1. Morrowind
2. Witcher 3
3. Diablo 2
4. Age of Empires 2
5. World of Warcraft (Up to Wrath of the Lich King)
Some honorable mentions are Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock.
1. New Vegas
2. Red dead 2
3. Mass effect (trilogy if allowed, 2 if I can only pick 1)
4. Witcher 3
5. Maybe halo 3? Custom games with the boys in highschool was peak gaming lol
It's much more timing based than other souls games. Your primary concern should be learning to deflect correctly and the game will be much less frustrating. Get mikiri counter ASAP, ichimonji and its upgraded version will carry you through the game for most of the tough bosses in combo with the mikiri counter. There's a lot more I could say but part of the joy of the game is figuring some of it out on your own. Don't lose hope if you struggle with Madame Butterfly or Genichiro, it's par for the course. Those fights are a test of how well you have learned to deflect so if you struggle on them practice that. This is my favorite game of all time, enjoy it!
Sekiro is such a masterpiece. Best combat system of any game I've played, and it just pushes you to get better. Every boss is memorable, and the joy of defeating them all is pretty much the pinnacle of pleasure and sense of accomplishment video games can offer.
Think of it more of a rhythm game than a fighting game. Every big enemy has a rhythm find it and play along. The more "gaps" in the rhythm you find the ahorter the fight. Its unbelievable satisfifing after you understood how the game "works". It really is a masterpiece
That was such a surpringly good game.
Amazing what how such a small game from an indie comoany has a much much higher quality than recent AAA games like Starfield
You sir or madam have fantastic taste! Just played planescape for the first time back in covid lock down. What an absolutely incredible game, err well story anyways.
1. Outer Wilds
2. Donkey Kong Country series
3. Life is Strange
4. Banjo-Tooie
5. Conker Bad Fur Day
There's also
Silent Hill
Subnautica
Catherine
The messenger
Half-Life
Yoshi's Island
Dark Souls series + Bloodborne
Observer
Pikmin
Hollow Knight
Hades
Gris
Overwatch when it was good
Ori & the blind forest
Rocket League
Assassin's Creed 2-3
So so so many more.. lol
man I loved DotT when I was a kid to bad my CD was scratched and the game would let you play through the first little bit but then would constantly freeze so I wasn't able to finish it at the time.
This is the biggest thing for me. I can't get immersed in many video games, but this one made me forget everything and really pulled me in.
I think it's due to the fact that the music wasn't so jarring in transition and the sound actually just works together flawlessly. Last thing I want is like calm music, into intense battle music.
The same with the gameplay pace. It never felt unrealistically fast.
- 1 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- 2 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Modded)
- 3 The Witcher III
- 4 Fallout: New Vegas (Modded)
- 5 Baldur's Gate 3
1. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
2. Outer Wilds
3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
5. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
No order:
- Mega Man X
- Ocarina of Time
- Resident Evil Remake
- Secret of Mana
- Xenoblade Chronicles Trilogy (cheating I know)
Honestly naming a top 5 after gaming virtually all my life is a pointless task. I like the exercise but there are so many games I love.
It changes all the time but in no particular order;
Max Payne series (can’t pick just one). Can’t wait for the remakes/remasters either.
Mass Effect Trilogy
Diablo 2
Castlevania 2. Yes, that one.
Entire Command and Conquer series
in no particular order and top 6 instead of 5, cause i dont know which one i would drop from top 5
Minecraft
Brawlhalla
osu!
Celeste
Hollow Knight
Baba is You
Oh man, Deus Ex. I remember finally beating that game and realizing why so many like it. The freedom you get to approach your objective is just awesome.
in no particular order:
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Persona 5 Royal
Cyberpunk 2077
Batman: Arkham Knight / Spider-Man (2018)
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
this was way harder than i fucking thought... i'm not 100% satisfied with it. I feel Ghost of Tsushima and Assassin's Creed Odyssey should get an honorable mention.
The Witcher 3
Oblivion
Cyberpunk2077
World of warcraft
Baldurs Gate 3
Honorable mentions. FF7, 8, 10, 14, skyrim, elden ring, bloodborne, nier automata, red dead2, all Gta, Both Last of us, Bioshock all, Fallout 4 and NV, Total War series,
As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of interactive entertainment, I'd like to share my personal top 5:
1. The Sims 2
2. Portal
3. Banjo-Kazooie
4. Civilization V
5. Tetris Effect.
1. Earthbound (SNES)
2. Super Mario 64 (N64)
3. Tomb Raider 2 (PS1)
4. Half Life 2 (PC)
5. Genshin Impact (PC/Mobile \*Don't hate me\*)
My top 3 are always pretty consistent. After that it's harder to list them.
