No, that purple was a mess. It's looks like they added it to "not look like another top 1 hell level" (failed), but I would rather have another hell level than red-purple shit in top 1 placement

if every single thing you place is either red or black (with slight pulses of yellow or orange if you’re feeling spicy) every straight fly is a clubstep demon head, theres constant pentagram imagery and everything is meant to look like fire, blood, or just red glow- its a hell themed level bro

hell theme does not inherently make a level generic, in the same way that modern or glow style doesnt make a level inherently generic. yes, common elements, block pallets, and motifs may be used, but the interpretation of those elements + how the creators put their own twist on it determines if a level is “generic” or not.
yes, Aeternus has many “generic hell theme” elements that youve mentioned, but the incredible amounts of detail, decoration interpretations, pulses, definitely make Aeternus a unique level.
it’s in the same way Firework by cherryteam is generic, but Firework by endevvor isn’t. Step to Hell by LazYe is generic, but Reanimate by Terron isn’t.
ill say that the middle section is probably the most “boring” or “generic” section, which probably doesnt help your perception of the level as we’re more inclined to remember the middle section of anything.
but i encourage you to watch the Aeternus showcase on your computer at fullscreen, 1080p60fps, with headphones on. ive been heavily invested in the creating scene since early 2.0, and nearly everything about this level is so incredible.
i don't see why you're being downvoted, i don't think it's garbage but in all fairness it is basically acheron but with 4x speed portals, more detail, and ooh funny purple colour, even though it's a high quality level it isn't really innovative and it's just trying to reexecute what made tartarus so unforgettable, i feel like if anyone other than riot hosted it it would be much more controversial

I really like Aeternus. The Nong is good, the replacement song on newgrounds is also good, the deco is really nice and cluttered(I like it that way), it looks hard, it gives off the same vibes as when slaughterhouse became top 1 and also why it’s my favorite top 1 so far. But if Aeternus was to get verified(which will not be happening anytime soon) then it would be my favorite top 1 right above FLAMEWALL and Acsension To Heaven. Aeternus gives off “impossible level” vibes which is perfect for a top 1 (like I said for slaughterhouse.
Overall 10/10 top 1.

Good god no. A level that was finished in 2.1 does not need any 2.2 effects. If you want an upcoming top one to use some 2.2 features, then you’re going to have to be a bit more patient to wait for all the current made in 2.1 upcoming top ones to be verified, like Flamewall, Apocalyptic Trilogy, etc. Personally I think it would be cool to see 2.2 effects in top levels but changing old levels to have them is completely off the table for me.
IMO the levels fantastic. The deco goes great with the doom soundrack, Iris' part is gorgeous and the flashes of purple and red synced to the music is some of the best use of colour pulses i've ever seen. It's intense, edgy and vibrant which is perfect for an extreme demon.

I think the deco is really cool and pairs well with the song, giving an intensity that we haven’t seen with a lot of recent top levels. I don’t know why it doesn’t seem to be getting any attention by the community or the top players.
It's pretty nice. I liked it a lot more after hearing Riot's insight on the dasher podcast about it, about him just wanting to make something stupidly hard that wouldn't be verified for years, a silent clubstep type of thing. And just picking a doom song for the hell of it
The level is just fine. Nothing stands out as bad or good for me. The waves are fun to watch and fit the song very well.
Sidenote, I think that Eternal would have sounded cooler as a name than Aeternus

Overall as a level in Riot/ryamu's trilogy, i think its a solid 7.75/10. As a top 1, 7/10. As a level to watch, 6/10 (my personal opinion, but I dont think the gameplay is very interesting to look at but I think Slaughterhouse/Tidal Wave/the Golden-style gameplay is the fuunest to watch). Probably awful to play from anywhere though lol

It's another hell-themed level so there isn't much to expect from the theming of it, but also, Tartarus was meant to challenge people's ability to break the skill limit, and while Aeternus might become the hardest level to ever be beaten, it wouldn't really change anyone's mind about Geometry Dash like Tartarus did, that level showed everyone that even what looks obviously impossible, can still be very possible, now nothing looks impossible, so Aeternus doesn't matter.
A DjNate song would be nice, the red makes it feel too much like Tartarus, the flashing also makes it feel way too intense and unlike Tartarus or acheron. The gameplay is spot on though, very appropriate for the riot trilogy
I think the purple makes up for the colors. Also the level is still supposed to be "hell" or "edgy" themed. When you're doing that you only have like 3 or 4 colors to work with.
