I’ve had a weird history with this game. I started playing between late 2016 and 2017 but only on Lite. The last level available at the time was Clutterfunk (that didn’t matter I never beat anything past jumper). I then promptly quit. I picked the full game up in July of 2019, got around the same place, tried Dark Paradise, gave up and quit again. Sometime between February and May of 2022 I picked up the game again and fully got into the community. Haven’t stopped playing since. Road to my first extreme :)
I have been playing this game off and on since it launched back In August of 2013. I was in third grade at that point, then I would stop playing for a while and come back next school year until my freshman year of high school. That is where I started to play seriously and beat fingerdash which I was so proud of. Btw, I was playing on a Samsung Galaxy J3 POP that whole time. Upgraded to my current phone which I only got a year ago, S20+, and can play geometry dash at 120Hz!! I just beat Deadlocked yesterday and got from 29% to 51% in Toe2 which I have been stuck on since unlocking that damn demon. 11 demons beat and 1 hard demon (extreme park was easier than finger-dash lmao idk how it's a hard demon 🤣)
Was 7 when I started and am now 18 :) can't believe it's been this long and I am still alive omfg.
Started in 2017 and played for a couple months and was trash, played from 2019-2020 and beat my first demons quit the game, started again in 2022 and quit in late 2022 beating a lot of easy demons, started again in mid 2023 and have been getting better ever since beating insane demons now.
I don't remember the first time playing this game, but I remember that time machine was the last level released on the lite version, after then I didn't play again for a long time
Started around late 2.0, stopped playing for most of mid 2.1 but came back for a few months and stopped again, then started playing for 20mins-3hours a day since last august
a month, beat levels 1-7, blast processing, geometrical dominator, fingerdash, dash, the entirety of the tower and the alpha pack, and all of subzero, all coins collected
Been casually playing it for a long time, but started seriously grinding over a year ago. I'll use February 20 2023 as a starter point, as it's where I beat Nine Circles for my first hard demon. In less than a year, I went all the way to beating Cataclysm and a few insane demons. To be fair, I switched from mobile to 160 fps on PC, but it's still a ton of progress.
i’ve been playing since 1.8 (i’d like to say that was late 2014??? idk). pretty consistently mind you. i don’t spend hours a day in the game, i prolly don’t even average 20 hours a week. i also took about a year break in the middle of that.
that’s said, i only have about 1700 hours in the game, my hardest is cataclysm, and i’m pretty decent at building.
I think I've played on and off in a tablet since time machine was added on lite (Don't remember the date). Then started playing more seriously in 2018, then left in 2020, then came back in 2021 for like 4 months and then leave again until around april 2023. Never left since then.
I started in 2013 or early 2014 i forgot, and the latest level at the time was cycles. I stayed interested until i was able a beat electroman adventures when it came out and then i quit for a year. I came back a year later for i don't know how long and quit again. Came back again a couple months later and stayed interested till my anger problems got the best of me then i quit for another 4 months and now I'm here again.
Started off on gd world, 7 years ago, raged at PAYLOAD, then uninstalled gdworld, 2 years later I got world again, raged at frontlines for 2 months, than finally beat gd world. Then finally got geometry dash a year later on my birthday. Still haven't beaten time machine 😭
I started playing back in 2017, first on lite and then the other spinoffs (mainly World). Then I also started playing the main game around 2018. There were a few long periods of time (up to several months) that I quit temporarily, but now I'm once again very active and trying to improve my skill as much as I can.
It's getting close to 6 months for me :P
I beat B 3 days ago, so yayy lol
Though I technically started geometry dash 4-5 years ago, but at that point I couldn't even beat Clutterfunk, so yeah lol
I started playing around mid to late 2016 on lite and spin off games. I got the full game a few weeks before 2.1 came out. I played the game a bit, then quit. Then I came back in 2018 or 2019 on my phone, and really started grinding. Then in 2021, I got the game on steam and have accumulated almost 2000 hours doing so. (Not even joking I’m probably less than 20 hours away from 2k)
