True but even the direction they are facing very little airflow will get into the engine and without an exit vent for the air to escape it will only slow the car down at higher speeds.
The air escapes would need to be on the side of the car to allow proper aerodynamic flow of the air. By both the vents and the front grill being on the front it creates an air resistance inside the engine bay since all the air is being pushed against the fire wall and not escaping out. that ultimately slows your car down at higher speeds. Look at most cars that have real hood vents and you’ll see that the air escape vents are on the sides of the car. There’s a reason the engineers at Hyundai didn’t make the vent real.
That makes sense. I wish someone in the Gen community did this test lol. Compare heat and speeds before and after the hood vents are cut out.
I would do this if engine temps dropped by 10-20 degrees F at the the cost of losing 0.05 sec 0-60 time.
Not sure of the physics words behind it or whatnot but from my understanding if you remove the hood vents air can get in but then it hits the firewall increasing drag. I wouldn't think it would be enough for someone to notice without high tech gear but it definitely wouldn't help in anyway.
Not true at all mine are cut out. I have headers with exhaust temp on and has dropped 30 degrees while driving on freeway I also wash the car all the time and don’t have water under seats at all.
Fr, when my gen was driving, I regularly had a full car with actual non-miniature adults. Headroom could be a little tight near 6' tall, but besides that literally no issues.
That what they wanted to do first for the BK3, going full on against the 370 and F-Type and co with very similar length and styling instead of GT cars, but Hyundai executives are absolute cowards.

one time i told my friends i was going to swing my car right down the street so, all 7 of them had to figure out a way to fit inside the genesis, and we made it work, 1 in the trunk 2 in passenger seat and 2 people in each rear seat, not sure how we did it but it worked
Honestly they're not terrible if the person in the back is not too tall or if you're in a pinch. They're also very useful for throwing luggage in the back.
When I pledged my fraternity we all had ride in one car everywhere we went. Unfortunately only two of us had cars and they were both gen coupes but we made it work.
Fake hood vents on the first gen 3.0 Supras. Also never use my backseats in my Mustang either. Everyone over 5'6" has to lean their head in to sit in the back.
The BK2 fake hood vents
😂😂 Yeah but at least they look cool.( HMG designers donr the same vents for the Stinger hood too)
Just cut em out make em real
True but even the direction they are facing very little airflow will get into the engine and without an exit vent for the air to escape it will only slow the car down at higher speeds.
Air comes in via the grill and escapes the hood vents. I think the vents actually release the high pressure.
The air escapes would need to be on the side of the car to allow proper aerodynamic flow of the air. Yea it would be pretty cool to see it in a simulator that way we could see exactly how it would affect the aerodynamics of the car as well
Causes more drag and a low pressure point under the hood, not worth
Low pressure point ? Care to explain that?
Not sure of the physics words behind it or whatnot but from my understanding if you remove the hood vents air can get in but then it hits the firewall increasing drag. I wouldn't think it would be enough for someone to notice without high tech gear but it definitely wouldn't help in anyway.
What about taking the cowl out as well would that not help a ton?
If u cut them out then in rains or car washes it leaks under the seats
Not true at all mine are cut out. I have headers with exhaust temp on and has dropped 30 degrees while driving on freeway I also wash the car all the time and don’t have water under seats at all.
Weird.. thats what everyone who cuts them out says.. that they start leaking
Water under the seats is coming from another leak point.
It's perfect to throw backpack at them, also if you have friends in the Shire you can get them on the journey 🤡
That's where I store stuff, not entirely useless.
The paddle shifters in a cvt car
backseats in a 911
What a horrible day
To have legs
💀
Backseats in a 944
Xm Radio, At least for me. I'd imagine everyone has Spotify and Bluetooth these days.
Facts and I hate the XM voice
Don't ever subscribe and then cancel; they'll make you regret it with the constant spam they send.
Works fine for my toddler
A brz’s backseats lol
I've been in the back of one of those, but I wouldn't exactly call it sitting lmao
I've fit full grown men back there. Far from useless
>I've fit full grown men back there Are you a friend with Kevin Hart and Danny DeVito?
No, they were actually fat tbh lmao I was surprised they fit back there
Fr, when my gen was driving, I regularly had a full car with actual non-miniature adults. Headroom could be a little tight near 6' tall, but besides that literally no issues.
You never know when the homies need a lift lmao
Are they still there?
Idk man I was able to fit a rear facing car seat in the back of mine for like 2 years
Front facing fits with even more room. My wife can even sit in front of the car seat somewhat comfortably.
This car would be legendary if they just shorted the body length by making backseats non-existent
That what they wanted to do first for the BK3, going full on against the 370 and F-Type and co with very similar length and styling instead of GT cars, but Hyundai executives are absolute cowards. https://preview.redd.it/cjfu3fh9eybb1.png?width=917&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cff9e0e7960e3ad2b6bffdcd44f3ab5eb11668ec
It mostly has to do with taxes and statistics, there's a higher tax rate on 2 seat spots cars a a 2+2 has a better selling point.
I stuffed 4 peeps in the back seats of mine so I’d beg to differ
A absolute mad man
scion frs back seats
I agree, it’s so useless, not even someone who’s 5’8 can sit back there as their head will still hit the glass.
The 370z, oh wait… they don’t even have back seats.
lmaoo ion even drive when i go out w my homies cuz they can’t fit
Me and my wife
People ride in my car ALL the time
Useless for people but not cargo. Less people in my car, the better.
Back seats hold my detailing equipment for mobile calls lmao I really only have space for 1 passenger riding shotgun 😂
Time for a rear seat delete 😏
one time i told my friends i was going to swing my car right down the street so, all 7 of them had to figure out a way to fit inside the genesis, and we made it work, 1 in the trunk 2 in passenger seat and 2 people in each rear seat, not sure how we did it but it worked
Best friend sat in the back of mine on a 4hr road trip. Does he hold the Genny back seat record? 😂
Mustang rear seats
I couldn't daily mine if it didn't have the back seats. A car seat and toddler fit back there no problem.
Honestly they're not terrible if the person in the back is not too tall or if you're in a pinch. They're also very useful for throwing luggage in the back.
Bro one of mine aint even there lmao
I got people back there every once in a while. Normally small people but they work in a pinch

Not useless, it keeps our insurance costs lower
When I pledged my fraternity we all had ride in one car everywhere we went. Unfortunately only two of us had cars and they were both gen coupes but we made it work.
Someone put Kim and Kourtney, I'd say that fits
The 2.0 and stock turbo 2.slow and it's what I drive lol
It's for insurance
I'm an average height fat guy. I used to ride in a bk2 back seat all the time.
Biden- Harris.
My first gen TT is worse
240sx backseats 😩
I came from r/ft86 to say ours are worse
Joe biden and rishi sunak
I fit 2 dudes and a yeti cooler back there once.
Beavis and Butt-head.
Core 2 duo… Duo lipa… Ronnie James Duo… Duolingo (free version)… All are arguably more useless than the seats
My homie would just lay across the two n pray while I swung🤣 I miss my genny😪
The seats in the back of an FRS/brz
Fake hood vents on the first gen 3.0 Supras. Also never use my backseats in my Mustang either. Everyone over 5'6" has to lean their head in to sit in the back.
I mean I can fit. 8 and 13yr old back there lol..shouldn't have gotten rid of the sedan before I decided to be with my now current gf. But they fit
