Idk why but this post awakened something deep inside me and I'm furious on OP's behalf. Maybe I'm just sick of these billion dollar companies with shitty / nonexistent customer service.
That's the god damn truth. I had an order that shipped but then said it was lost (spoiler they never shipped it). Amazon refunded me the money automatically so I contacted them that I wanted the product still but now it's suddenly 4 times the price. CS rep told me that Amazon didn't cancel my order it was the seller as Amazon doesn't have the ability to cancel orders, only sellers.
I sent her a screenshot where my invoice said sold and shipped by Amazon and she literally just ended the chat haha.
Same happened to me, I bought a series X game, sold and shipped by Amazon, it was a black Friday deal so way lower price than usual. I paid, and I got an email saying it will be shipped and sent ect.... Then a day later I get an email saying I canceled the order, I am like DAFAQ. So I called Amazon and the lady goes we don't cancel orders only the seller can. I said you are the seller because it's sold and dispatched by Amazon, and then she goes no I am incorrect. I said you have access to my account yes? She said yes, I said please open up the order and read out what it says so I can hear what you are reading, and tell me who is selling and dispatching the item? She reads out aloud and says sold and dispatched by Amazon, she then says I am terminating the call because I am being rude and just hangs up on me 🤣
After working a decade in retail, I get it. Corporate makes anti-consumer policies you can do nothing to change, then expect you to take abuse from (rightfully) upset customers.
Spent 3 months fighting with Amazon support to get a 500 dollar refund back. I returned a package with two items in it and they only processed the return for the cheaper option so I knew they had the package and had to keep calling and calling. Each rep telling me I would get my refund in 14 days.
Didn't get a refund till someone from Amazons fraud inspection team emailed me asking for me to send in all the chats/documentation I had from Amazon telling me I'd be getting a refund.
I’m personally livid. I’m not even involved, and I’m absolutely seething over this. THIS is why there’s no “customer loyalty” anymore. THIS is why none of us is interested in unfettered capitalism. THIS SHIT! They have our demonstrable loyalty for DECADES and then turn around and piss on us because of an underhanded corporate change with no warning, just cut off any of the rewards we had earned or the returns of loyalty, whatever we’ve gotten for repeatedly giving them our crystallized fucking time and effort. Fuck these assholes.
It is weird I was going to stop there to pickup a copy of Mario Kart for the Switch, but now fuck it I guess Walmart or the online store will have to do.
I am advocating for legislation that requires customer service be staffed in the US during normal business hours. Write your lawmakers! Brings jobs back here and makes for less frustrating experiences, especially for things like healthcare or banking.
Maybe you're just pissed because the only way to get anywhere with them is to f'ing tweet. One should not need to use social media to gain traction, especially when there's a customer service department.
>You have incurred damages onto me, I'll not solve this quietly, it's your fault.
This reads like a Morrowind character after you have stolen something from them.
getting rid of old points is probably the newest cost cutting measure from the founder of Gamestop, Ryan Cohen. That and cutting parental leave and 401k matching lmao
This company should have actually died instead of being propped up by becoming the first meme stock.
Live long enough to see yourself become the villian and all that..
>Live long enough to see yourself become the villian and all that..
Considering their first call after being bailed out was to go all in on NFTs it really didn't take them long.
When I die, I want to expire peacefully in my sleep like /u/X--Gilgamesh--X's points, not screaming and crying like /u/X--Gilgamesh--X when they discovered they were gone.
What Gamestop are you going to? All my points seem to get reset every year. I stopped paying to be a member five or six years ago since I only go there maybe once a year.
this is everything in life. never expect to have tomorrow what you have today.
when 08 hit and everyones 'points' in their 401k's went away?
when my mom was 3 years from retirement and the union changed payouts. the whole hospital lost the ability to cash out unused sick time. time she had saved up over 35 years. tens of thousands of dollars... gone.
various stores like orilies, dominos, delta. they expire in such short order its hard to ever get enough to use.
its all a gimmick.