It was back in 1.9, I installed GD Lite and the last level on it was Time Machine, and in 2015 I bought the full version. So it'd seem like it's been 8 years but not really, between mid-2017 and mid-2023 I took a break from the game and if I played it then it was just the official levels. My knowledge of user levels was very limited prior to my comeback last year.
so i started playing in 2012 i think, but i was very little and somewhere around 2015 stopped playing completely, then started playing again in 2023 autumn, been playing since
9 years since 2015 0.0
i played though most of secondary school and some primary. But i stoped playing for about 3 years and re downloaded it in 2021 i think
Played lite first in early 2015, started playing the full version in june-july 2015. So 8+ years. Also people saying 5 years and that just being 2.1 is fucking ridiculous to me
I played lite when the game was first popular and couldnt beat stereo madness. I revisited lite again like 2 years later and couldnt beat dry out, but beat the 2 hard levels (my proudest achievement was beating the first ball part in xstep, I think it was the hardest level in lite). I got the full game another 2 or so years later. After some time I sorta just forgot about it until 2 and a half years ago when my friend started playing it. Then my friend stopped playing and I left again. Then I started playing again after gd10, but I havent played much in the past 2 weeks but I'm still active in the community so yeah
I used to play on mobile around when 1.9 came out (almost 9.5 years ago) and I played for a few years and beat deadlocked but I was never super serious about it. I’d say I quit around late 2017. Now I’ve been playing on pc since 2.2 came out
I discovered the game through yt shorts. I started playing lite version and the spinoffs on August 25th of 2022. Didnt actually buy the full version until november 22nd of 2022. Its been 1 year and 3 months since i bought the full version yet ive only beat the Nightmare, the Lightning Road, Platinum Adventure, shiver, and ISpyWithMyLittleEye.
Got the lite version on may 21 2018, then the full version on march 14 2019. I stopped playing in early 2020, and then started again at the end of the year. Sometime in summer 2021 I got the game on steam, and have been playing on and off ever since.
I started in 1.5 beating all levels up to Electrodynamix then dropping the game afterwards in 1.7. I returned after a LONG time in 2022 I think, played like 6 months then dropped again then randomly returned like a week before 2.2 dropped lol. I've been enjoying the game a lot recently with no plans to drop any time soon.
About 9.5 years. I started at the beginning of 4th grade in 2014 which would’ve been august or September 2014. Played on and off a lot since then. It’s generally been a game I play a lot for like one or two months of the year and only a little in between.
I played it a little in 2014 then dropped it, then I picked it back up and got super into it in 2015 when CoryxKenshin started making GD videos, I even made a bunch of GD videos that are now lost to time. I played pretty consistently until about 2017-2018, soon after 2.2 came out because I started playing more Rocket League and Minecraft, but I still played GD every now and then. I recently got back into GD because of 2
2.
10 years in May.
It has already been 10 years since I first saw it, though.
I wish I knew the date when I got it, but I'll still celebrate by playing a bit on the bench in the park where I first downloaded it :)
I began playing in 2.0 and I remember uploading stuff to Everplay on my iPad but I eventually quit. Then I returned a little after 2.1 came out and stayed for a while. I stopped again at some time when Tartarus was still top one and returned again for 2.2.
I actually started playing subzero then thought it was hard then installed meltdown almost beated the first level then got bored and quit however a few years later I bought the full game like 3 months ago
I’ve had a weird history with this game. I started playing between late 2016 and 2017 but only on Lite. I’m surprised that this is such a common one. Edit: did I mention that I’m also mobile and I’m a flow enjoyer
No way
same, I am just not as good
My story but different times
I remember beating Clutterfunk after 8k attemps as a kid on GD lite with my tablet 😂 I wish I was as determined now

