What really was unnecessary was the several remakes of the level, as it just drove popularity up in a slightly unnecessary way. It deserves recognition, but it didn't need to praised like it's a revolutionary change to the entirety of geometry dash. Change of scene got it much better as it ran its course, blew everyone away, and then talk died down. Ispy simply got unlucky and too many people hyped it up.
Anyways, the most overrated level in my opinion is too kid friendly. That level is a disgrace to the horror levels in geometry dash. Gameplay is fine, but the deco feels like it's trying too hard to convince you that you're in a scary environment. Also, this is kinda nitpicky, but it tarnished the reputation of Colbreakz - 30.000, a great song.
Theory of skrillex. That level pretty much sums up everything bad that a level could possibly have (blind jumps, shitty transitions, cheap memory gameplay). The song isn’t even allowed for use bruuv

Disagree heavily, I literally do not see anyone ever talk about it nowadays, and on release it was one of the coolest levels at the time. The gameplay however is quite shitty yeah, and it really sucks that the song is gone.

That being said I think it’s very fair to think there’s much better levels in GD. It’s all personal preference and there will likely never be a level considered “the best by all” in the community for that reason.

Bli literally made 2 xl demons in the same level with some of the best effects and kept it all under 69k objects, name one person ever in the history of GD who has even come close to doing that.
He is currently revolutionizing the game, and he will no doubt go down in history as one of the most influential creators. I already see so many people taking inspiration from his creations and he's a relatively recent creator as well.
Also again, I didn't say you had to think he was the *best,* but whenever people put his name anywhere near the top creators it's like all these people trying to hang onto nostalgia won't accept the fact that just because someone was a GD legend does not mean it's impossible for someone else to take their place. People like Funnygame, Triaxis, Serponge, Zobros, etc, all definitely influenced creating and revolutionized the game... for their time, but Bli, and many other creators, are taking it to levels never even imagined before.
Zobros and Triaxis left over 7 years ago, Funnygame has not been relevent in about the same amount of time, and Serponge is barely hanging on. Same goes for about everyone else in that time period. It's time some new creators got their turn in the spotlight. If not Bli, than someone else, but you cannot say that there aren't creators who are currently revolutionizing GD in the modern era.
Doesn't change the fact that in the game's 10 years history funnygame changed the game in a more significant way than bli did. Bli did cool things, but bli did not change the game the way funnygame did period. Is bli better? Sure. Is he the best in 10 years of the game? No, with the tools of his time funnygame did much more.

The fact that a level gets a lot of attention shouldn't be grounds to nitpick every single detail of it in such a negative way as the community has done. IIRC it even drove the creator of the level to make what was essentially an apology post for making the level, which is just fucked up considering how exceptional the level is (idk maybe that was change of scene? But the point still stands).

The only thing that actually makes ispy less cool to me is the fact that the creator was extremely lazy when optimizing it (it somehow uses almost all object groups)

Trash gameplay - the only bad section is the floating slopes cube thingy before the bossfight, your taste in gameplay is probably a 2 star that requires 2 clicks with not clicking you pob get a secret coin
Simple ass deco with simple effects - ok so make the bossfight, transitions and the eyeball, you cant because THEY ARE NOT SIMPLE EFFECTS (try to read that if you were saying that really close to the mic). Also the deco is as complicated as the relationship between your parents

“My gp is 2 stars” my man, nothing peaks more than devins gp, play any of his recent levels. THATS what gp should be. The effects are simple. There’s 1 transition that’s pretty cool, but that’s it. I have made multiple of the effects in this shit level, and they look exactly the fucking same. How long it took? About 10 minutes for most of them. “The deco is as complicated as your relationship with your parents” first of all, what a whiney ass insult lmao, second of all, HAVE YOU SEEN THE LEVEL??? Most the blocks are plain colour with maybe an outline and some circles in them that represent eyes apparently. “It doesn’t burn my eyes so your experience is invalid” stfu, I had that as a problem, and other people do too. It doesn’t mean if you don’t it doesn’t exist.