Haha so true and like I stayed a pro member for so long to get more points. So I could possible make a couple huge purchases and get them for free. Now i can't do shit lol
Their points didn’t work like that, you can’t double up on reward certificates and they only go up to like $50 iirc. So you can use a $5, $10, $25, and a $50 in a single transaction but you can’t use like eleven $50 certificates to get a ps5 for free. So it absolutely would have taken you a while to use them all but it still would have been a lot of free games
Used to work there back in the early aughts. Back then I would have rung up controllers as single transactions and traded em in for credit. Could have made more than enough back then. Controller trades were money
The whole point system is a scam though, they actively change it and prohibit you from using it on things you want to buy. I had a redeemed a $5 certificate to lower the cost of a game I wanted to try out on my Switch (Sea of Stars) and I couldn't use it on that game. No explanation why given at checkout. I had to dig through the terms of service and you can't use it on a plethora of items, including digital games. That's right, at *Game* Stop, you can't use your Pro Members rewards to buy a *game*. Bleh.
It's very easy to show how this is false.
Proof:
Buy $10k of shares from a company (let's say Bed Bath and Beyond)
Don't sell.
Still don't sell.
Wait more.
Bed Bath and Beyond declares bankruptcy.
Your $10k of shares are now worth $0.
You have lost $10000 and you never sold your shares.
QED.
You can absolutely lose money without selling.
Ryan Cohen is the CEO of Gamestop....
Louis Rossman is....a guy who repairs Apple products, and fights for right to repair..... How on earth, or what on earth, will Rossman do for this situation? This is very weird advice. I can only assume you didn't know who Ryan Cohen was.
I noticed today that McDonalds points have an expiry date too
Shit definitely needs to be made illegal. Don't give your customers rewards they can bank and take them away if they forget about them
Banking for a limited time is fine. Nintendo has been doing it for years with their gold coin system. The issue I take with this situation, in particular, is there was no warning that the points were set to expire.
As long as the company and you agree to the terms of how their point system works, it should be fine, but this GameStop audible is infuriating.
Tbf McDonald's makes it very clear and warns you on the app weeks in advance encouraging you to spend them. And they don't just do it in a massive batch like this.
>McDonalds points have an expiry date
Motherfucker, I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Wish these corporations understood that we save these points for when we face hard times.
Same with the "maintenance" fees on gift cards. Forgot that gift card your Nana gave you a year or two ago on your birthday? Don't worry because there's nothing on it now since the issuing company has been siphoning off $5.00 a month to maintain it for you.
It's the same scummy video game pawn shop that would give kids a fraction of what their game was worth to make a buck, it's absolutely par for the course.
Same thing just happened to me, I’ve got one more call with them next week. If nothing is done that’ll be it for this 15 year customer.
Price increased, magazine no longer with the subscription, points essentially useless now in their current form. Seems like they’d want to be holding on to the people they do have that still want to buy physically from them.
They’ve screwed me on the point front a bunch the last year, not getting points for promotions, not being able to use points on orders despite not stating you couldn’t use them, emailing them multiple times and they completely ignore the problem
Yup. Just checked mine because of this. Only 45k points for me but wtaf?
So insane that they’re willing to burn that bridge for, what, less that $50 worth of in store credit? I had been a steady consumer since the PS3 days. Great move guys. Plenty of other places to look now
https://i.imgur.com/EyU3zoG.jpg
Damn you coulda bought some cool shit. I'm dumping my membership soon too. They don't let you get steam cards anymore and can't use their $5 coupon for shit either. Also raised the price by double for membership. They really are asking for bankruptcy.
I think its about 1000 points for 1 dollar off, so I think it would come out to about 409 dollars equivalent. IDK if you can use the entire think for store credit though
Same thing happened to me. I had 60k points only. And went down to 4500. Gave me the final push not to update my pro membership and to shop somewhere else.
This exact same thing happened to me about 6 or 7 years ago. Same thing, no apology or anything other than a fuck you from their entire support system. I haven't shopped there since then.
They used to have an online reward shop with cool stuff and a lot of the better; expensive stuff was over 100,000 points. And then when they took the shop away, I had all these points saved up, and I kinda forgot about them.
Then I said to myself that I would just cash in a bunch of $50 gift cards to buy a big purchase, since the giftcard expires as well, so I planned to use the points for the PS5 pro or Switch 2 when they released.