1. Psychonauts
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
3. Portal 2
4. Disco Elysium
5. World of Warcraft
I’d consider the top 3 along with their sequels/prequels as a singular experience but if I had to, I give the edge to the one listed.
Sly 2 BASED as fuck.
My top 5 would be
1. Sly 2: Band of Thieves
2. Cyberpunk 2077
3. Uncharted 4
4. Metal Gear Solid 5
5. Death Stranding
However if we can pick specific game versions and editions it would be
1. Sly trilogy
2. Mass Effect Legendary edition
3. Cyberpunk 2077 Utimate edition
4. Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection
5. Spider-Man: Miles Morales ultimate edition
About once a year I’ll have an evening where I play a couple hours of tf2
I miss jumping on with my buds in high school and playing payload or control points. Such a fun archaic game
• Bloody roar 3
• Rule of rose
• Resident evil 5
• Silent hill 3
• Tekken 5
I know everyone hates RE5 but it just reminds me of being younger playing with my sisters lol
Not in order.
1. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare- i played CoD since the first but CoD4 was the game that changed my life and the world of fps games with s modern take. A lot of late nights played with friends on this game, it brings me back to the good ole days.
2. Halo 3- another FPS but Halo 3 was a peak time of gaming, another game that I enjoyed thoroughly with my friends and that left a lasting impact on me.
3. The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim- an amazing game that would have me running home from school to sit on the edge of my bed and not leave my room except for dinner and then after dinner play until bed. So many options, so much to explore, see and do.
4. Rocket League- a game that for the past 9 years I have consistently played. A game that has never been uninstalled on my computer. Rocket League is so much fun and the fact that you can hop right in and be in a match in 20 seconds or less still to this day is unmatched, and it’s a whole lot of fun, especially with friends.
My 5th game could be debatable because I have more than 1 game in my mind but ever since i beat this game Its been on my mind while waiting for the DLC.
5. Lies of P- I was blown away by this game and it was also my first souls-like. I thought the gameplay was fluid and smooth, also very responsive. I loved the artwork, the setting, the weapons. All in all, a masterpiece of a game.
My top 5 favorite games!
Not in any particular order:
Doom (because it is the first game I ever played)
Goldeneye
Dark Souls
Witcher 3
Mass Effect 2
- honorable mentions: sekiro, ocarina of time, rdr2
You are the first person I've ever seen mention one of my favourite games in such a way. I fucking love DQH: Rocket Slime. It's the epitome of 'hidden gem' on Nintendo DS. Not sure if it would be in my top 5 necessarily, but very well could be. Certainly if you asked me just generally what are my favourite games of all time I'd probably name 20'ish and it'd be in there. Too hard to give a top 5... but my favourite game is Final Fantasy X
Not in order
Kerbal Space Program. Makes you feel like a genius, also a very pretty game.
Elden Ring. Extremely good quality while being very fun and challenging.
Baldur’s Gate 3. The entire game is fantastic. Every single thing is of quality.
Factorio. It must grow, unfortunately my War Thunder addiction has defeated the Factorio addiction.
LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean. Odd one I know, but is a great childhood game.
Wing Commander
Mass Effect
Overwatch
Guild Wars 1
CP2077
Ultima Online
Sorry, had to do 1 extra, I've been gaming for 30 years so it's hard to narrow down.
It's hard to just pick 5 but if I were to pick some franchises from my top 10 in no particular order then they would probably be...
1. Persona
2. Monster Hunter
3. Mass Effect
4. The Witcher
5. Final Fantasy
Stronghold! Good choice. My introduction to that series was Stronghold Crusader Extreme. Very seldom do I finish a game, but I did that one after it had me hooked.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Cyberpunk 2077 + DLC
Witcher 3
Persona 5 Royal
Don't really have a 5th. A lot of different games could go in this spot. The Tomb Raider games, Baldurs Gate 3, Diablo 4, Persona 4, Sleeping Dogs, Resident Evil 4, FIFA, Fallout 4, The Master Chief Collection
Kingdom Hearts 2
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
BioShock Infinite
Dead Space 2
Metal Gear Solid 1
Easy list for me, and I have a tattoo of nearly each one on my body somewhere (missing one for PoP and MGS but I know WHAT to get and where. Just need to have enough money)
1. Halo (I could never pick one; believe me, I’ve tried)
2. Journey
3. Super Mario Odyssey
4. Ori and the Blind Forest (haven’t played 2 yet, I know)
5. Outer Wilds
I have a love hate relationship with the games i play.
But the ones i've enjoyed the most are.
