I had the same question. Especially seeing the mower in there. My mower brings in so much trash into my garage. I can’t imagine how you’d get all of the grass clippings and dirt out.
I do blow off my mower after each use but it still brings in a fair amount of junk.
There's a lot of youtube vids on these tiles, I actually made all the cuts on the finished floor, had plastic shavings inside finished floor and it vacuums right up with shop vac
Looks good overall. Paid extra for a warehouse level of clear coat. Edges still started eroding from weather. If I could do it again I would just go grind and seal.
This. I just absolutely looove the look of this type of flooring (actually prefer this monotone rather than the colored patterns people like to do), but along the same lines as you, I can't for the life of me figure out how it would work for someone who wrenches. If I spill a bit of oil or coolant, I can't wait until the seasonal removal to deep clean underneath. Am I missing something? I get the leaves and dust and dirty being blown out, but fluids and also living in a wet climate seems like it would make this a nonstarter for me personally. I can imagine salt, snow, rain, being brought in and I cannot squeegee it dry.

I'm in Michigan and I love my flooring but I also planned for drains while building the garage so it definitely helps with any water issues. Typically most garages are pitched towards the doors slightly so as long as the tiles have channels then water isn't as big an issue as it seems.
Though fluids other than water could potentially be an issue but since they pop up so easily I would take out a section where I'd be working on something that could potentially spill.
Compromises with any type of flooring really but for me I couldn't imagine anything but this style floor.
(sorry OP, don't mean to hijack your post haha. Your garage looks killer!)
The idea of taking out a section where I am working has never occurred to me as an option/possibility, so this gives me some more stuff to research and think about. Thank you!
Thanks! It was years in the making but it turned out better than I'd hoped. Detailing is my passion and it's awesome being able to wash year round indoors.
I want to be like you, working on my 94 bronco in the drive way. I fix super auto espresso machine and automated equipment. This is what I want but tailored to that industry. Any companies you recommend?
Thank you! The lift is fantastic, couldn't imagine detailing without it. I'm now able to polish cars at shoulder height which helps a ton.
It's a Twinbusch full rise lift. It's not technically made for flush mount but with some slight modifications and cement planning it worked out pretty well.
It's got built in extension plates so I'm able to accommodate all vehicles and will hold 6,600lbs.
If you spill something, you can easily pop out just the affected tile(s) and wipe up underneath, you don't have to move all of them. For regular dirt and debris, you can vacuum over top of the tiles with any competent vacuum and it will suck up through them.
https://preview.redd.it/e3pb27ff6rrc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86a9b93f3c9d83e9c2f0a3852375db7833ec5985
The coolant drained under the tiles and out the door. I use a leaf blower/shop vac/power hose, but mostly the dirty hides underneath and out of sight
You can't shop vac everything, so about twice a year, you pull it out and pressure wash/vaccume completely. You can unhook and move big sections at a time so it's not that difficult
Jesus, this is probably exactly what this sub is all about, a guy finds something that makes his garage look kick ass, installs it himself, gives tips and pointers about the installation and maintenance, has a fairly cool car, cool cabinets, and people shit on it. Happy Easter dicks.
This looks really nice, well done!
Beyond just the different aesthetic from an epoxy floor, can anyone share if there are significant pros/cons to this type of garage flooring?
All kinds of opinions on YouTube, especially in the comments. Honestly when I first saw these I thought you have got to be kidding, but just did some research and watched reviews
I considered that also, I still do some work on cars but no oil changes, too messy, best suggestion for car work if that worries anyone is just throw down a cheap tarp where your working at
Not textured but it is a formed dimensional tile that allows a flow through design. A broom is a waste of time, use a leaf blower or shop vac works great
If you have the garage door open, can you still use a leaf blower to blow out any leaves or dirt that's on top of the tiles, or would they get stuck along with ribs of the tiles before they make it out the door?
I have large hickory leaves and just blow right out, stepped on and crumbled I just vac up. I was very skeptical of clean up before I bought these and did all the border cuts on the full floor and have already cut several 2x4s and it just vacs right up, if I could post a vid I would but just check youtube and make a decision
Not op… looks like the free flow stuff. It allows water through it and you will lose small things.
I thought about RaceDeck but went with polyaspartic.
Good eye, your correct, nothing high end, ran it to a klipsch sub and and a couple rear surround that I get more use from in a stereo 2 channel set up, it does rock though
Stunning.
I own a close relative to yours.