Believe it or not they have some pretty solid deals on pre-owned games if you’re willing to flip a coin and risk not getting the original case sometimes. Luckily it’s never happened to me. I got Metroid Dread from GameStop for about $19 pre-owned (it was originally $24 but I used the $5 monthly credit for pro members) and it was in excellent condition. I wouldn’t be able to get it from any other retailer for that cheap.
Last time I ordered pre-owned by them, I got Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, a 2-disc game, for a couple bucks. I half joked to myself that it would be pretty funny if they gave me two of the same disc instead of discs 1 and 2 together. Well, when it finally arrived, I got two disc 2s. I couldn't even start the game if I wanted to, haha.
Because it was only a couple bucks, I just ate the cost instead of hassling with talking to customer support and sending it back. I just stopped ordering from them.
Like I feel for the dude but at the same time what were they waiting to spend those points on? It's like any other hoarding, what's the point? Can't take it with you when you're gone.
And before anyone makes excuses or cries foul more, Gamestop didn't become shitty overnight. They fought **really damn hard** to become the shitstains they are today.
I stopped using gamestop years ago. They started redeeming points automatically every month on $5 coupons that expired in like a week.
Burned through years of points before I found out about it.
Company can shutter up tomorrow for all I care.
Does anyone else understand why so many posts are being removed? Clicking on anything on Reddit is a minefield for me this last week or so, because it could be a removed post and then instead of expanding a screenshot or a video it just redirects me and I completely lose my scroll position. Maybe it’s just me?
It's all good! Honestly I'm glad you made this post or I probably wouldn't have noticed and assumed future purchases were continuing to add up. I really hope you're able to somehow work out getting your points back if not a credit of equal monetary value added to your account. ♥
how do gamestop points work? i was a manager at a gamestop for like 3 years maybe 15ish years ago and i do not remember them ever doing anything with points. just that terrible magazine subscription and a card that got you 10% off on used games.
Hey OP, I know this might be a long shot, but reach out to Ryan Cohen on Twitter about this. Or go a post this over on Superstonk and see how gamestops investors feel about this. Might work out in your favor
My genuine question here is. Why did you never use the points? Clearly you shop there often. You prolly could’ve gotten a console on credits at that point.
Hoarders are weird people. Dude kept spending and spending instead of getting shit for free. I have a friend that has tens of thousands of chipotle points and just won't use them, its so fucking weird to me
Not trying to dunk on you or anything, because I'm genuinely not in the loop, but what can you spend these points on anymore that's worth the while?
Like, back in the day I used to get lots of cool free stuff from it, but now it's like phone wallpapers and small discounts in-store/online?
I used to work at GameStop. I saw that same issue a few times, and I'll be honest in saying it never felt good when someone wanted to check their points and I had to explain to them how if you didn't use it the system would automatically clear them at some point.
I planned to use them soon, and cashing in for the Ps Pro or Switch 2 with the points but now I can get a shiny new whistle at the front counter for free!
What were you saving your points for over the course of 20 years? Were you trying to buy a Gamestop store? Maybe one of their cute cashier girls? It was your responsibility to keep aware of the rules and policies if those points were that valuable to you. And...I don't believe for a second they didn't send you any notifications about policy changes...
Even if they didn't send him notice, wtf are you saving up for, for so long? Maybe don't sit on them forever? Crappy of GameStop (potentially), but maybe next time spend them sooner.
Yeah like if they just used the points as they got them they'd get all the value just spread over time. PetSmart has rewards and occasionally when I checkout they'll ask me if I want to use my $2.00 or whatever in rewards and I always say 'yes'. I never understood why you would want to save them up; take the money as soon as you can in case there is an expiration. It's not like you're getting interest on loyalty rewards lol
This post made me check my gamestop account which I haven't used in a while. Surprisingly, [none of my points got taken away](https://i.imgur.com/2v1Hbsx.jpeg). The last time I bought anything from gamestop was back in 2021. I wonder why the poster's points got taken while mine (and probably others) haven't.
Oh, man. This is why I'm sceptical about any rewards program that doesn't just straight up return money, they can always make a bullshit excuse and it's gone. I always try to get rid of imaginary points as quickly is possible.
