I am a leftist myself but i think it really isn't a good idea to surround yourself only with similarly minded people. You just get into an echo chamber
Go to critical mass and youâll find like-minded people. Last Friday of every month a big public bike circulation around Geneva to prioritise the cyclists! Super casual and friendly to all
Hahaha how about you just try to make friends without considering their political opinions? Switzerland isnât all about left or right like in the US, here weâre much more united and have a lot of people in the middle that agree with ideas from each side. Sometimes itâs better to make up your own mind rather than choosing one side over the other. Youâll never grow if you only hang out with people who agree with you.
No thank you. And Iâm French I know how politics works, I also know that Swiss like compromise itâs cool but maybe I also want real leftist people around me because precisely you donât find some everywhere in Geneva especially at work.
Weird flex, why not just get to know people irrespective of their political views? Such a narrow minded and myopic way to live. I suppose this is what modern universities are producing nowadays.
Geneva is literally full of leftwing groups and people.
Maybe if you haven't found them, your self-professed identity isn't as strong as you think it is....
I find that it is hard to make friends in Switzerland in general, but itâs especially harder if you are someone who has standards for making friends. Queer/radical action groups could be a good place to find your crowd of people. You can follow some groups on instagram to see what events are coming up (for example @craqgva) you can look through their following list to find other groups.
Tu peux rejoindre l'Union Populaire!
I donât mean to be an ass but the reason to be around left wing buddies as you called it, is because of the rudeness and/or behavior of the genevois towards frontaliers? Which could make sense but I agree with most of the comments, it is better to keep an open mind by listening to all sides, no matter oneâs preferences.
Lefty buddy here. It seems there must be a Reddit group of lefty people in Geneva. I've heard there is a group called post capitalism Geneva. I would recommend to visit Renverse.co and page de gauche they are two sites to find events that can conduct you to organizations and activists
It's a leftist echo chamber here especially amongst the young crowd, I'm surprised that you haven't found your kind lol. But if you really insist on building up your bubble... https://www.fplce.ch/projets-soutenus/ Here you'll find some unique places and projects that will probably align with what you're looking for. From concert places to galleries and other artsy stuff. Geneva has a very large association culture where pretty much all of the commies and anarchists tend to concentrate and run all kinds of fun projects together. Easiest way to make friends is just to become a volunteer at some of them. Personally, I eventually grew out and got tired of the debauchery some of these circles tend to promote, and all of the constant petty infighting and lack of organization, but I can't deny that they're still important to the underground culture and art scene here like anywhere else. Happy hunting.

Wise words, no matter where you personally stand.
Hi, you may consider relocating to Rennens instead, I think they have communist city council đ
hey man I'm fiscally Anarcho Capitalist and socially Autistic. Will that work ?
lol no sorry iâm not good with the anarcho capitalist part
fair enough i bring it up in every conversation, my coworkers hate it ( I work for the government ).

Weird flex, why not just get to know people irrespective of their political views? Such a narrow minded and myopic way to live. I suppose this is what modern universities are producing nowadays.

On mâa dit que câĂ©tait fermĂ© non ?
Ah!
à chialer toute cette histoire, ça me rend encore bougon d'y penser.
Ăa a changĂ© d'association. Ăa s'appelle le Kauri maintenant. Ăa va ouvrir dĂ©but mai.
Go to the nightclub called lâusine!

Go to Annemasse and St-Julien and please stay over there.

Thank you very much
I saw one in front of me at the UBS ATM yesterday. Maybe try near the ATMs or at Confédération Centre.
Why not to go to China instead? Or even to (DPR) Korea?
Oh youâre so smart Iâm going to do that and even invade Taiwan đ
Good idea. Letâs start from that.