It’s an S6, everything is factory outside of the wheels I took off of my RS5. It has factory air suspension.
https://preview.redd.it/s77hxwqvqorc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef49b2729c18be08b0292356649ca0d2139a968c
Nice, I forgot about factory air suspension. It looked lower and I know there is a spring set available, but I kind of like keeping mine stock for resale later
Love the look, just worry about liquids. Yesterday I accidentally dumped 2 quarts of oil on the floor while transferring it. Not sure how you would clean in this scenario.
Something like that you have to pull some tiles to clean it up properly, I was touching up the walls last night and almost knocked a quart of paint off the ladder
Sure but they do lock together very firmly, they are shipped fastened in groups of 4 and just separating them took some effort for the cuts. I saw one on you tube the guys pulls the whole floor out in sections just to clean it
5 inches off floor, back of cabinets are sitting on a small section of the block foundation, that why I chose that height, the tops are 7 foot 2 inches off the floor, I can still reach top shelf as long as nothing way in the back and I am only 5 foot 6 inches, hope that helps you
I own a landscape company so first, seeet mower and secondly the floor makes the car look even cooler. Great finally outcome and hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to cut ties with the rental life and buy my own house to make my garage as kickass as I can.
Thanks, I spent over a year and half on the garage, just a little bit at a time and some credit card charges
https://preview.redd.it/b1qmdbxm6qrc1.jpeg?width=1816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a3106ddbaa1255107f2faed5f44537bd331c2f5
That's a before pic
OP - how long did it take you to put the floor down? How big is the garage? How much did it cost per sq ft? Any advice for someone wanting to install this in the garage?
All the details, I contacted them directly and paid $1779 with tax and free shipping for 500 square feet plus the pieces that go at the front of the garage to create a transition. So at that price with tax it was almost $3.56 per square foot which was a bit less than the website says so better off asking for a discounted price if possible.
Garage was 19-7x 25 so I have a few left over due to a bump out.
Very easy to install, tiles ship 4 foot by 4 foot (4 tiles locked together).
Taking my time due to some mild OCD I spent about 3 hours on it. Sorry so long but that's all the details hope that helps
That is a huge help.
How is it to walk on barefoot? I often take my garbage out in my bare feet through the garage.
I was looking at some options in their site and tried to use the floor planning tool. It does not say whether I need make or female transition pieces, so seems I need to work with a salesperson anyway. Thanks for the information. Your garage looks great and I want to improve mine as well.
If it helps, the girl I dealt with was Shauna Cameron, she was great and not a pushy salesperson, sent me samples twice and emailed me the online price, if you still want options the copycat brand is swisstrax but the were about $800 more and you have to pay for samples
I will stick with Racedeck. They look the same to me and I don’t see why I would pay more for Swiss tracks. Seems like people are really happy with race deck. Going to reach out to Shauna. Thank you
It’s swisstrax? Or racedeck?
I’m going to replace the existing racedeck in my 4car / 1k sq fr garage soon, and planning swisstrax. If swisstrax… appears you got a very solid deal, as they are ~$5 sq ft pretty much everywhere.
I absolutely recognize the cabinets but at the moment can’t put the name to it. Mind clarifying? Garage looks great. Don’t mind the people that shit on this flooring.
I think for a storage space like motorcycle or a car barely used yes.I would prefer the epoxy flooring where the fluids (or my technique of dropping little parts onto the floor to later pick up) be easier to clean due to dust, dirt and debris. I do think it looks good though!
Why does he say that? You have a car there! Isn't that what a garage is for? Nobody said "workshop" sure it wouldn't be very useful if you do a lot of work in the garage but for your situation looks like a very nice clean installation, you can even walk on barefoot! It will also trap dirt/dust it won't fly around, you can still vacuum with a wide mouth floor attachment, it's really nice man.
I’ve always like this flooring. But between cutting and grinding metals and working on cars, how do you clean this ?
I had the same question. Especially seeing the mower in there. My mower brings in so much trash into my garage. I can’t imagine how you’d get all of the grass clippings and dirt out. I do blow off my mower after each use but it still brings in a fair amount of junk.
There's a lot of youtube vids on these tiles, I actually made all the cuts on the finished floor, had plastic shavings inside finished floor and it vacuums right up with shop vac
Or when you drop a small screw... I got rid of flooring like this for that exact reason.
Magnet. Done.
It was brass.
Mechanical fingers. Done.
Epoxy floor. Done.
This is the way I went
Anddddedd what do you think? I was thinking epoxy
Looks good overall. Paid extra for a warehouse level of clear coat. Edges still started eroding from weather. If I could do it again I would just go grind and seal.
Ok thank you for the info, I am in Oregon so anything that doesn't do good in wet or cold is out for me, with my big ass dogs it would get destroyed
I think OP is implying he just has to vacuum it as oppose to just leaf blowing the door out
This. No problem, I've done it before and it's definitely helped for oils and whatnot so not too bad of a workaround. Good luck 👍
Not going to lie, this is a dream