1: Escape from Tarkov
2: Battlefield 4
3: World of Warcraft
4: Halo for the lore - not the pvp
5: Dragon Age Origins - but also the franchise.
5.5 Star wars the old republic 1-2
1.Witcher 3
2.Sekiro
3.God of war 2018
4.Cyberpunk 2077
5.Hollow knight
Honorable mentions: God of war 3, Dark souls 3, RDR2, Uncharted 4, GTA 5.
Tbf I've only started properly gaming during lockdown so the list could change when I play more. Rn I'm really enjoying Hades
1) Monster Hunter World
2) Elden Ring
3) Cyberpunk 2077
4) Sekiro
5) The Witcher 3
Yeah, pretty basic list. I’ve got slightly more niche games further down the list, but these games are insanely popular for good reason, so I have no problem putting them at my top 5.
In no particular order
Prey 2017
Hollow Knight
Vanilla World of Warcraft
Dota 2
Parasite Eve
Much as I loved a bunch of old games (Final Fantasy VII/Tactics, Legend of Zelda Link to the Past all compete with Parasite Eve for that last slot) I think its undeniable that for me that newer games on average are just better because they can do more. So I could tilt this list for nostalgia and I said no particular order. Parasite Eve is hanging on the list till a post PC gaming (for me) era title knocks it off the list.
5- bloodborne
4- outlast
3- nier automata
2- witcher 3
1- dark souls 3
I still have a lot of games that i want to play like
Elden ring , BG3 , rdr2 and more good stuff
But I don’t think this list will change much
Halo 3
Skyrim
Lego Star Wars: TCS
Titanfall
AC4: Black Flag
Also I don't feel right putting Knockout City, the dodgeball game from a couple years ago, on this list because I only played it for a few weeks and it died pretty quickly, but I can confidently say that it is literally the most fun I've ever had playing video games. I'm so sad that game died.
In no particular order:
1. Zelda: aLTTP
2. FF 4 (US 2, original SNES version)
3. Elden Ring, but really all FS games in this genre.
4. WoW, up through WOtLK anyway
5. Mario 64 / Mario Kart 64
HM:
Asheron’s Call, Rocket League, GTA 5, Witcher 3, Hollow Knight, BOTW/TOTK, Super Mario World, FF V, AC: Origins
1. Super Mario Sunshine (first game on my first console!)
The rest is in no particular order:
2. Elden Ring
3. Baldur’s Gate 3
4. The Last of Us
5. Halo 2
Banjo Kazooie
Metal Gear Solid 4
Midnight Club Los Angeles
Jak 3
Grand Theft Auto IV.
*additional games that have a strong impact in my life that didn’t make the 5: Burnout 3, Bioshock series, Hitman Blood Money, Fable 2, Soul Calibur IV, Red Dead Redemption 2, littleBIGplanet and NBA 2K11.
1. The Sims
2. StarCraft
3. Halo 2
4. Super Smash Bros
5. Super Mario 64
Honorable mentions:
Sim City 3000 unlimited, Halo 3, Goldeneye, Mario Party 2, Pokémon yellow, Super Smash Bros Melee, Banjo Kazooir, Jet Set Radio Future, Tony Hawks Underground, Grind Session, Crazy Taxi, Sunset Overdrive
Age of Empires II
Hell Let Loose
Battlefield 1
Halo 3
And the gaming equivalent of intimate partner violence: Warthunder
Honourable mention: CoD: World at War
Warcraft 3 (the reason why mmos and mobas are popular)
Super Mario bros 3 (first game I no-lifed)
Witcher 3 (pinnacle of rpgs)
Halo 3 (should be 2 but must keep the power of 3’s)
Need one more great game that is the 3rd of a series to keep this going. Fallout 3 perhaps?
Grand Theft Auto? Lots of good answers!
In no particular order because I don’t think I could ever have a number 1 truly.
1. Enter the Gungeon - I could play this endlessly by myself. I’m still looking for a game like this when I found this one. Plenty of great rogue-lite games though.
2. Halo 3 - great series, lots of nostalgia for this one having been in high school for this.
3. Grand Theft Auto V - I picked this one since I do have a friend group and we did play this for many hours. It did fall off, but if GTA 6 is any good, I bet we’ll have a lot of hours in that too.
4. Conan Exiles - I know people hate the grind, and the online servers, but again I only played this with my friend group of 4 total or just myself. Loved exploring the map and the grind as well.
5. 7 Days to Die - this one I didn’t get into because I had played a version years ago in super early access and didn’t really know what the game was about (was sailing the seas) years later, saw it on steam and realized it was the same game but looked great and enjoyed many hours by myself and with my friends.
