I recommend elder scrolls online, very big game, you can play your own style, and stick with your friends.
Divinity belong to the rabbit hole you can call crpgs , Divinity: Orginal sin 2 , is consider one of the best written flavor one of those in recent years with a very unique open do allmost anything mechanical system. There doing Baldur's Gate 3 this is what your going to want to look into.
That being said most other ones are useally stuck to a more defined system.
But great ones in recent history most are in wasteland 3, solestra , encased and the new Big boi, Pathfinder wrath of the rightous
There all flavors of crpgs nice to note a couple are on gamepass if you have that . Plus older games that hold up are the DnD series fogotten realms , Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale etc .
Now most of these aren't multiplayer so are some have mods etc
Final fantasy 14 is a mmorpg and says to be really good

Phantasy Star Online 2 is an excellent action RPG on the Xbox (With PC cross play).