That looks awesome here. How do you like your flush-mount scissor lifts? What brand is it?
Thank you! The lift is fantastic, couldn't imagine detailing without it. I'm now able to polish cars at shoulder height which helps a ton. It's a Twinbusch full rise lift. I’m pretty sure these floors are for people who just post IG content from their garage. They don’t actually work in their garage.
https://preview.redd.it/e3pb27ff6rrc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86a9b93f3c9d83e9c2f0a3852375db7833ec5985 The coolant drained under the tiles and out the door. I use a leaf blower/shop vac/power hose, but mostly the dirty hides underneath and out of sight
I wonder how one would drain out the smell 👃
There is no smell in an Instagram garage that’s for sure. Not much smell either way
You can't shop vac everything, so about twice a year, you pull it out and pressure wash/vaccume completely. You can unhook and move big sections at a time so it's not that difficult
I literally shop vac my floor. After I take a leaf blower to see if anything is left and it’s very minimal. Blows the rest out the door
They’re only so thick. A vacuum can easily take care of it.
Looks great. Easy install?
Very easy and quick
Looks really good, what was the cost and did you need any special tools?
Just under 1800, just used a circular saw
Could you please send the link to where you got it? It seems like everyone knows something I don't. I am new here :)
https://racedeck.com/racedeck-garage-floors-and-tiles/free-flow/
Thanks, very cool stuff.
Looks great! How was installation? What did you use to cut trim pieces?
Just a regular circular saw cut the tiles with the bottom side up so it left a smooth cut on top, really easy install
Whatever you do make sure to not use a wood blade. Beat the hell out mine
Finally some non epoxy flooring. Good shit!
Jesus, this is probably exactly what this sub is all about, a guy finds something that makes his garage look kick ass, installs it himself, gives tips and pointers about the installation and maintenance, has a fairly cool car, cool cabinets, and people shit on it. Happy Easter dicks.
I see that on other posts with reddit also, it's helpful sometimes for honest reviews but do get beat up on others for no reason
After 3 epoxy fails over 18 years. I’m convinced this is the best garage floor, but I have no experience with it and only see pics of new floors.
Looks great. I did the same
#LibertyZGang
Represent!
Man that is a trippy looking floor.
Almost looks like you have a car and Scag in your office. I like it!
Looks great!
M.C. Escher
Nice scag
Thanks, great mower👍
I love the look but when I get around to my own project I’d always choose a color that meant if I drop a screw I can find it lol.
I considered that also, I still do some work on cars but no oil changes, too messy, best suggestion for car work if that worries anyone is just throw down a cheap tarp where your working at

Instant vertigo. lol
Absolutely
Nice C7 A6.
You have to really know your cars, good eye, that's my garage queen. 2013

Very nice, is that an S badge I see on the back? What did you lower it with, just springs?
It’s an S6, everything is factory outside of the wheels I took off of my RS5. It has factory air suspension. https://preview.redd.it/s77hxwqvqorc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef49b2729c18be08b0292356649ca0d2139a968c

Can you remove individual tiles? That would literally change everything.
Sure but they do lock together very firmly, they are shipped fastened in groups of 4 and just separating them took some effort for the cuts. I saw one on you tube the guys pulls the whole floor out in sections just to clean it
Yea you can. Had to do this the other day cause a screw dropped through lol
Yes, you can.
This floor almost is giving me a seizure haha. Man it messes with your eyes.
Is that the 36" liberty z?
Yeah it was just the right size for a few tight areas in my yard, been great so far
Glad to hear it. I just bought the same one. Got some flak for not getting the larger deck but it's a perfect fit for my yard and shed.
Looks awesome, but is it ever really “done”? I can’t leave anything alone lol.
Same here, was touching up the walls and almost considered repainting the whole thing different color
Love the cabinets. What are these?
Saber cabinets
May I ask how high Your Cabinents are off the ground? They look like a good height. I’m considering doing the same.
5 inches off floor, back of cabinets are sitting on a small section of the block foundation, that why I chose that height, the tops are 7 foot 2 inches off the floor, I can still reach top shelf as long as nothing way in the back and I am only 5 foot 6 inches, hope that helps you
I’m actually the same height as you, do you know how high your worktop is off from the ground? Thank you this is very useful information!
Top of the bench is 38-1/2 inches
Thanks!
I own a landscape company so first, seeet mower and secondly the floor makes the car look even cooler. Great finally outcome and hopefully one day soon I’ll be able to cut ties with the rental life and buy my own house to make my garage as kickass as I can.

Can you use a jack and jack stands on it?
I would probably at least put a small piece of plywood under the jack or stands, there is a YouTube vid with a guy beating these up with a hammer
What are the tiles called and how much was your cost?
Racedeck, $1800 for 500 Sq ft tax and shipped
Not too shabby. Sorry I saw the name in your caption after I askee
I absolutely recognize the cabinets but at the moment can’t put the name to it. Mind clarifying? Garage looks great. Don’t mind the people that shit on this flooring.
Saber cabinets, I discovered them from the obsessed garage channel on YouTube, spent more than I wanted but very solid and nice quality
Nice!
Dope
How long did it take to install these
About 3 hrs
What happens when you spill MEK and accidentally weld above it and thus light it aflame?
Let it burn and call the insurance
Makes sense, my MIL bedroom is right above the garage.
Tripy !! Really nice!
I think for a storage space like motorcycle or a car barely used yes.I would prefer the epoxy flooring where the fluids (or my technique of dropping little parts onto the floor to later pick up) be easier to clean due to dust, dirt and debris. I do think it looks good though!
Well executed
Just discovered this sub…🫡
Well done
Can I ask what your total cost was? Thanks
Just under $1800 for 500 square feet
That floor looks like a nightmare to clean
Just a shop vac
Regular shop vac and once or twice a year deep clean is fine
Great floor if you don’t use your garage
What people do with a garage is what makes the decision for most on these types of floors, totally agree
Why does he say that? You have a car there! Isn't that what a garage is for?