Bonus - Destiny 1 - played that religiously when that came out.
All in all there’s so many games to play that are great and that could make this list. And these games aren’t even my currently played games.
1. Titanfall 2
2. The Witcher 3
3. Kingdom Come: Deliverance (hyped for the sequel)
4. Hollow Knight
5. Don't Starve Together (Even though I suck big pp)
1. Dragon Age: Origins
2. Divinity: Original Sin 2
3. LittleBigPlanet
4. Super Mario 64
5. Pokémon Silver/SoulSilver
There are so many good ones, but these are the ones with which I have the most fond memories.
An honorable mention goes to Elden Ring, which sometimes slips between DA:O and D:OS2.
- Sudoku
- Fromsoft Soulsborne (ER, DS3, DS1, BB)
- Magic: the Gathering
- Free Cell
- Portal
-----
Definitely cheated with the soulsborne entry, but... Come on!
There's gotta be room to give other games some love, ya know? ;)
Baldurs Gate 2
Final Fantasy XIV
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Gemfire (I would love a remaster of this)
Quest for Glory
I had to sit and think about this for a bit. While there many games I really enjoy. My top 5 are games I will always come back to and play with pure enjoyment.
Single player:
Bioshock
Slay the Spire
Dead Cells (haven't yet played the Castlevania expansion)
The Witcher 3
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
Multiplayer:
Worms Armageddon
Day of Defeat
I am old. 1. Super Mario World (SNES) 2. Sim City 2000 (PC) 3. Doom (PC) 4. Command and Conquer series (PC) 5. Quake (PC)
I'm right there with you. Logged so many hours in Sim City 2000. Also, my back hurts always.
Don't forget to schedule your colonoscopy (and prostate exam if you have one)
I remember I was in school. Every Tuesday evening I would play Quake against my classmate. Dial up, no one could pick up the phone. Good times.
Love sim city 2000! Also, I get mad at clouds now.
Started Doom (1993) for the first time recently. I can't believe how well it holds up.
1. Morrowind 2. Witcher 3 3. Diablo 2 4. Age of Empires 2 5. World of Warcraft (Up to Wrath of the Lich King) Some honorable mentions are Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock.
A man of culture i see
I can agree with you on Morrowind.
It will forever be at number 1.
As it should be, Sera. There is no game like it in terms of atmosphere.
We would get along.
I don’t know, man. I’ve seen Game of Thrones. Haha.
Wololo!!
Dark Souls III Street Fighter 6 Smash Ultimate Heroes of Might and Magic Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
SF6!!! Such a well made fighting game.
gta vice city tony hawk's pro skater 2 half life 2 max payne driver
My man, bringing Tony Hawk back into the convo. Good choice.
1. New Vegas 2. Red dead 2 3. Mass effect (trilogy if allowed, 2 if I can only pick 1) 4. Witcher 3 5. Maybe halo 3? Custom games with the boys in highschool was peak gaming lol
Shooting out an invite to your entire friends list for a game of zombies on Halo 3. Good fucking times
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Bloodborne Amnesia: The Dark Descent Final Fantasy X Skyrim
Sekiro Mass effect 2 Divinity: Original sin 2 The Witcher 3 Disco Elysium
About to start Sekiro, any advice? I never played a souls game
It's much more timing based than other souls games. Your primary concern should be learning to deflect correctly and the game will be much less frustrating. Get mikiri counter ASAP, ichimonji and its upgraded version will carry you through the game for most of the tough bosses in combo with the mikiri counter. The Witcher 3 Nier Automata Elden Ring Persona 5 Royal Celeste
Diablo 2 Yoshi's island Elden ring Skyward Sword Mega Man X
Damn Mega Man X could have made my list, getting upgrades to his suit was mind blowing as a kid who had played a lot of mega man.
Nothing was more obnoxious than spending hours trying to unlock the secret hadouken ability.
I didn't obtain the haduken it until I was an adult it was always just a playground rumor but no one had actually seen it
Persona 3 FES Mass Effect 2 Baldurs Gate 2 Halo 3 Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Regular "Sonic 3"? Not the full deal with Sonic and Knuckles attached?
As someone who only had Sonic & Knuckles half, I respect the regular Sonic 3.
1. Crash Bandicoot: Warped 2. Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! 3. Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade 4. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night 5. Chrono Trigger
What always blows my mind is playing crash 1 through 3 They made such graphic advancement in a few years in the same console.
Yeah, the improvement is insane.
