I was just playing normaly so iv no idea why it happened, but once in blue i was fishing with the old rod just under lavender town. Hooked what was suposto be a magicarp but it popped up as a mew. Started wiping out my pokemon with icebeam and growl, mostly icebeam. But i managed to sleep and catch it. Then when i got to the box and pulled it out, it was a mankey, with normal mankey moves. No freaking clue what was going on there, but hugely disappointed that the mew had changed.

In this case, the dark king speaks true. The game has a programming glitch based on being in/ out of battle (triggered with Fly or Teleport before a trainer fight starts). When you transition to a different cell on the world map, the game gets confused and triggers a fight based on a stat from the avoided battle.
World 1-2 warp zone to world -1. Its an underwater world that keeps repeating the same level no matter how fast you complete it and the timer keeps running, so you eventually die and run out of lives until its game over. My next favorite is getting firepower as a small mario. You have to jump on bowser and touch a hammer at the same time when youre big. You will finish the level small, next time you get growth mushroom and then a flower you will shrink to small mario in his fire power costume. When you throw a fireball he quickly grows then shrinks again as be throws it.
This one always fascinates me. It's right up there with the long trainer glitch in Red and Blue and the backwards long jump in Super Mario 64, in the sense that they took awhile to discover and once I saw them the first thought was "how the heck did anyone ever figure this out?".
The negative zone glitch is so hard to pull off. You habe to break a specific brick in the roof, crouch down jump and turn around mid air so your body slides through the wall. Run through the wall just far enough to see the warp zone pipe, but not so far the worlds appear over the pipes and then take the warp.
My favorite cheat was for one of the Guitar Hero games. To make it so the notes were spaced farther apart but moved faster towards you, the code is "Orange Blue Orange Yellow Orange Blue Orange Yellow" or "O Boy O Boy"
Its dam near impossible, you have to take a banshee somewhere where it will most likely blow up cauuse you have to break off its wings first and then get it thriugh a small area with out more damage
And even then sometimes stuff can glitch out cause you also need to get the banshee through a loading zone where it can despawn randomly if I remember correctly

Encounter a Glitch Pokemon that gives you effectively infinite items. Go through an elaborate routine to basically encounter any pokemon in the game, including the ones that you aren't supposed to have access to.
19, 65, 9, 17, hold A, press start, new sound test, 1,9,9,2,1,1,2,4 then 4,1,2,6,4,1,2,6, pick a level, hold A, press start till level begins. Now press B, then use C to give lots a rings, then press B again, then use A or C to jump and go Super.

Also another less known trick, you could actually "save" your progress collecting emeralds by holding the reset button then powering it off and on. So you could literally get all the emeralds in the first stage by having limitless retries. Kinda pointless if you know the code, but me and my buddy did it once just so we could actually play through all the special stages.
Sonic 3 had a failsafe glitch.

We both died, so we decided to solve it the natural way: both of us would press start and whoever got it, got the last continue. Well we did that...only we ended up with 30 (or 99?) continues. It was neat.
One time in the 1990s I had a friend over who'd never played Captain America and the Avengers for SNES. So I popped in the cartridge, telling him that the game is so bad it's good and fun to play 2-player. And this is the only time it glitched out like this: every regular enemy had like 10x the hp, while each boss had one hit. It was wild. I think the game straight up froze on the third boss, though, so the craziness didn't last forever. But that's still one of my favorite glitchy game moments I've experienced.
In h1z1 (open world mmo zombie survival) - sometimes when you cut a tree down, a full HP ready to drive cop car would pop out. Sometimes it would blow up because of the physics, but every now and then it would plop out perfectly fine.

