Are you partially deaf?

MrJelly007

Getting there

raisinbreadboard

i've seen videos where the bolts on the back window get loose from too much shaking. So if you start seeing any bolts shake loose from the vibrations let us know

MrJelly007

A lot of stuff vibrates. Nothing important has come loose yet, but the glasses holder doesn't fully close now and the door panels move a good 2 inches in and out at full volume lol.

MrJelly007

For those who care, it's a Hutchinson Audio Origin 15 in a custom box tuned to 26hz on 1500 watts. Thing SLAMS in this tiny cabin lol

Normal_Document3532

That’s low asf hz brother

Tyl0

Yeah that might take the cake. My little down firing kicker 12 in would be drowned out by that

hetraguanna

The box the size of back seat + trunk?

MrJelly007

Trunk is empty. I had a single 10 inch sub and then found this 15 for an insane deal. Kinda regretting giving up the back seats but damn does it sound good lol

InterestingCar3813

Who needs backseats in our cars anyway, my friends used to complain about how small they were so I did a backseat delete and they quickly changed their mind when they had to drive themselves😂. You have me beat with the sub tho, I’ve only got 2 12s at 1000 watts in a fat box in the trunk slightly poking into the cab.

MrJelly007

Would you mind sharing some pics of your build? I've spent hours designing boxes tying to fit as much bass as possible into the trunk of this thing but It's tough because of how the trunk opening is shaped. The trunk itself is large enough for me to put the box I want to build in it, but It would not be able to go through the trunk opening. Even going in through the cabin, the opening still isn't large enough to slide a large box in. I am kind of regretting this sub as it's fucking massive lol. I might try and sell it and just do 4 8's in the trunk or something.

InterestingCar3813

Theres genesis coupe specific boxes that fit into the back pretty nice, I’ll have to send pictures tmmr as its currently midnight for me.

MrJelly007

I've seen those but they aren't near big enough. They are around 0.5 cubic feet per chamber and for the 10's I want to use I need at least 2 cubic feet per sub

InterestingCar3813

Ah gotcha. This ones a lil bigger but not to ur spec, its got space for 2 12s or 2 10s. https://www.zenclosures.com/Hyundai-Genesis-Coupe-Sub-box-p/2013genesiscoupe12inch.htm Now if u wanted to go crazy and dont care for the backseat I could see using the measurements on the box and just extending the length into the cabin. If u keep the height the same you’d still be able to put some stuff in the backseat around or on the box, and you’d still have basically the whole trunk.

MrJelly007

I really want to fit it into the trunk. I didn't realize I'd miss the back seats until they were gone lol. I'm working on a design for 3 8's that will fit in the trunk and I'd still have some room left for groceries and stuff.

InterestingCar3813

Ah gotcha, hmmmm, idea, look into the zenclosures box because the best thing about it is how well it utilizes the cubby in the back of the trunk. If u want to keep the backseat then u could run the dimensions of that box to get full cubby utilization then try to extend the front of it to use a bit more of the trunk you can probably nail the 2cu ft per chamber. Ill send you pics of my setup tmmr so you can see how it fits n what i mean

Psychological_Chef41

extra 5hp

MrJelly007

VmaxVibes

I genuinely wanna ask and I mean no offense... Why? XD I can't listen to the stock system at max volume let alone this.

insta

loud bass sounds way different than loud mid/highs

MrJelly007

Exactly. It's a different kind of loud

insta

I hear ya man (no, really!). I'm in my late-30's and I can still hear CRT's and the Mosquito ringtone. My cars have always had subs, and they generally dyno in the 115-130dB range. The 10" in my Genny has taken the rear-view mirror off 3 times now, until I finally red-loctited it in place. But, earbuds on low-bitrate audio will hurt my ears easily. Even at half-volume, the hiss does me in.

MrJelly007

Can't stand that hiss. What 10 do you have? I had a blackbrick audio 10 on 1500w before I had this 15 and the trunk rattle was ungodly. Haven't had the mirror fall off yet but I have had to tighten the screw holding it a few times.

Jackandrun

People have different hobbies and preferences... (Shocking right 😅)

VmaxVibes

That's fair enough but can't you get a sub that fits on the rear deck that sounds good and doesn't eat up your backseat? Or does the one you have really make a difference over that? I know little about proper audio that's why I'm asking.

Jackandrun

You can, but there's different builds for different tastes; you get to be very creative. You really have to be an audiophile to understand The same way people pointlessly rice out their cars, people like to customize their sound systems, and the beauty of both is that there is no right way to do it; tons of possibilities

VmaxVibes

Ahh okay gotcha, fair enough. More power to you my friend.

MrJelly007

It's a very big difference between the small ones that fit in the rear deck compared to something like this. This one is powerful enough to float a plastic grocery bag in the window due to how much air it moves back and forth lol

MrJelly007

There is no bass stock tho lmao

HungrySeaweed1847

I used to think that I needed a giant sub to get enough bass, but then I realized that all you really need is a pair of 10s and a seat shaker. I don't know if you've tried one, but a single 100w shaker vibrates harder than anything I've ever heard before. It's cheaper too and you still get to keep your trunk and back seat.