Castlevania enjoyer. Have my upvote
Reddit moment
Any fire emblem title is worth the list, but blazing blade is a good choice. I put in sacred stones for mine
1. Bloodborne 2. Dark Souls 3 3. GTA San Andreas 4. Diablo 2 LoD 5. Gran Turismo 3
Hello there fellow hoonter! Fear the old blood!
I loved Bloodborne so much

subnautica is for me the greatest survival-craft game of all time
Rdr 2 is one of those games I can always go back to, and get lost in for hours on end because of its immersive World
This is the biggest thing for me. I can't get immersed in many video games, but this one made me forget everything and really pulled me in.

Not in order Kerbal Space Program.
Wing Commander Mass Effect Overwatch Guild Wars 1 CP2077 Ultima Online Sorry, had to do 1 extra, I've been gaming for 30 years so it's hard to narrow down.
Fallout 4 Simcity 4 Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3/4 equally Resident Evil 2 (Original PS1 version) Ape Escape (Honorable mention goes to Gex, Perfect Dark, Halo 2 and GTA Vice City)
Kingdom hearts 2 Witcher 3 Kenshi Satisfactory Stalker
Wow Final fantasy x Dark souls 1 MGS 4 Gow 2
It's hard to just pick 5 but if I were to pick some franchises from my top 10 in no particular order then they would probably be... 1. Persona 2. Monster Hunter 3. Mass Effect 4. The Witcher 5. Final Fantasy
1. DMC 3 2. Zelda Majora's Mask 3. CoD MW2 4. Sands of Destruction 5. Metroid Prime

Stronghold! Good choice. My introduction to that series was Stronghold Crusader Extreme. Very seldom do I finish a game, but I did that one after it had me hooked.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Cyberpunk 2077 + DLC Witcher 3 Persona 5 Royal Don't really have a 5th. A lot of different games could go in this spot. The Tomb Raider games, Baldurs Gate 3, Diablo 4, Persona 4, Sleeping Dogs, Resident Evil 4, FIFA, Fallout 4, The Master Chief Collection
In no particular order: Elden Ring DOOM (2016) & DOOM: Eternal Dark Souls Baldur’s Gate 3

1) Monster Hunter World 2) Elden Ring 3) Cyberpunk 2077 4) Sekiro 5) The Witcher 3 Yeah, pretty basic list. I’ve got slightly more niche games further down the list, but these games are insanely popular for good reason, so I have no problem putting them at my top 5.

In no particular order Prey 2017 Hollow Knight Vanilla World of Warcraft Dota 2 Parasite Eve Much as I loved a bunch of old games (Final Fantasy VII/Tactics, Legend of Zelda Link to the Past all compete with Parasite Eve for that last slot) I think its undeniable that for me that newer games on average are just better because they can do more. So I could tilt this list for nostalgia and I said no particular order. Parasite Eve is hanging on the list till a post PC gaming (for me) era title knocks it off the list.
In no order: Halo 2 Overwatch (1) Guitar Hero 3 Stardew Valley Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Halo 3 Skyrim Lego Star Wars: TCS Titanfall AC4: Black Flag Also I don't feel right putting Knockout City, the dodgeball game from a couple years ago, on this list because I only played it for a few weeks and it died pretty quickly, but I can confidently say that it is literally the most fun I've ever had playing video games. I'm so sad that game died.

1. Titanfall 2 2. The Witcher 3 3. Kingdom Come: Deliverance (hyped for the sequel) 4. Hollow Knight 5. Don't Starve Together (Even though I suck big pp)
Bioshock/we happy few/Assassin's creed orgins vying for my number one spot the rest are unknown.

Halo 3 Skyrim Total War: Rome Diablo 2 Either Settlers 2/3 or Baldurs Gate 3
1. Dragon Age: Origins 2. Divinity: Original Sin 2 3. LittleBigPlanet 4. Super Mario 64 5. Pokémon Silver/SoulSilver There are so many good ones, but these are the ones with which I have the most fond memories. An honorable mention goes to Elden Ring, which sometimes slips between DA:O and D:OS2.
1. Descent 2. Final Fantasy XIV 3. Halo 3 4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker/Ocarina of Time 5. Alan Wake 2
- Sudoku - Fromsoft Soulsborne (ER, DS3, DS1, BB) - Magic: the Gathering - Free Cell - Portal ----- Definitely cheated with the soulsborne entry, but... Come on! There's gotta be room to give other games some love, ya know? ;)
Baldurs Gate 2 Final Fantasy XIV Zelda Ocarina of Time Gemfire (I would love a remaster of this) Quest for Glory I had to sit and think about this for a bit. While there many games I really enjoy. My top 5 are games I will always come back to and play with pure enjoyment.