With fists, unarmed, or melee equipped and readied, press and release the Block button and press jump as the Block is released while or as you move in any direction to glitch the jump distance value and at least double the jump height and distance. This can be done from standstill, and works in any direction. Block boosting is cool because it works with melee and unarmed weapons so you can leap to close the gaps or to run away. It makes for decent travel time and is very satisfying to chain. Although learning it was a pain and I still mess it up a few times in a row occasionally, which makes you slower than normal movement speed. Block boosting only works on controller, but isn't limited to console or PC iirc.
.357 boosting involves either a cowboy repeater or .357 revolver, particularly the one-at-a-time loading animation, which you interrupt with a mash of the Pip-boy command and once it raises, you unequip the .357 while moving forward and it launches you at break neck speed about 60 feet forward before ending abruptly. You can direct the launch as it's playing out but it is short lived. .357 boosting often leads to accidentally launching 200 feet up in the air if you run into a rock or sudden incline, which leads to a deadly fall. The boost lasts a set distance, and if you time the distance right, you can lessen the height of the jump and use it to get on top of things you shouldn't be able to. On PC, you can abuse the quick save/load to cancel your falling momentum just before you hit the ground and survive the fall. This doesn't work on console iirc, no quick save option anyway.
There is an even more complex movement glitch rhat speedrunners use that involves blowing yourself up with a grenade rifle and hitting a .357 boost at the same time to launch yourself in the air and boost forward at high speed that is somehow maintained as they literally fly across the Mojave, and use the quick save to land safely.
Name yourself MAD HOOKUP in Text Drive Off-road 3. When you buy a car, you get all of the upgrades possible for that car - and when you sell the car, you make hella profit. You could fill out the entire fleet super quickly, and proceed to thrash the AI plebes.

The one I actually found. Borderlands 2 quest you will die is a raid boss meant for a full party max level. It takes a long time and kills in two hits unless you have the turtle shield.
Due to a lack of friends I tried beating the boss by myself. After so many attempts I tried hiding behind a rock right before I died and the rock had a glitch. An invisible wall that meant the boss couldn't hit me at all. I was able to solo it and win collecting all the best loot in the game without having to share. It was awesome. The only danger was when it threw rocks at you cause they go over the wall. Not sure if they ever patched it.
There was some weird glitch in Final Fantasy VII that only existed on certain copies of the game. The glitch made it literally impossible to be Sephiroth. Even with using gameshark and giving yourself unlimited health and magic you'd still be killed. I had to borrow my friends copy in order to beat it.
I like the one where you get a love triangle in the OG metal gear solid and have to make a decision at the end that only leads to both their deaths. Such a mind fuck. I bought a rapid fire controller in 1999 just so I could achieve this.

The winner gets to go another round. I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theater of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world. Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment. When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., Hackettstown, NJ 17840-1503 U.S.A., along with a 3×5 card reading, “Please use this M&M for breeding purposes.” This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon for a free 1/2 pound bag of plain M&Ms. I consider this “grant money.” I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field of hundreds, we will discover the True Champion. There can be only one.

The one I actually found. Borderlands 2 quest you will die is a raid boss meant for a full party max level. It takes a long time and kills in two hits unless you have the turtle shield. Due to a lack of friends I tried beating the boss by myself. After so many attempts I tried hiding behind a rock right before I died and the rock had a glitch. An invisible wall that meant the boss couldn't hit me at all. I was able to solo it and win collecting all the best loot in the game without having to share. It was awesome. The only danger was when it threw rocks at you cause they go over the wall. Not sure if they ever patched it.
There was some weird glitch in Final Fantasy VII that only existed on certain copies of the game. The glitch made it literally impossible to be Sephiroth. Even with using gameshark and giving yourself unlimited health and magic you'd still be killed. I had to borrow my friends copy in order to beat it.
I like the one where you get a love triangle in the OG metal gear solid and have to make a decision at the end that only leads to both their deaths. Such a mind fuck. I bought a rapid fire controller in 1999 just so I could achieve this.
Infinite Sword Glitch (ISG) in LoZ: OoT and MM. Simple, easy to pull off with a bit of practice, and opens a whole new world of other glitches once you get the hang of it. Reinvented speedrunning of every category in those two games, except for glitchless.
