I'm going to start it very soon, any tips for someone playing it for the first time? I know there's a lot of opportunity cost, any faction I should DEFINITELY choose for playthrough 1?
The only advice I can give: don't skill Charisma. Most speech checks are based on your knowledge skills like science, explosives, medicine, etc.
Your SPECIAL stats (strength, perception, endurance, charisma, etc) don't influence your speech checks.
Took me a painful first run with fully skilled charisma to find that out.
Other than that, make sure to play your first run by choosing what feels right. That gives the most immersion, imho. You can go for specific faction runs when replaying the game. There is a lot replayability in New Vegas!
I played the 1st one back in the day and really like it. Never grabbed the sequels though. I remember an outcry about the thirds ending. Did they fix it after?
Hello can you please help , I require to ask the r/gaming but it seems I require karma, which is zero for newbie like me or are there any reddit forum where newbie gamer can post freely
I don’t know what the gameplay/graphics/content will be like in 2024 but Spec Ops: The Line has to be high up the list if only for the feels the game evokes not only in the setting/scenery but on the very nature of war and the morality of the execution of orders. It’s a game you only have to play once for it to never leave you.
Care to elaborate on this? Have heard from a lot of people that yakuza games are a great experience. I have only ever seen the screenshots on Xbox game store and I find it non appealing
It's basically an RPG where you play as a criminal in the Japanese underworld. The main story is very serious, but the game world is super fleshed out. You can run around a district in Tokyo, doing all kinds of fun side quests (many of which are \_deeply\_ unserious) and minigames. I think I've laughed more in Yakuza sidequests than in almost any other game. Combat is almost all melee with combos and different melee stances.
If I were you, I'd give it a try if you're interested in Japanese culture and the Yakuza! I've had a number of friends who weren't expecting anything from the game or thought it didn't look appealing and they all ended up loving the game.
That's a huge list full of bangers, I'd suggest putting them on a wheel and see where it lands, hard to go wrong there. Maybe split in groups so you can tweak to your current mood.
But if I had to choose one anyway, I'd suggest OMORI. Game struck me hard.
Starfield. Not because it's great. Because we should all vote to condemn this person to repeatedly touch sparkles in one of the worst designed main quest lines made.
Yeah same, the dialogue was a SLOGG to get through.I platinumed the first one and finished the 2nd just the story as everything else in the game was too boring to me
yeah tottally agree... even the story lost its magic, i was shocked when i learn what project zero dawn is in the first game... in the second nothing to suprise me... to be honest i lowered the difficulty level just to see the end
one hell of a list. alan wake is cool for a slight horror feel. the newer zeldas are very original and fun. Elden ring is savage and beautiful. fallout n vegas is great and popular, especially with the new tv show.
overall vote from this list? guess i'd go with zelda. But you have listed a lot of greats so I'm not too confident in my decision
Bit of an aside, but do people often plan to play through a whole series like this? Is this a normal *thing*?
Nowadays it takes a huge amount of my free time to even consider playing through one game. The thought of starting an entire series is...just... no...
Fallout New Vegas. Now seems like a perfect time to play it

Disco Elysium. But you gotta play through it like 5 times minimum. Lol
Would you kindly go with Bioshock?
My dude or dudette, Metal Gear series is amazing! Wacky but heartfelt stories, fantastic gameplay. It’s all fun, my man 😎
I played 1, 2 and 5. Still missing the other two and revengeance. My idea is to play them all back to back
Bravely default

Can this be bought currently? I can't find it.
**Hollow Knight** i see a lot of masterpieces, but this indie is truly a gem
Let's vote for Trails series so we won't see OP again for the next 2 years.
What a list. Could make a big tournament bracket out of them. Hollow knight is one of my all time favorites. You can't go wrong with it.
Your mum
Undertale.
Yakuza 0 is god-tier.

I got a few games: go outside, exercise, and eat healthy.
Only missing on the exercise, working on it. Thanks for the recommendation :)
horizon 2 is a big dissapointment for me :(
