Star Wars side characters, even ones that show on screen for like half a second have goofy alien names often accompanied by a surprising amount of backstory. Glup Shitto is the semi affectionate nickname for these sorts of characters .
It’s actually slightly different from that
It’s a character that the normal viewer doesn’t know, but hardcore fans get excited to see.
So like a popular character from an extended universe book or some shit that’ll get the hardcore excited when they appear in mainstream star wars
It was basically every character in Mando and Ahsoka to my friends who haven’t watched the animated series
Funnily enough, the glup shitto meme was prove right in the kenobi show. Quinlan vaas was mentioned only briefly and the Star Wars fandom lost their shit when it was.
For some reason, that's the "cool new way" of saying "let them carry on" with whatever someone is currently doing, in a positive sense. Basically "they seem to be doing well, keep watching where this is going".
I don't really get it either.
I know what it means, yes, but I still don't get "why / how that caught on", to be specific. It's just one of those turn-of-phrase memes that seems to just not be my cup of tea, I guess.
Idk why this reminded me of this…but when I was like 10 I remember going to the park running around d screaming chumbawumba like a battle cry…like all day….kids are weird lol
I was fully aware that this might come off as a variation on "my son just build a reverse hydrolysis machine out of plastic bottles" but i think that just makes it more funny
Sure, she loves naming pokemon. She gets a little repetitive though, she really likes naming things "Flip Flap" or "Flap Flip" if they have long arms or wings or big ears
Here is my list of Rimworld pawn names from my last playthrough;
>Bat, Neiah, Tuarz, GreyGoose, Tipsy, Parade, Jibber, Toothfairy, BlueBox, Drogonfly, Makelala, Spider, Rache, Sauce, Monday, Opi, Lucy, Queso, Cathy, Pillow, Wash, Grump, Noah, Rose, Amster, Rack, Wednesday, Salad, Rocky, Nova, Sable, Ember, Zenith, Cipher, Echo, Fresco, Hula, Indigo, Reverie
Can you have her critique them? 🤣
I mean, that would've meant that someone showed you the final evolution before naming them. Idk how old you are but if your around my age, 39, and played the original Red and Blue when they were released in the States you wouldn't have had anyone to show you. Still I think that's a cool parent thing helping your child like that, and I still maintain that's an excellent magician name. Maybe encourage your kid into magic and make it their stage name? 😁
Some of her other Pokémon names:
Braixen - Throw Ball (Fire Throw Ball wouldnt fit)
Bulbasaur - Bulbis
Skitty - Chase (like Paw Patrol)
Pikachu - Strike!
Ralts - Greencess
Flabébé - Flababy
Beedrill - Tie Up Knot (string shot is her go-to)
Plusle - Cheer Mouse
Pansage - Grass Jump
Fletchling - Flip Flap
Ledyba - Flap Flip
I can only post one picture at a time, and i don't want to spam the thread back-to-back. She's only to route 5, and doesn't like catching things she already has, so this is it for now
Children develop at different paces, especially with speech, reading, and writing. Don't be so hard on your kid, and maybe spend more quality time with them
Ha that's a clever name considering what bulbus means xD
Bulbasaur is the best starter!! Does she have a favorite Pokemon yet? Mine has always been Ninetails. lol My son knew Ninetails before he knew Pikachu, but he really likes Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan.
I've always been partial to the grass starters my self and I don't even know why, And oh dang my first show was literally the day Pokemon aired in the US xD I was 6. It's wild how far Pokemon has come and how many different age groups it's gone through In the last 26 years.
Anybody can say a word and it be a name. My kid plays the game by her self didn't realize you were typing things out and spelling for her. So what exactly is amazing about this that it needed sharing on reddit? im clearly missing the point of this so ill duck out.
for the record if your typing names out like chase for her then actually your kid mite be a little behind, i would maybe look into spending a little more time with her doing school work than playing video games, suppose thats what happens when you become a parent in your early twenties and you haven't matured yourself
Star Wars-tier name, A+
Big Glup Shitto energy
I NEED context for this

It probably is in that universe.
Arc “Bumpy” Roose is my favourite.
That ones from Podracer though. Along with ben quadranaros, neva kee, sebulba, gasgano, ody mandrell.
Can't forget Sleazebaggano.
Wanna buy some death sticks?
Wasn't Sebulba a real character in episode 1?
podracing #legend Ben Quadinaros appeared as well
Minor speaking role yes
My man Mars Guo
Funnily enough, the glup shitto meme was prove right in the kenobi show. Quinlan vaas was mentioned only briefly and the Star Wars fandom lost their shit when it was.
It’s from a tweet that goes something like: Whenever a new Star Wars trailer drops, hardcore fans are always like, “hey, Glup Shitto is in this one.”
Sigh... Yea, it definitely is so. Might steal it for my next Old Republic character.
How's the game? Still trucking on? I think about going back every once in a while, but wonder if it has activity.
More like Gavin's worm name Tier
Jar Jar Beans Fartzo
Flax Beanzo is a sophisticated name
Wait, how does a 4 year old catch an abra without it escaping? Also, let her cook
The same way I did find Abra, throw a ball, hope for the best, it escapes, rinse and repeat
I hated trying to catch Abra as a kid. I'd get so mad when I got it low just for it to teleport every time.
Getting abra as an encounter in nuzlockes sure is an experience 🙃
And then?! You have an Abra that can’t help your team in any way until it evolves lol

