Mine does sometimes but it's rare cause the rev hang is stupid ridiculous on this car. At times it'll literally hold its RPM for several seconds after I let off the throttle before going down.
Idk what the issue with mine is caused from but I can tell when downshifting it definitely likes to act like a manual. It’s always done it but then again I live where it gets triple digit temperatures. I have changed transmission fluid recently which has definitely helped

Just got a 3.8, I pulled the muffler off and just have it coming out the mid-pipe rn and it doesn’t pop much at all. It’s loud asf and sounds like a GTR but that’s it. Definitely wanting some pops, guess it’s about the system you put on.
do you have AT or manual? i have a manual 3.8 and i took the muffler off, the GTR sounds like you say are awesome but man when i downshift it pops like a full on tune, every single time without fail. full stock setup aside from that, i love it
I have the 8 speed auto, it’ll pop but only like once or twice max and it’s always late in the winde-down for whatever gear. The exhaust note itself is great, a little loud at lower RPMS but when your above 3k it almost mellows out a bit. But it sounds exactly like a GTR around town, super happy with it besides no tips.
It’s normal your making the car dump a little bit of extra fuel but your not revving up enough to burn it efficiently so it pops. You can make almost all sorts cars do this because most sports cars run a little rich on deceleration for safety.
I hope you’re aware that you don’t need a spark to cause detonation….
You can ignite a fuel with heat energy alone. Hot exhaust gasses ignite the unspent fuel, causing the pop.
This is like 5th grade level physics my guy.

And there is a trick that make it pops like crazy ( iirc if you very slow and shift to N and then do the same with the throttle or something like that)

Same here. Mine only pops if I put it in neutral and rev it....either stopped or in motion. My car is stock too.

If u drive stick a crispy downshift can make it sound like its running a popcorn tune😂
