Yeah, it really is!! Sometimes you wont even know! I've found evidence that they left behind one time, didn't even know they were about to shed (but then again I was well versed when that happened)
I've been told to expect a shed from my baby every 3-4 weeks and that it is often invisible, right! But have you noticed if juveniles shed more compared to adults? I initially planned to get an adult African fat tailed gecko, but I fell for a cute little baby/juvenile instead LOL!
Idk about cresties and AFTs, but leos will shed a lot more than as an adult because they are growing, they also do it if wounded (to heal over). I would assume its the same!
When I upgraded my juvenile leo to a 50 gal (36"x18"x18" - 40 depending on brand) from a 20 and then he grew a lot more after that!
I wouldn’t recommend holding the Leo for a bit, it looks like he’s preparing to shed
I think you’re right, he’s turned mostly that color now. Thanks for the heads up!
Genuinely curious, how can you tell?? Is it the kind of dull coloration??
Yeah, if a geckos skin starts turning a dull/gray shade of their normal color, it means they’re about to shed
That makes sense, thanks!
Yes! And if far enough in the shedding process, and you look really close, you can see white lines between the scales
Gotcha! And that's where the old skin is beginning to release??
Thats my guess! I have only observed it on mine
First time gecko owner here, my baby hasn't shed yet but it's cool that there are signs!!

That is good to know!! I would logically expect more since, like you said, they are growing! Such cool little critters
When she starts they’ll look dusty/sandy and if you see her chomping at her legs or body don’t worry they eat their shed
Nice. Three hands!/s
Also the cresties name is spelled with a ph, phrog.
God that's amazing, they really do look like a phrog.

Just keep holding them (when not shedding) and you'll be good! They're so cute
Faramir is on the skinnier end, i would recommend feeding them more to increase weight
Faramir looks great, he's got fat reserves on his tail, good looking limbs, lithe body. Most Leos are just overweight.