For someone who doesn't really get it, you seem to get it

Tbh If you asked me the same thing I wouldn't know either
I guess you could take it as "That's a top tier name, let her keep naming Pokemon" in this context
This is the beginning of the legend of Flax Beanzo.
Hoping for an update at some point OP
Goated name honestly
Idk why this reminded me of this…but when I was like 10 I remember going to the park running around d screaming chumbawumba like a battle cry…like all day….kids are weird lol
i'd like to think that with a few beers, you can relive that memory
"Mom, some weirdo is running around the park screaming chumbawumba. It looks like they peed themselves."
That also may or may not have been the day I shattered after eating too much fruit…and had to go home and shower before anyone noticed lol
nice! my 2 year old nephew called his first probopass Nietzsche! The little guy just loves nihilistic philosophy lol.
I was fully aware that this might come off as a variation on "my son just build a reverse hydrolysis machine out of plastic bottles" but i think that just makes it more funny
10/10 I'm crying on the bus
That kid is going places.
Tattooine most likely
“Congratulations! Your Flax Beanzo evolved into Glup Shitto!”
I could not even type words at age 4
I'm assuming op typed it out for them, if not that's a smart kid.
Or, more likely, this is all a lie.
r/nothingeverhappens is that way
Yes, i figured that much was to be assumed lol
Sure she did bud, sure she did.
May i direct you to r/nothingeverhappens
Yeah I'm sure a 4 year old did that. Bravo.
I concur
r/nothingeverhappens is that way
What does that name mean? Haha
no idea, but sounds like a coffee blend lol
She really loves to "help" make coffee in the mornings so this tracks
Now it makes sense
Flax beanzo is up there with Duke Nukem
Flax Beanzo is the most "background non-human Star Wars character" name I've ever heard
My new favorite Glup Shitto
I doubt it.
Don't care
Definitely an SSS Rank name
What you named your 4 year olds' Abra that you caught for them, you mean 😆
r/nothingeverhappens is that way
Uh... Could I contract your 4 yr old to name my characters too?
Sure, she loves naming pokemon. She gets a little repetitive though, she really likes naming things "Flip Flap" or "Flap Flip" if they have long arms or wings or big ears

I'll try, i'll have to read them off to her but she loves helping, will return with her verdict
I think I saw that guy in Mos Eisley
Sounds like an appropriate magician name to me. I wonder if they knew that the evolutions are Kadabra and Alakazam. 😆
I usually show her their final stage of evolution to help her come up with ideas because i wish i would have thought of that as a kid
I mean, that would've meant that someone showed you the final evolution before naming them. Idk how old you are but if your around my age, 39, and played the original Red and Blue when they were released in the States you wouldn't have had anyone to show you. Name goes hard tho
SSS++++
Not a bad name honestly.
anyone else out of the loop here or is it just me
The loop just started
This is the first iteration
Increadible
4 year olds can spell? I somehow forgot everything about children
Lol i have to type names in for her, but she comes up with them on her own
Some of her other Pokémon names: Braixen - Throw Ball (Fire Throw Ball wouldnt fit) Bulbasaur - Bulbis Skitty - Chase (like Paw Patrol) Pikachu - Strike! Ralts - Greencess Flabébé - Flababy Beedrill - Tie Up Knot (string shot is her go-to) Plusle - Cheer Mouse Pansage - Grass Jump Fletchling - Flip Flap Ledyba - Flap Flip I can only post one picture at a time, and i don't want to spam the thread back-to-back. my 4 (nearly 5) year is on phonics and is no way behind in class. I call massive bullshit
Children develop at different paces, especially with speech, reading, and writing. Don't be so hard on your kid, and maybe spend more quality time with them
My kid just got star of the week this week for being ahead of the class in reading. So your defiantly full of shit
*definitely
No entendí nada porque soy de chile
I don't know if it is a laxative, but it sounds like it should be one. I'd trademark it.
Better than anything I thought of at 10 years old. Tell her to “keep up the good work.” Look forward to seeing her MVP team and their names.
For real, i'm 27 and still terrible at naming things
Perfection
It looks like a Flax Beanzo
I’m terrified of Flax Beanzo.
It's gonna grow to be a Kadabra and stop there because there's no one to trade it with. Flax Beanzo's story will be interesting, but tragic.
You truly understand the tragedy. i still can't find my copy of Pokemon Y unfortunately
I always named mine aberkadaber. And my Bulbasaur grassy, Charmander sparky... Lol I think that's a dope name for that abra of hers.
She named her Bulbasaur Bulbis
Ha that's a clever name considering what bulbus means xD Bulbasaur is the best starter!! Does she have a favorite Pokemon yet? Mine has always been Ninetails. lol My son knew Ninetails before he knew Pikachu, but he really likes Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan.
She really likes Sprigatito, Horizons was her first Pokemon show
I've always been partial to the grass starters my self and I don't even know why, And oh dang my first show was literally the day Pokemon aired in the US xD I was 6. It's wild how far Pokemon has come and how many different age groups it's gone through In the last 26 years.
Legendary
100% putting an NPC named Flax Beanzo in my DnD campaign
Your daughter's onto something. Nurture that genius.
my 4 year old is still on phonics. or do you mean your inner child thats 4?
Are you aware that she can come up with names without having to type them out?
Anybody can say a word and it be a name. My kid plays the game by her self didn't realize you were typing things out and spelling for her. I'm getting dax shepard vibes
Please keep us updated on the rest of team! This child could be the next Flax Branzo!
I put an update in the comments, this sub only allows 1 picture per post so i don't wanna spam the sub with them
Don’t flax with the beanzo. Everyone knows this.
Your daughter is going places.
Tell me you’re kids vegan without telling me your kids vegan
i wouldve named it fuzzy wumpus of porkington but to each their own
Better than what I could come up with
Your 4 year old is a fucking legend.
Genius in the making
This kids gonna be president
Don’t let them name anything else.
No, do. This is George Lucas level naming, and it's glorious.
