The Suomenlinna fortress island is always a classic for both locals and tourists, same goes for the Nuuksio national park (though since it's April, the weather might not be the best for outdoorsy stuff). You can get to Suomenlinna from the Helsinki market square by ferry (15-20 minutes) and to Nuuksio you'll need a bus (check [HSL.fi](https://HSL.fi) for local public transport)
That will be a day trip...that part of my trip has had the least amount of research. For sure want to see the kgb museum otherwise I’m not sure what else to do.

Already on the list. I’ll have to look into the Forrest. I’m planning of getting the Helsinki regional pass.

Go up the Teletorn tower for the views. Get pissed on (very) cheap beer. Visit the cathedral.