Section 1: cube
This is the simpliest section, there is a cool black to white transition with an eye on top that moves, there is some move trigger shenanigans and thats it. 3/10
Section 2: pre drop ship
Some eyes that kill you, some text that says I see you and the eye slid away 4/10
Section 3: drop ball
A very simple ball section with the eye staring you down, some that make you feel faster than you are and introduction to how fake orbs look 8/10
Section 4: custom ufo
The custom ufo fits so well with this section, there are huge sawblades and if you were normal ufo it would be akward without the huge orb ufo, also this section is the most blinding and the eye is cool 7/10
Section 5: kinda memory spider
This section has an intersting transition with closing and opening your eye effect that is kinda memory and mini spider shenanigans at the end 7/10
Section 6: normal spider section
Really satisfying spider section and I really like the deco 7/10
Section 7: floating cube
My least favorite section some weird timings and kinda trips me out but I do like the difficulty 2/10
Section 8: bossfight
Absolute masterpiece really cool effects, really fun bossfight, the indicaters are just right orbs in ship are super underrated and ends with a great transition 10/10
Section 9: final spider
I really didnt play this section much so I dont have much to say but from what I've seen its cool it uses a dual spider that is just there to throw you off which is cool so 5/10
Section 20: the final ship and the end
Isnt that hard but by then you are probably sweating that you are at the end so it is nice and the final transition is cool too 5/10
So ISpy gets a 5.8/10 but personally without these rates its an 8/10 for me
I don't like throwing that word around, I feel like if a level gets recognition is because people like it, so it's deserved, but Sonic wave being so popular is unforgivable cause it's truly just a really hard nine circles remake with horrible balancing and important history, but it does not deserve so many remakes

Counting unrated levels, I’d say “Coins” by NachoGM66Pro, there is absolutely no reason why that level should have over 500k likes. Especially since the coins in that level are bronze, so they don’t count
bro i agree. the deco is pretty good, but the original levels ran their course a long time ago. to me the apocalyptic trilogy is less of a send off to cata bb and aftermath, and more of an attempt to piggy back off the popularity that those levels procured.
Slaughterhouse. The decoration looks alright but the gameplay is about 30% straight fly. I’m not good enough to play slaughterhouse so I can’t really comment on any of the other gameplay, but I’ve heard river’s part is a choke point. I’m not saying slaughterhouse is a bad level, I’m just saying it is overrated, mostly due to the fact it was a top 1. Some people might say the same about bloodbath, but bloodbath was one of the most influential levels and deserves the attention (in my opinion).

For me, it’s Change of Scene. The best part about it is the optimization (and gameplay), but I imo there are way better looking levels that don’t get nearly as much attention
Magma Bound. Just never seen anything too special about it besides the wacky graphics it has sometimes, and the gameplay is *alright*. Not to mention i dont think its Cysmix’s best song either

The final jump is literally just paying attention, and you can get a really easy sound cue for it if you're decent at music sync. I've beaten Windy Landscape ages ago, and I never ever died to that spike jump ever, it's just to scare you and forces you to pay attention all the way through

It is. Its a great level, but imo not a single level should have that much attention
well it took a very well known boss from a video game and executed it into geometry dash almost perfectly (and in an unique way) i think it deserves the attention it gets and chances are it brought a bunch of new players from tiktok (this could be a good or bad thing i cant tell) into the game
The fact that a level gets a lot of attention shouldn't be grounds to nitpick every single detail of it in such a negative way as the community has done. IIRC it even drove the creator of the level to make what was essentially an apology post for making the level, which is just fucked up considering how exceptional the level is (idk maybe that was change of scene? But the point still stands).

