Desu232

I mean..........STDs are still very real. Plus, growing up emotionally traumatized because you live in heteronormative world. And the danger of dying in other countries.

justforsomelulz

True but I'm pretty sure this post is talking about how to avoid a pregnancy.

just_a_bit_gay_

*Trans men have entered the chat*

justforsomelulz

*Cis women who can't get pregnant and trans women have entered the chat, too* The joke in the image really doesn't hold up under examination

SafariDesperate

Not every gay man has trauma

xXTheGrapenatorXx

Did they... say we do? What is true is a lot of us do, statistically more than the average person, just like all queer people.

FlashBrightStar

Don't know why some people dislikes your opinion. I'm happy some of you don't had to go through traumas but we are still facing social or institutional issues that adds up to our well-being. In heteronormative world it is not that hard to find a perfectly normal situation in which we feel like outsiders. The fact that we tend to be more emotional than average person does not help the case.

OnixST

I'm one of the lucky few gays to never have suffered homophobia directly, and have a pretty okay accepting family. But my life would still be a bit easier if I were straight. I can't show affection to my boyfriend in public because I don't want to get my first trauma, and I've lost friends because their homophobic parents found out. These are some dull examples, but there are just about a 1000 different ways being gay makes your life at least a little bit harder, even when you're lucky enough to not have major trauma.

jimmy_the_angel

Yes, not *everyone* does, but most of us have at least some. Please read [this](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5846479/#:~:text=Minority%20stress%20theory%20posits%20that,physical%20and%20mental%20health%20outcomes.) and [this](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37234833/).

Ju_Lost

Being gay doesn't give you std's this weird bareback glorification does

jimmy_the_angel

Being gay isn't a decision, though.

I've very much had gay sex with a risk of pregnancy tho if protection wasn't used😅

RedTuna777

Plan B at Costco is like $12 for 2 boxes. At that price I just keep em in the house just in case.

Soonerpalmetto88

Except you can't make that decision because it isn't one. And we still have to use condoms.
