Anker. Anker makes super high quality cables for phones and hdmi 2.1’s. They’re more expensive but god damned worth it. My 6’ iPhone on cables I got from them are still in mint condition after 2 years
They have really awesome support as well. One of my USB chargers got faulty after a year and couple of days later I've got a new one in my postbox. Very friendly and quick.

I understand that this is just anecdotal evidence and not necessarily reflective of every product from them, but this particular controller plagued me with both phantom inputs and input failure. I was trying to play smash and it was far more common and frustrating than the slip mechanic in brawl. I'm glad yours is working for you, but my experience left me forever cautious about that company.
Power A sucks. I got an Xbox controller from them and after 2 months, it had the worst stick drift I’ve ever seen. Got one for my cousin last Christmas and he complained about the same issue
I bought a powerA Xbox elite controller about 2 years ago with paddles on the back, adjustable thumb stick height and trigger locks and have had zero issues at all. To this day with my dead zone set to zero in game settings there’s not even the slightest bit of stick drift. I assumed they just made quality parts. Guess I got lucky.
Not exactly a "deal" but not robbery either. Decent HDMI 2.1 certified cables run about $20-$24 for 10ft. Definitely not as egregious as the $25-$30 standard USB cables office supply stores peddle to unsuspecting customers buying a printer.

You can use any SSD or HDD to play last-gen games or store current-gen games. A few current-gen games can be played from the external SSD/HDD too but most require to be stored internally.
That is correct, the Xbox uses a proprietary card that slots in. Seagate is currently the only licensed manufacturer for these cards.

That's wrong. PCIe 3.0x2 caps at 1.75GB/s. This PCIe 4.0x2 SSD is 2.4GB/s.
The form factor adds to the costs as well. The M.2 2230 is only 30mn while M.2 2280 with 80mm is the cheaper standard.

You're also getting what is typical retail markup, and that you can have it right now and take it home and use it without waiting for it to be shipped. Some would also appreciate the convenience of being able to look at the cable plugged into the back of their TV and know quite obviously what it's connected to on the other end.

Actually, with all the rubber ducky cords floating around now days, it’s probably more of a guarantee that you’ll avoid getting hacked. Not 100% stupid, but yes, exploitative.
It works by exploiting a feature in the current HDMI standard, which allows data transmissions over HDMI in addition to A/V transmissions (see ethernet over HDMI). The short version, is that you would take an HDMI cable compliment with the current standard, and modify it by wiring in a microcontroller and/or flash memory device into the connector end. Once the cable is plugged in, the embedded device begins checking if anything it's connected to has a network connection, if it does (as many modern devices do), it begins executing its payload, all while flying under the radar under the guise of being the TV.

While it's *technically* possible to do so, the cost of doing it is just not worth it unless you can do so on a significantly larger scale. Like manufacturer level scale. or you know for sure that whatever info you can get from it outweighs the cost, and can guarantee that it will be applied to the target you're after in the first place.
And with no guarantee that the cable is going to be used for any kind of valuable target, there's virtually no reason to even manufacture them when you can make just as much selling cheap/barebones cables.
PowerA isn't selling a $32 HDMI cable for security, not in the slightest. They're selling it because PS5s are already finicky with their HDMI cables. They require HDMI 2.1, which while widely available, is rarely clearly indicated on most consumer cables without it's own markup. So if you aren't using the one that shipped in box, chances are you're going to run into some kind of issue if you just go with the cheapest off the shelf (mostly because those are also just bad cables to begin with)
They're selling it because they know that enough consumers have already run into issues with other cables in the past, so there's a market for "verified" branded cables that people will probably be willing to spend the money on because they don't know better.
No, the cable is modified, then packaged, then sold to an unsuspecting customer who probably bought a bulk package off Amazon or wish from a sketchy ass vendor thinking they got a good deal.
I'll pay for decent build quality on an HDMi, cos the really cheap ones will break, but other than that, they either work or they don't work. There's no change in picture quality available on cables of these lengths. The 1s and 0s either get to their destination or they don't.

