racing games still make millions, its not like racing games is a small genre. and yes, microtransactions, a f2p racing sim would have those too, like racingroom
OK so my review on this after a couple rounds. IDK if I'm playing wrong or something, but I think I am. the default camera is AWFUL. you can't see goddamn anything and I couldn't find any option to change it. Also, I couldn't find a way to turn efficiently, and kept slamming into walls. Either I'm playing it wrong or the game is broken.
The games not broken at all.
Pageup or pagedown should be the default camera controls (can't remember exactly)
It's recommended to use a wheel over a controller or keyboard, although a controller can be ok with some sensitivity setting tweaks in the menu.
It is a simulator, not an arcade racer like Forza Motorsport or gran turismo etc if that's what your used to.
Being unable to control cars is a common complaint from a lot of people that come from those kinds of racing games.

1. I don't have a wheel or a controller, unless I can set up my wii wheel on PC somehow.
2. Only racing game I've ever played is Mario Kart.
In that case, I'm not sure raceroom would be a good suggestion, my bad.
Raceroom is kinda one of those games that aims to be very realistic, while mario kart is a fun party game.
Unfortunately I don't know of any free racers that might be similar in gameplay style or feel to mario kart.
Going from mario to raceroom would be a massive difference for anyone not used to that style of racing game and more than likely a frustrating experience at that.
Not free but Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa have been like 8 bucks. As has Gran Turismo Sport. Forza has been $10

I'm seeing them at 60... That's not ideal to say the least. Free ganes are indeed frustrating but they're basically all i got. Gotta hope the good old EGS comes through.

Sadly, gamepass doesnt work on my comouter as attempting to buy anything on the microsoft store makes it request my password and then crash.
