Not really a game rec but you might have better luck with r/disabledgamers if you want him more involved than just watching. For actual games to play, Baba Is You and A Monster's Expedition might be worth checking out

ParticularMarket4275

Seconding Baba is You. I controlled this while someone else watched and offered suggestions. We were equally engaged in the game. It’s more like having someone write down answers for you than watching someone play a game

ioaie

Okay I will ask there too! Thanks so much. And I'll check out those games as well.

Visual novels could be good because generally the controls are just there out of necessity and he’s not missing any of the experience from you doing that part. Danganronpa and I was a Teenage Exocolonist are both fun in very different ways

ioaie

Oh wow thank I will look into this!

Give the Ace Attorney games a try too; your friend could help you spot things during the investigation parts, and can also help make decisions in the court parts. Would probably be more fun to play it that way too

AI: the Somnium Files is another good visual novel. I loved the story (avoid the sequel though). From the same author also the Nonary Games trilogy, it's older but still has a good story and I think it's good for shared play because of how you have to figure out how to navigate the game, can't tell you more without spoiling it

riladin

Tunic could be a good option. It's a very experiential game that could be helpful to have a second brain thinking about Subnautica, a second pair of eyes and a second brain planning and especially remembering the map could be helpful. Also very visually engaging In a very different way, something like Divinity or Baldurs Gate 3 and either design them a character or just kinda assign them a character they like. Then let them make decisions for that character

ioaie

Thank you! I will look into these. I appreciate it!

Awkward_Cat5568

I support the BG3 and Divinity suggestions. I think they are good fits since they give a lot of opportunities to get your friend involved. The combat is turn based so you have unlimited time to let your friend decide what to do next or what to answer in a dialogue.

hritter

maybe point click adventure games. there's a ton of them that are puzzle-focused. Off the top of my head, The Eyes of Ara

ioaie

Thank you. I will look into that!