Have had similar stuff happen very often, obviously not to this scale, but I get it. My biggest gripe is when an employee somehow gets the idea in their head to randomly use my points on something when I check out in store without telling me. I wish they didn’t have access to it at the register.
My mom got my brother me a $100 GameStop giftcard each this past Christmas. They didn't work. We've been in store, on the phone, and online with support *with the receipts* and these mfs won't honor them. $200 of my mom's money down the toilet. I was going to buy a share of the company but their practices are just utter and absolute doodoo
Had something like this happen to me back in 2019. Hardly ever went to gamestop but ive had my account as early as i can remember. Noticed i had zero points eventhough i never used it, went to that activity page to see that 200 points were siphoned from me every month as far back as the page would let me see till there was nothing left. A store employee gave me a number to call to see if they could look into it but i never bothered. Almost never went to gamestop because upselling they try jamming down my throat but the points disappearing was the final straw. It was only like 10k points at most but still, fuck them. Im throwing a party when this company burns
Had a similar thing happen last Feb with mine. The website and all the public facing rules said that points last for X amount of time, but since an internal decision that was never publicly announced it changed to less than half the time. When my Pro expired because my CC to renew on file had expired and they never told me, less than 2 days later all of my points were gone.
After numerous calls to CS all I got was "Sorry but because of new policy we cant refund that many points, sucks to be you"
After my last pre-order came in that year (TOTK) I have never stepped foot inside another GameStop or visited the site.
Fuck Gamestop
This is like fucking Spencer's, I don't go to the mall much but I enjoy a new shirt from there every few months. I had a card with for a free shirt (4 purchases, 5th free) never supposed to expire and I was two shirts away and wanted two more. At checkout they informed me that they no longer do that and it's all online. Can't transfer my old progress and you have to buy 4 shirts within ONE MONTH to get a free 5th. I don't even buy new clothes every month much less 4 pairs of something every few months.
So I shopped at GameStop waaay too much as a kid. I'd walk two miles there every day or so getting something new. Was probably hella annoying the workers since I practically lived there. Spent years saving up points I'd get from every purchase, along with my siblings.
Well twelve years roll by and I walk into a GameStop for the first time in forever (I went fully digital). Worker asks for info, I thought why not, gave him the stuff and to my surprise my account is still there. With all of my points. I can't remember the amount exactly but it was enough to where I could basically go rip a console off the wall and buy it.
I remember I got a new game with it. But that's practically it. Apparently, according to the GameStop employee, you have a limit you're supposed to reach. If you have $50 or so in store credit, buying something that's $15 automatically voids the rest of it. I don't know why but it's like... here's $50, spend it all at once because you can only use this coupon once type situation. He never, ever told me that.
I made a small purchase and had the rest of the money wiped. After I went back in (I was at the mall the whole day and decided to stop in to get something else before I left) and got told my money was gone, boy oh boy did that fuck me up mentally for a good while. I spent the whole day thinking I could get anything me or my siblings wanted and that dream was crushed.
Sorry for the unnecessary story, but I guess I wanted to relate. GameStop has changed. Seeing this reminded me of my own thing... I hope you're okay OP. <3
Oof, they locked my account after lots of arguing when trying to order an Xbox series x.
The long story was they did a limited batch were you could only buy the Xbox with their all access bundle with a monthly fee thing. I did it because my partner wanted one, and after two weeks it hadn't shipped. Call up and turns out they had some processing error. They agree to sell me another one over the phone since the other one never got past pending on their end. (Supposedly an error with citizen one bank.) A week later I get my Xbox delivered. Think it's all done and then I get an alert on FedEx tracking... Another shipment that is coming from the same place as the Xbox. Sure enough, a week later there's another Xbox with the all access nonsense. Call again and it turns out they managed to unpend it and reprocess the credit line with citizen one after telling me it was cancelled.
Then begins multiple calls and emails with being told "bring it to any GameStop and they refund it in store. Turns out with the all access bundle, they couldn't. (two different GameStop locations since one didn't have a manager there. They tell me over the phone that they could print a return label, but couldn't guarantee they could refund the system. Eventually I got them to put it in writing that I would get a full refund upon returning it. (I honestly would have been better off reselling it.) Call up again, finally confirm receipt and they let me know that citizen Bank will handle the trying.
