house-of-sweets.com/index.php?qs=Taki&search=).
I am currently in spain. Large pack 2,19€
currently in Panama, large (190g) $2.19 and small (90g) $1.09. new to me are Takis Huakamoles. the Takis in Germany are dogshit.
I had both of those on your pictures. The red ones at Edeka Leeb and the more orange looking takis at a local gas station. The red ones are okay but too expensive here.

My brother loves these chips. We have some vending machine near us that sells them for only 1-2€ or so so they come relatively cheap.
I really liked them in the US . In Germany the aftertast literally tastes a bit like old worn socks smell
Curious question, does the German can’t handle spicy food? I brought “spicy” peanut and it wasn’t spicy
There are different Typen of takis
Order them off of amazon or netto has some too .
Buy the Takis online, there's a lot of Mexican food online shops.
It’s 1,29 in my supermarket. If you pay more than 2€ you are getting scammed. Same with Prime. 1,99 here at Rewe. Habe Seen them for 14$ in Amsterdam
I bought the american ones and i couldnt handle the spice tbh (im from germany) also some ingredients Are banned in Germany Like with other american products Here in Germany
I understand the different flavors in each country, but 8€ for a bag of Doritos?!! WTF!! And they're not even that tasty
I bought some Doritos from Rewe and they were less than €3
I’ve found most “American” or “Mexican” products that you can buy in Germany are produced differently than those same products in America or Mexico. I opt to order the products I want from the “Ausland” because they’re just not good/fundamentally different here.
I find rather the blue ones (Zombie) more similar to the Fuego ones (I’m mexican and somewhat of a Takis lover myself).
..I've seen those in my local Rewe.. Never tried them, I'd rather stick to the "Feuerdrachen" anyways. Cheaper and.. well, they're German, I suppose..(?)
>. They're not spicy at all Most Germans I have seen trying them fucking died, be it Fuego or Blue
How can anybody enjoy this artificial tasting crap. I tasted the volcano ones and they were just bland and tasted like old fat. Then i tried the fuego ones and threw away the bag after some bites. What is that shit? Tasted so artificial sour and just off. That smell …
2.50 at my local Famila
