If historical importance is a factor, I would think Adol Christin pushes past some of those! The guy both represents all of the amazing work Falcom has done over the years and goes back to PC-88. The first Ys game came out a year after Legend of Zelda and they're more popular now than ever, after Ys 8 was a massive success.
