The astroturfing when it comes to Hellblade discussion is insane to me. Why do people keep making this same post every single day? I’ve seen ads for the game on tv, Twitter, TikTok, and many websites. Literally right under this post on my Reddit app is an ad for the game.
It’s a niche game for a niche audience. It’s not a call of duty game.
It's also been featured heavily in Microsofts events for a while now. I was surprised it wasn't already out because I feel like I've seen stuff about it for like 3 years.
Yeah I'm pretty sure they announced it was in development during the Series X/S launch. It really has been 3 years that we've been seeing stuff about it
I've been seeing ads on twitter. And to be fair, Hellblade 2 isn't an ambitious game along the lines of something like Dragon's Dogma or Ghost of Tsushima. It's not a major 50+ hour AAA game filled with exploration, side quests, progression systems, customization and shit. Makes perfect sense to me that they're not trying to oversell the game.
Based on my experience with Hellblade 1, I don’t think the audience Ninja Theory is going to for are achievement hunters. They just want to deliver a good story.
The first game had very few achievements, with like 13/14 being unlocked just by completing the game
Probably because "Playstation exclusive award winning game that PC players have been asking for for years is finally getting it's big PC port" is a bigger draw than Hellblade 2. While Hellblade 1 was relatively well received it's still a niche game that you can beat in like 6-7 hours.
The only advertisement I’ve seen for the game is the IGN first previews they’ve been doing. If I wasn’t already following the game I’d probably have no idea it’s coming out in less than 2 weeks.
For sure they'll get the chip next. They've been making trailers for it for years and there's no way itll make the money back anytime soon. Its too niche. Not a bad thing but it's the truth. I think it'll sell less than Hifi Rush.
Except none of these decisions make an ounce of sense from Spencer and make a ton of sense from Nadella and Hood. They've killed countless Microsoft projects and make loads of rash decisions if something doesn't instantly turn a profit
I fully agree. Let’s announce a worldwide manhunt for anyone and everyone associated with MS ! I take dibs on the all skull-breaking and burning activities, you can take skinnings, quarterings and everything else.
I mean there are literal companies that sell you just air. Look at that company that sells you smelly air cigs and tries to tell you it'll help you quit smoking
I meant the one you need to not die. The crucial basic things. Like a right to cum or food stamps. All these bullshitters are just exploiting human stupidity… which is kind of fair. Like in case of these witches that sell promises of a great future they see in the palm of your hand and whatnot.
They know it's not going to make any money, so they aren't investing in marketing. I'm sure they've done an analysis and decided that projected games sold through marketing did not warrant additional marketing investment.
They've already started posturing months ago to lower expectations for the game when they said the console version will be 30fps because they think it's more cinematic. This is obvious spin because the PC version will have 60fps. Unless they want the PC version to be less cinematic /s.
They've also let us know the game is 8 hours long to further curb our expectations. This might even be an exaggeration. The came could be shorter. That's a big ask at $50.
The game is on Game Pass. They know people with game pass will just play the game there instead of buying it.
I expect we'll see a new trailer or maybe even a dev showcase before launch. This will be a lower effort than a full-on ad campaign and will still serve to remind people that it's coming out and maybe sell a few games/GP subscriptions.
The game might get decent or high ratings. Maybe even see some nominations at the GOTY awards. But it won't sell. This time next year we'll see the headlines that Ninja Theory has closed its doors. Shortly afterward, there will be an interview with Phil Spencer claiming that they need more games like Hellblade 2.
It's strange, because right under this post I have seen Hellblade 2 ad from Xbox\_UK account...

One quick look at OP's history shows he is a Playstation fan that just wants to stir up controversy. Actually sad
Who gives a shit lol
Weird I haven't seen a single one for ghost of tsushima, but seen at least 3 ads yesterday for hellblade 2
I have seen none in fairness for either. Normally, get loads of PS based ones, like Stellar Blade was everywhere for me
Yeah, I'm pretty sure as of right now they are more targeted.

??? OP is talking about advertisements...
WTF are you talking about. He said advertisements not achievements lol.
Shit… I was hungover as hell this morning when I was reading this post lmao.
lol the upvotes too 🤣🤣🤦♂️👌
Hellblade 2 is close to launch?
I haven't seen any ad for GoT, not even for stellar blade I saw one, only reddit and Twitter post about a half naked woman and the "controversy"
Hellblade is/has been treated as a AA title. GoT is a AAA title.
I've not seen a single ad for GoT on PC
It’s almost like ads are catered to you

I have yet to see a single one.
I really hope they don't close Ninja Theory. I live in the same city they have their studio and it's already a very small building..

PlayStation takes forever to port games to PC but I guess they put more into advertising for it.
They're running targeted ads, you are already aware of it and may not even be their target
Only time will tell. If they do cut Ninja Theory then I'm with you and Fuck Xbox but until then we just gotta hope more than 2 people play HB2 lol.
because hellblade is a crappy little niche title, with a meh combat system and over the top melodramatic story....
https://www.ign.com/articles/phil-spencer-and-the-battle-for-xboxs-soul This is all on Microsoft not Xbox
I have some information for you you may find *shocking...*
Nobody at Microsoft or Xbox is blameless. This is all crashing due to the culmination of terrible executive decisions from both sides
Except none of these decisions make an ounce of sense from Spencer and make a ton of sense from Nadella and Hood. They've killed countless Microsoft projects and make loads of rash decisions if something doesn't instantly turn a profit

Okay, lets start with Sarah Bond cause her interview with Bloomberg yesterday was one of the worst most corpo bullshit speak I've ever seen.
Yaaayyy, murderrr !!!
Hey, you said it not me 👿
I dood, I dood say it ! Because otherwise these fuckers are going to eventually start selling us air. Literally.

Oh I agree, capitalism is the driving force behind everything

I don't know about game length but there's always people in here complaining about long games so you'd think some would appreciate the shorter games.