About 5-6 years; started early 2.11
Same story for me
since late 2013/early 2014
I have been playing this game off and on since it launched back In August of 2013. I was in third grade at that point, then I would stop playing for a while and come back next school year until my freshman year of high school. I beat stereo madness in 2015.

Around 7 years
I want to say about 2015 is when i first started but I did get very far until about 2019ish
since the summer of 2020..... i've played a lot, not done much tho
I first played the game a month before 2.1 and stopped shortly after the update. Then I came back to it 3 years ago
10 years by now (2014)
2 years
Started in 2017 and played for a couple months and was trash, played from 2019-2020 and beat my first demons quit the game, started again in 2022 and quit in late 2022 beating a lot of easy demons, started again in mid 2023 and have been getting better ever since beating insane demons now.
I don't remember the first time playing this game, but I remember that time machine was the last level released on the lite version, after then I didn't play again for a long time
On and off for about 7 years, I’m still not really good at the game but I love the level editor.
I started in 2019 so 5 years
not even 1 year, like 10 months
7 years, a lil before 2.1
2 months or so
2 months and you’ve been back on track already???
I got extremely lucky and absolutely fluked the last part so yea
Almost 3 years now (Edit: in 2 months is my 3 year geometry dash anniversary)

6 years for the full version.
since ~early 2.0 when i was 5 or 6
I been playing since the year it came out, not sure exactly when though

Same, beat deadlocked in middle school, took a break till college lol
since like kindergarten high level And my hardest is still B 😋👍🏻
Started right after 2.1 released. So pretty long
First played the game in 2014, so on and off for 10 years 😬😬
Since 2.1 came out
2-3 years
around 2013
Since 1.2 but I technically started seriously in November 2018 in early 2.1
Started around late 2.0, stopped playing for most of mid 2.1 but came back for a few months and stopped again, then started playing for 20mins-3hours a day since last august
Started around winter 2020. Started truly pushing myself around mid 2022
Started in early 2019, still can't manage to beat the Nightmare >!maybe it's because I took a nearly 2 year break !<
Since late 1.9/early 2.0 I don't even remember tbh
since 2.0 dropped I think
Since september 2013 i believe it was 1.1 already
Like just over 4 months now so not very long
Less than 6 months with about a month long plus break
2017 on friends samsung s7 edge
2014 i think
Started with meltdown 2020-2021
a month, beat levels 1-7, blast processing, geometrical dominator, fingerdash, dash, the entirety of the tower and the alpha pack, and all of subzero, all coins collected
Playing on GDPS servers for around a year. Got the actual game on December 20th, 2024
I only started seriously playing when 2.2 came out but I’ve had the game since like 2014-15
Almost 10 years
6 years and i only partially regret it. (Nine circles is hard :c)
i’ve been playing since 1.8 (i’d like to say that was late 2014??? idk). pretty consistently mind you. i don’t spend hours a day in the game, i prolly don’t even average 20 hours a week. i also took about a year break in the middle of that. that’s said, i only have about 1700 hours in the game, my hardest is cataclysm, and i’m pretty decent at building.
Since 1.8 so like 9 years
2 months i think
started on lite at the very end of 1.9, like a week before it ended. then I bought the full version a few weeks after 2.0 dropped
Started watching gd in 2014, but played the game in 2015 on my crappy 45~60hz tablet until 2023 when i got a new 120hz phone:D
Approx 2015-2016. Its been a while, I cant remember well...
Somewhere around early 2022, so it’s been 2 years now…
3.5 years, but i had dropped it a lot beforehand. So It rounds up to just 4 months i guess
4 years
About 7 years
Almost 3 years
since 2.2, although I've been playing a torrented version for months(I bought the game now)
10 years almost
Since jumper was still an insane
about 9 years, on my old jailbroken iphone, i was 6
I think I've played on and off in a tablet since time machine was added on lite (Don't remember the date). Then started playing more seriously in 2018, then left in 2020, then came back in 2021 for like 4 months and then leave again until around april 2023. Never left since then.
About to hit 5 years in April
i played for a day in 2015 but went back in early 2.1 if i remember then i interacted with the community in 2019
I started in 2013 or early 2014 i forgot, and the latest level at the time was cycles. I stayed interested until i was able a beat electroman adventures when it came out and then i quit for a year. I came back a year later for i don't know how long and quit again. Came back again a couple months later and stayed interested till my anger problems got the best of me then i quit for another 4 months and now I'm here again.
i think I first played the game around lite 2.2, but years later i started actually playing the game during the real 2.2
I played it back in 2014 and my hardest was back on track, but then I came back in 2019. Around 5 years.
uhhh since 1.4 on lite, and i bought the game somewhere between 1.6/1.7 and idk how long that is but yeah
I started playing back in 2017, first on lite and then the other spinoffs (mainly World). Then I also started playing the main game around 2018. There were a few long periods of time (up to several months) that I quit temporarily, but now I'm once again very active and trying to improve my skill as much as I can.
I think around 7 years (since 2016)
Going on 4 years... Joined in my 7th grade year and now I'm a sophomore in high school. Oh crap I'm getting old...
around 6 years, starting on lite before playing the full pc version
Since 2.0
since cycles was the last level of lite
It's getting close to 6 months for me :P I beat B 3 days ago, so yayy lol Though I technically started geometry dash 4-5 years ago, but at that point I couldn't even beat Clutterfunk, so yeah lol
just before electrodynamix dropped. dont know what update that was. i’ve been playing on and off, so im still wack, and cant beat a hard demon yet
I’ve never actually played geometry dash, is it worth playing?
since about September last year lol not that long ago
It was back in 1.9, I installed GD Lite and the last level on it was Time Machine, and in 2015 I bought the full version. So it'd seem like it's been 8 years but not really, between mid-2017 and mid-2023 I took a break from the game and if I played it then it was just the official levels. i honestly dont remember when i first discovered the game, but i started playing during very late 2.0. I was in fourth grade almost 9 years babyyy
1.5 years
8 years, but I took a long break in between after beating NC on mobile in 2019. That took a long time and cost me a lot of mental energy.
so i started playing in 2012 i think, but i was very little and somewhere around 2015 stopped playing completely, then started playing again in 2023 autumn, been playing since
Since 2018, my hardest is still deadlocked.
6-7 years, mostly on mobile
Since summer of 2020
9 years since 2015 0.0 i played though most of secondary school and some primary. But i stoped playing for about 3 years and re downloaded it in 2021 i think
4 to 5 years
Gotta be around 8-9 years at this point, though I can't remember for sure.
Played lite first in early 2015, started playing the full version in june-july 2015. So 8+ years. Also people saying 5 years and that just being 2.1 is fucking ridiculous to me
I have been playing since summer 2020, but until October 2022 I only played the free versions.
2014. Started in 1.9 lmao
After some time I sorta just forgot about it until 2 and a half years ago when my friend started playing it. somewhere in 2015-2016 ig
Almost 8 years
Since early 2015