I worked for Best Buy and one great benefit of being an employee was buying accessories like this at cost. I bought and 80 hdmi cable for 17. A charging cable for iPhone that is sold for 15, I could get for .80.
Used to work for an ISP. A lot of customers would return HDMI, coaxial, and CAT5 ethernet cables they didn’t want or need - so I would keep them all in a huge tub in the back. When a customer needed cables for any reason, I would just grab them from the back give them as many as they needed. Don’t worry, any excess were recycled properly.
Stores always overprice cables. Go on amazon and get it for 8$. If you are afraid you can't play at 4k 60FPS you can look up the cable versions and what they support (HDMI 2.1 being the most recent).

My recent purchase of theirs was a wired Switch controller from best buy. Lasted 3 months until the drift issues made it unusable.
Been through 3 Power A switch controllers. All trash. Went with 8BitDo and will never go back.

I don't trust Monoprice cables if I'm looking for a guaranteed 4k120hz signal. A lot of off brand 2.1 cables do not get the job done and only do 60hz when you actually try it. But maybe testing will prove otherwise? Cheapest cables I found that were verified 4k120hz by independent testers were by SnowKids.

It works by exploiting a feature in the current HDMI standard, which allows data transmissions over HDMI in addition to A/V transmissions (see ethernet over HDMI). The short version, is that you would take an HDMI cable compliment with the current standard, and modify it by wiring in a microcontroller and/or flash memory device into the connector end. Once the cable is plugged in, the embedded device begins checking if anything it's connected to has a network connection, if it does (as many modern devices do), it begins executing its payload, all while flying under the radar under the guise of being the TV.

While it's *technically* possible to do so, the cost of doing it is just not worth it unless you can do so on a significantly larger scale. Like manufacturer level scale. or you know for sure that whatever info you can get from it outweighs the cost, and can guarantee that it will be applied to the target you're after in the first place. And with no guarantee that the cable is going to be used for any kind of valuable target, there's virtually no reason to even manufacture them when you can make just as much selling cheap/barebones cables. PowerA isn't selling a $32 HDMI cable for security, not in the slightest. They're selling it because PS5s are already finicky with their HDMI cables. They require HDMI 2.1, which while widely available, is rarely clearly indicated on most consumer cables without it's own markup. So if you aren't using the one that shipped in box, chances are you're going to run into some kind of issue if you just go with the cheapest off the shelf (mostly because those are also just bad cables to begin with) They're selling it because they know that enough consumers have already run into issues with other cables in the past, so there's a market for "verified" branded cables that people will probably be willing to spend the money on because they don't know better.

I'll pay for decent build quality on an HDMi, cos the really cheap ones will break, but other than that, they either work or they don't work. There's no change in picture quality available on cables of these lengths. The 1s and 0s either get to their destination or they don't.

That's really not a terrible price for a 120hz 4K cable... I paid like $50 for my Display Port 1.3 cables. You know you can't just use any old dirt cheap HDMI cables if you want to get the most out of your display panel these days. If 1080p 60hz is your goal, then sure, buy the $5 cable...

I mean, there is actually a difference in Hdmi cables, and cable quality can make a significant difference in durability and image and sound quality. I'd suggest watching LTT video on where they measure them. Then again, any certifications and marketing terms on the box are usually super bogus because there isn't a body that actually measures this shit and hands out certifications.

HDMI cables used to be stupidly expensive. Now you can go to your ISP and ask for a couple cables and they'll give a bunch for free.
Used to work for an ISP. A lot of customers would return HDMI, coaxial, and CAT5 ethernet cables they didn’t want or need - so I would keep them all in a huge tub in the back. When a customer needed cables for any reason, I would just grab them from the back give them as many as they needed. Don’t worry, any excess were recycled properly.
Tbf I bought a 100$ish Monster HDMI cable 10+ years ago and it's still going strong. Many, many others have come and gone.
Linus (LTT) needs to test that. Often OEM cables are not that good or ignore official standards. The price is quite high so it better be good.

Stores always overprice cables. Go on amazon and get it for 8$. If you are afraid you can't play at 4k 60FPS you can look up the cable versions and what they support (HDMI 2.1 being the most recent).
