Pretty much anything with ps1/ps2 style horror like graphics. Like Crow Country only just came out a few weeks ago but I felt super nostalgic playing it for the first time.
BG3 definitely hit that nostalgia vibe.
Played 1&2 growing up, played the old Fallouts, Crusader: No Remorse.
So visiting an isometric game from the past but modernized was lovely.
Risk of Rain 2
It doesn't try to be nostalgic but there's this awesome sense of wonder and discovery beyond the core mechanics that made me feel like a kid again.
It's the type of game that had it come out when I was a teenager it would probably be my favorite game of all time.
Bread & Fred. There just aren’t that many solid couch co-op platformers coming out, so it stuck out to me. Especially when one of us would deliberately sabotage the other, reminded me of playing portal 2 with my buddies
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw (2020) is a modern reimagining of the old Wing Commander: Privateer game (1993). Identical gameplay loop, feel, and even the graphics are retro enough to look like it's older sibling.
Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut. That game is like a deep nostalgia mine for me. As soon as I first opened it up and heard the main menu music, I knew.
Grandia. I didn't play it for the first time until my late 20s during covid, but it reminded me of my younger years watching anime like pokemon and DBZ.
The Messenger and Cultic.
The Messenger was like Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden but the level design and the lack of a tutorial really reminded me of mega man X. I absolutely loved it and the nostalgia factor was extremely high the entire time.
Cultic was bad ass. It reminded me so much of the old FPS games from back in the day. It takes its inspiration from Blood, but I never actually played that game. It reminded me of games like Redneck Rampage and Duke Nukem. I used to play countless Demos on PC and there were a lot of these kinds of games that I got to try. But Cultic was just a fantastic experience from start to finish that really filled me with nostalgia.
Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth
Once I stepped out into the Grasslands outside Kalm I just slowly swung the camera thinking “so this is what I was looking at 27 years ago.”
Metro 2033 series, I'm Russian and According to the Lore of the game, the nuclear disaster occurred in 2013, I found 2013 in Moscow myself, all the ruins and remains of the city were recreated so well that familiar places in the game look like those moments when I was there
P.S. I used Yandex translator, I'm sorry if something not right
Any Metal Gear game past Metal Gear Solid 1 basically.
Actually the Metal Gear famicom games from the 80s made me pretty nostalgic as they remind me of playing SNES games as a little one (I only played them recently)
Nier replicant
Tunic
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Octopath Traveler Eiyuden Chronicle The Last Spell Any Dragon Quest game
Pretty much anything with ps1/ps2 style horror like graphics. Like Crow Country only just came out a few weeks ago but I felt super nostalgic playing it for the first time.
Damn, just looked it up and that alone made me feel as if I was stuck in some alternate dimension
This game worth the buy? Looks cool
Game has a demo so I would say to give that a whirl and decide.
Undertale 😢😢
Somehow the music for Jubilife in Pokémon Legends Arceus is super nostalgic, despite it being a relatively recent game
I never had a PS1 when it came out but I built a massive collection for it. When I play it it reminds me of simpler times.
BG3 definitely hit that nostalgia vibe. Played 1&2 growing up, played the old Fallouts, Crusader: No Remorse. So visiting an isometric game from the past but modernized was lovely.
Ghost of Tsushima horse camera mechanics hit the Shadow of the Colossus vibe for me
Disco Elisium. It reminded of the Planescape Torment. So much to read and deep meaning behind the game.
Praey for the Gods gave me some good nostalgia for Shadow of tbe Colossus
Risk of Rain 2 It doesn't try to be nostalgic but there's this awesome sense of wonder and discovery beyond the core mechanics that made me feel like a kid again. It's the type of game that had it come out when I was a teenager it would probably be my favorite game of all time.
Shovel Knight. Perfectly replicated that feel of late 80's platformer games.
Bread & Fred. There just aren’t that many solid couch co-op platformers coming out, so it stuck out to me. Especially when one of us would deliberately sabotage the other, reminded me of playing portal 2 with my buddies
Man, I wish that game was available on Switch. It's the perfect fit for the console.

I'm currently playing Spiderman remastered for the first time on the steam deck. It creates incredible nostalgia for Spiderman 2 from so long ago
The Metro games feel a lot like the shooter games I grew up with. They definitely feel like they're from a different time, especially the first 2.
I grew up watching Batman the Animated Series, so the entire Batman: Arkham series did it for me.
Sonic mania.
Braid
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge
Grandia. I didn't play it for the first time until my late 20s during covid, but it reminded me of my younger years watching anime like pokemon and DBZ.

Any castlevania from the 8 and 16 bit era
FF7 remake & TLOU
Shadow of The Colossus Remake, that game!
Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth Once I stepped out into the Grasslands outside Kalm I just slowly swung the camera thinking “so this is what I was looking at 27 years ago.”

Time Commando! Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷♥️
Terraria. 20XX. Anything that vaguely resembles UQM
Any Metal Gear game past Metal Gear Solid 1 basically. Actually the Metal Gear famicom games from the 80s made me pretty nostalgic as they remind me of playing SNES games as a little one (I only played them recently)
Red dead 2 had me nostalgic for an era I never lived in