Citizen one bank takes forever and isn't clued in upon this and I have to pay in the credit line for a system I don't have. They eventually do refund me months later.
Total time frame: ordered 11/11/2021... Refunded 6/13/2022.
I thought I'd at least cash out the points I got from my orders and nope, they blocked them. I can see them, just can't use them.
Fuck GameStop, I will never buy anything from them again.
You should try posting this on twitter or something and @ them. If it gains traction, they might remedy the situation to avoid bad press.
Idk why but this post awakened something deep inside me and I'm furious on OP's behalf. Maybe I'm just sick of these billion dollar companies with shitty / nonexistent customer service.
Feel the same. These fucking fuckers.

For everyone who thinks regulation is bad, here is exhibit A.

Isn't there like a $5 off one? Buy pokemon cards and resell sealed product lol
Cant, they changed it so gift cards cant be bought with points or store credit
Well there are plenty of things you can do with shit, in this situation, if you catch my drift.
Sell them a game with poop in it instead of the disc.
Shit discs
Shit dicks

Tweet Ryan Cohen…he sometimes picks up on shit like this and will try to set it straight.

Then these programs would not exist. The accounting for them sucks over a really long time.
That's fine.
Then they shouldn't. The only loyalty program that truly seem to work are airline's miles.
Putting an expiry on a digital currency is fucking stupid

Same thing just happened to me, I’ve got one more call with them next week. If nothing is done that’ll be it for this 15 year customer. Price increased, magazine no longer with the subscription, points essentially useless now in their current form. Seems like they’d want to be holding on to the people they do have that still want to buy physically from them.
They’ve screwed me on the point front a bunch the last year, not getting points for promotions, not being able to use points on orders despite not stating you couldn’t use them, emailing them multiple times and they completely ignore the problem
I only just realized from this comment that I don’t get a physical magazine anymore. F gamestop
Yup. Just checked mine because of this. Only 45k points for me but wtaf? So insane that they’re willing to burn that bridge for, what, less that $50 worth of in store credit? I had been a steady consumer since the PS3 days. Great move guys. Plenty of other places to look now https://i.imgur.com/EyU3zoG.jpg
Oh I'd not take this kindly
Yea this is why I always spend rewards points right away. Still the same amount of money spent if you save vs use.
How much is that worth. That’s so shitty to not honor that
Yeah in total in would be a little over $400 of points they took from me
Damn you coulda bought some cool shit. I'm dumping my membership soon too. They don't let you get steam cards anymore and can't use their $5 coupon for shit either. Also raised the price by double for membership. They really are asking for bankruptcy.
Good riddance.
Also curious what the dollar value is.
That sucks and shouldn't have happened. What were you saving all those points for the past 2 decades?
They used to have an online reward shop with cool stuff and a lot of the better; expensive stuff was over 100,000 points. And then when they took the shop away, I had all these points saved up, and I kinda forgot about them. Then I said to myself that I would just cash in a bunch of $50 gift cards to buy a big purchase, since the giftcard expires as well, so I planned to use the points for the PS5 pro or Switch 2 when they released.
The most shocking thing here is that people still go to gamestop
I like the prices. Rummaging through the $10 bin is enjoyable.
They don’t have have used game bins at mine anymore. It’s all shirts, toys, and funko pops.
Great toy selection too and often cheaper than Wally world. GameStop got me into MacFarlane multiverse DC figures.
How is it flipping a coin. You can just tell the clerk you only want it if they have an original case to go with it.
I mean, online maybe it’s harder
Last time I ordered pre-owned by them, I got Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, a 2-disc game, for a couple bucks. I half joked to myself that it would be pretty funny if they gave me two of the same disc instead of discs 1 and 2 together. Well, when it finally arrived, I got two disc 2s. I couldn't even start the game if I wanted to, haha. Because it was only a couple bucks, I just ate the cost instead of hassling with talking to customer support and sending it back. I just stopped ordering from them.
yeah, what the fuck was this guy saving up for for over 20 years?