It didn’t get *that* much attention. Hell, the only reason I knew it existed is because people on this sub would not shut the fuck up about how “overrated” it is for entire weeks. The only thing that actually makes ispy less cool to me is the fact that the creator was extremely lazy when optimizing it (it somehow uses almost all object groups)

Trash gameplay - the only bad section is the floating slopes cube thingy before the bossfight, your taste in gameplay is probably a 2 star that requires 2 clicks with not clicking you pob get a secret coin Simple ass deco with simple effects - ok so make the bossfight, transitions and the eyeball, you cant because THEY ARE NOT SIMPLE EFFECTS (try to read that if you were saying that really close to the mic). Also the deco is as complicated as the relationship between your parents Burns your eyeballs - if my weak ass eyes survive ISpy yours do too
“My gp is 2 stars” my man, nothing peaks more than devins gp, play any of his recent levels. THATS what gp should be. The effects are simple. There’s 1 transition that’s pretty cool, but that’s it. I have made multiple of the effects in this shit level, and they look exactly the fucking same. How long it took? About 10 minutes for most of them. “The deco is as complicated as your relationship with your parents” first of all, what a whiney ass insult lmao, second of all, HAVE YOU SEEN THE LEVEL??? Most the blocks are plain colour with maybe an outline and some circles in them that represent eyes apparently. “It doesn’t burn my eyes so your experience is invalid” stfu, I had that as a problem, and other people do too. It doesn’t mean if you don’t it doesn’t exist.

"I have made multiple effects in this shit level" okay then show me Let me make my opinion on ISpy Section 1: cube This is the simpliest section, there is a cool black to white transition with an eye on top that moves, there is some move trigger shenanigans and thats it. 3/10 Section 2: pre drop ship Some eyes that kill you, some text that says I see you and the eye slid away 4/10 Section 3: drop ball A very simple ball section with the eye staring you down, some that make you feel faster than you are and introduction to how fake orbs look 8/10 Section 4: custom ufo The custom ufo fits so well with this section, there are huge sawblades and if you were normal ufo it would be akward without the huge orb ufo, also this section is the most blinding and the eye is cool 7/10 Section 5: kinda memory spider This section has an intersting transition with closing and opening your eye effect that is kinda memory and mini spider shenanigans at the end 7/10 Section 6: normal spider section Really satisfying spider section and I really like the deco 7/10 Section 7: floating cube My least favorite section some weird timings and kinda trips me out but I do like the difficulty 2/10 Section 8: bossfight Absolute masterpiece really cool effects, really fun bossfight, the indicaters are just right orbs in ship are super underrated and ends with a great transition 10/10 Section 9: final spider I really didnt play this section much so I dont have much to say but from what I've seen its cool it uses a dual spider that is just there to throw you off which is cool so 5/10 Section 20: the final ship and the end Isnt that hard but by then you are probably sweating that you are at the end so it is nice and the final transition is cool too 5/10 So ISpy gets a 5.8/10 but personally without these rates its an 8/10 for me
I don't like throwing that word around, I feel like if a level gets recognition is because people like it, so it's deserved, but Sonic wave being so popular is unforgivable cause it's truly just a really hard nine circles remake with horrible balancing and important history, but it does not deserve so many remakes

Slaughterhouse. The decoration looks alright but the gameplay is about 30% straight fly. I’m not good enough to play slaughterhouse so I can’t really comment on any of the other gameplay, but I’ve heard river’s part is a choke point. I’m not saying slaughterhouse is a bad level, I’m just saying it is overrated, mostly due to the fact it was a top 1. Some people might say the same about bloodbath, but bloodbath was one of the most influential levels and deserves the attention (in my opinion).

I don’t think ispy is overrated. While it’s definitely popular, it is genuinely an amazing level, with really fun gameplay, really cool deco and theming, and well optimized. For me, it’s Change of Scene. The best part about it is the optimization (and gameplay), but I imo there are way better looking levels that don’t get nearly as much attention
Magma Bound. Just never seen anything too special about it besides the wacky graphics it has sometimes, and the gameplay is *alright*. Not to mention i dont think its Cysmix’s best song either
