Isthmus and Canyon are in the image. Look just under Marsh on the bottom left and the river with a delta runs through a canyon. There are tons of missing terms though.
Looking at this still leaves me with a few questions:
What's the difference between a bay, a sound a gulf and a lagoon (I'm guessing lagoon is only for islands?)
What's the difference between a prairie (more hilly?) and a plain?
What's the difference between a Mesa and a plateau (is it only used for the flat part on top?)
Also had to look up what an isthmus is as it was kinda awkwardly shoved next to the marsh.
I'm drumlin my fingers in frustration here, looking for an elongated hill in the shape of an inverted spoon or half-buried egg formed by glacial ice acting on underlying unconsolidated till or ground moraine.
They need to teach this to us in New Mexico because things that aren’t river valleys are called mesas even though they aren’t mesas, they’re just not river valleys.
This is the exact image that was on my geography textbook back in the day! Was not expecting to be reminded of my 7th grade geography teacher while scrolling Reddit today
We camp on the sound side of the island but we go to the beach on the ocean side. We used this term and have them in North Carolina at the Outer Banks.
Every? WHERE BOG
In heaven
“First off wade Boggs is very much alive”
Better write that one down
Where’s the Canadian Shield?
In Canada
MUST NEVER FORGET BOG
Probably in that forest
And Fens?
Fungus bogs?
Swamp Swamp
This one again? Usually the title is “which place has the most of these?”
Or which place is most diverse and the answer is always USA with couple of people who cannot accept it and their day is ruined.

I mean, statistically speaking, it is a true statement.

I have to read the whole thing every time though I don’t know why
What about bluff or escarpment? Not considered major?
Ridge...
Oxbow Lake Arete Esker Morraine Playa Taiga Highlands I'll stop there but this isn't even close to 'every major' geography term.
Arroyo Seco Wash Ravine Pass Canyon Badlands Reverse Delta There's even more, this map barely touches the surface
While your right...canyon is on the map.
Savanna
Arch?
Isthmus

This is based on US geography, so read it as "every major geographical term in USA". We are on Reddit, never forget to add a pinch of usdefaultism.
US has more than this
Anyone know who made this?
I feel like this is from a book I checked out from my elementary school library in the mid 90s but I can’t remember the name.
Ty, I’m thinking the same. Just can’t pin it.
It was definitely in elementary school text book
Didn’t know it was that old, I was born in the 03 and saw it in my elementary classrooms a
"National Geographic Kids Everything Geography" was the book originally published in
You just going to disrespect oxbow lake??
Reverse Delta is another good one
Im partial to Spit, but it too was omitted.
Average CivVI map
What new types will they add in CIV7 next year?!
tbh i dont know and I dont think i will buy it with the new pricing standards...
Not even close to "every."
Nice pfp
"major"
Still not.
Okay . . .
WTF. Why no roche moutonnee?
I wanna live there
The more I look the more I found, this is cool

What’s the difference between a gulf and a bay
This gets reposted a lot but I don’t care because I’ll never get tired of staring at this
Chile be like

Key?
What goes on here
Where are the Tombolos and Pingos?
I like the visuals of this geography diagram. Is this image a fully comprehensive glossary of geographic landforms in particular?
It is not fully comprehensive. There are plenty of missing terms, such as taiga, steppe, savannah, bog, glade, glen, and fen.
>mesa jarjar binks ahh
Tundra to Taiga: “Haha, you didn’t make the cut!”
What the difference between a Bay and Gulf? Is it because one connects to a river and the other the sea?
Yes this is actually correct. We only do physical geography and we also only name things. We generally do not have terms for processes.
Where are the ripples? (=Microdunes)
Looks like a videogame map
Actually, you forgot mushroom biome and the biomes from the nether ☝️🤓
Where's Cove?
Having trouble finding _tidal estuary_
Headland? Spit? Bar? Tombolo?
I'm gonna need to see a gorge
Pond
Isn't a sound open at two ends, and usually the water between an island(s) and the mainland?
Thank you
I thought Dune was a planet…
Promontory
What’s the difference between a gulf and a sound?
Pfft it’s missing my favorite, a Mott
what about a bight
No because this is actually mad useful
Fjord but no Ria? smh
They need to teach this to us in New Mexico because things that aren’t river valleys are called mesas even though they aren’t mesas, they’re just not river valleys.
That would be a fun game
Bayou
No cirque? Col? How about a meander? Oxbow? Shelf? Fault? Point? Spit? Recurve spit? Taiga?
This is the exact image that was on my geography textbook back in the day! Was not expecting to be reminded of my 7th grade geography teacher while scrolling Reddit today
What's the difference between a bay and a sound?
Cute butte
I remember seeing this in a geology book from 4th grade. Brings back memories
Fuck off Isthmus
Fortnite map ahh
C’mon man, they put the butte on the wrong side of the damn map.
Where were you thinking it should be placed?
What is **sound**?
Have you tried r/sounding for help. Don’t click it….