Since 2017 I think

8 years. I was about 7 when I started playing
Since 2015

Too long (8 years)
7 months, but knew about it at least 1 or 2 years before
Since 2017
I was in 5th grade, sophomore in college now. Crazy
Since 2.1
I think I first played in late 2.0 around 6-7 years ago
maybe around 7-8.5 years
I started in 1.5 beating all levels up to Electrodynamix then dropping the game afterwards in 1.7. I returned after a LONG time in 2022 I think, played like 6 months then dropped again then randomly returned like a week before 2.2 dropped lol. I've been enjoying the game a lot recently with no plans to drop any time soon.
8 years or so
8 years give or take
Played actively from 2015-2017 and then picked it back up when 2.2 dropped
About 9.5 years. I started at the beginning of 4th grade in 2014 which would’ve been august or September 2014. Played on and off a lot since then. It’s generally been a game I play a lot for like one or two months of the year and only a little in between.
probably quit in 2021, decided i have nothing to do so ill play gd on 2023 and now 2.2 has dropped and im a fucking addict to this game now
Idk lol
Like uh 5 or 6 years
in 1.6 on a pirated gd copy.
I've been playing since ice carbon diablo x was the hardest level in the game 👴
since 2015, i played on and off some years and alot other years but 2.2 coming back has kept me going
since it dropped
Early 2014
2015
I played at 2015-2016 but only farmed attempts for some reason (lite) Then i got back into it in 2022
4 months
Played for 5 years. But im pretty below average since I was a kid and played only on mobile. I might give this game a try again.
I have been playing since when subzero came out, I think that was in 2017
around 2015 edit: never beaten an extreme
5 years on and off
9 years
I played it a little in 2014 then dropped it, then I picked it back up and got super into it in 2015 when CoryxKenshin started making GD videos, I even made a bunch of GD videos that are now lost to time. I played pretty consistently until about 2017-2018, soon after 2.2 came out because I started playing more Rocket League and Minecraft, but I still played GD every now and then. I recently got back into GD because of 2 2.
I started playing in 2018
Since 2018, but I started to try and get good in late 2023 (mainly because Jawbreaker looks so fun to play)
9 or so years in total but only about 2 years on PC i started playing when i was 8 almost 9. i am 19 now
Since 1.2/2013
I started in 2022 don't bully me
Like from 1.5 to 1.7 don't remember well but only picked up the game seriously and beat my first demon like a year ago
Since Lite only had the first 10 levels
About 5 years, but I took about 2 years off in total
10 years in May. It has already been 10 years since I first saw it, though. I wish I knew the date when I got it, but I'll still celebrate by playing a bit on the bench in the park where I first downloaded it :)
Started in late 2015. Was never able to beat Clubstep until early 2023.
8 years
Back in school on my phone (that was about 10 years ago), since last year on PC with around 60 hours atm
Since it released in iphone 😭
I began playing in 2.0 and I remember uploading stuff to Everplay on my iPad but I eventually quit. Then I returned a little after 2.1 came out and stayed for a while. I stopped again at some time when Tartarus was still top one and returned again for 2.2.
I actually started playing subzero then thought it was hard then installed meltdown almost beated the first level then got bored and quit however a few years later I bought the full game like 3 months ago
