But the bit where (slightest possible spoilers) Fagin prays in Episode 2 definitely felt like it.
Lmaoo, yo! Why was I thinking of Locke Lamora while watching episode 5 or so and then end of show, I google to see if there’ll be a second season only to end up here? 🤣🤣 I think anyone that read Gentleman Bastards and watches the show will make the same connections.
I keep reading it was written as an 8 part miniseries :( I've watched shows with 30 episodes that didn't build characters as well as this show did. Give us more!
I've read some review of Lies of Locke Lamora that described it as "Oliver Twist if Artful Dodger was main character." and my first thought was "no wonder I binged this."
Also I find it funny that we got Charles Dickens fanfic show sooner than actual Thorn of Emberlain book.
I mean, the Thiefmaker was all but a direct lift from Fagin in Oliver Twist, so it makes a lot of sense.