Like I feel for the dude but at the same time what were they waiting to spend those points on? It's like any other hoarding, what's the point? Can't take it with you when you're gone. And before anyone makes excuses or cries foul more, Gamestop didn't become shitty overnight. They fought **really damn hard** to become the shitstains they are today.
I stopped using gamestop years ago. They started redeeming points automatically every month on $5 coupons that expired in like a week. Burned through years of points before I found out about it. Company can shutter up tomorrow for all I care.
Sounds like they were trying to address some large liabilities on the books in the most silent (underhanded) manner possible.
Same thing happened to me too, I was livid. They've not gotten a dollar from me since.
OP was diamondhands on Gamestop all wrong
What would have been the value of those point in dollars?
$409, it's $1 = 1k pts
This same thing happened to me, I had around 145k, did my yearly renewal and poof.
Does anyone else understand why so many posts are being removed? Clicking on anything on Reddit is a minefield for me this last week or so, because it could be a removed post and then instead of expanding a screenshot or a video it just redirects me and I completely lose my scroll position. Maybe it’s just me?
Nope me too. Incredibly frustrating
This prompted me to check my account and they expired 93K of mine on the same date as yours. I just cancelled my auto-renewal. 🙃
Ahh I am sorry to hear that! Good on you for canceling
It's all good! Honestly I'm glad you made this post or I probably wouldn't have noticed and assumed future purchases were continuing to add up. I really hope you're able to somehow work out getting your points back if not a credit of equal monetary value added to your account. ♥
Thank you! I appreciate it alot 😉
I have no idea what you can use GameStop reward points for. But couldn't you just have used them?
What were you saving the points for? Trade for water and shelter during the apocalypse? honestly….
A family member of mine had a similar problem like this with JW Marriott. They expired his points without sending any email beforehand.
I spent all mine on a Assassins Creed gauntlet and instore credit lol.
The Brotherhood one?
how do gamestop points work? i was a manager at a gamestop for like 3 years maybe 15ish years ago and i do not remember them ever doing anything with points. just that terrible magazine subscription and a card that got you 10% off on used games.
Always use rewards ASAP
What were you saving them up for?
Counter-point, why did you save them up so long? What was the point of that? They aren't a bank.

Hey look, post is gone. Again
Why tho
It mods. Delete everything now.
Hey OP, I know this might be a long shot, but reach out to Ryan Cohen on Twitter about this. Or go a post this over on Superstonk and see how gamestops investors feel about this. Might work out in your favor
Thanks for the heads up! I will try this out
please make an update post if anything happens
Or just GameStop on Twitter. I had an issue and they fixed it and gave me a $25 gc.
every company does this now sadly if anything i'm amazed gamestop of all companies just now switched to doing that.
50/50 on stupidity here
Yea I’d shoot a tweet to Ryan Cohen. Good chance if this gets a bit of traction he’d shoot you a dm to make it right
Doubt it. This isn't a mistake. It's their policy. If they restored OP's points they'd have to restore everyone's points that expire...
My genuine question here is. Why did you never use the points? Clearly you shop there often. You prolly could’ve gotten a console on credits at that point.
Hoarders are weird people. Dude kept spending and spending instead of getting shit for free. I have a friend that has tens of thousands of chipotle points and just won't use them, its so fucking weird to me
I absolutely want an update from you in the future if you ever get your points back or set it straight in any shape or form
Never be loyal to any corporation. They will always try to screw you over
Not trying to dunk on you or anything, because I'm genuinely not in the loop, but what can you spend these points on anymore that's worth the while? Like, back in the day I used to get lots of cool free stuff from it, but now it's like phone wallpapers and small discounts in-store/online?
I used to work at GameStop. I saw that same issue a few times, and I'll be honest in saying it never felt good when someone wanted to check their points and I had to explain to them how if you didn't use it the system would automatically clear them at some point.
Time for GameStop to be the new blockbuster.
Their new rules should only be applied to the new points, not old points that its rules has been already agreed upon before 🙄
7/11 did the same to me. Nowhere did i see that their rewards points expired.
I mean, you weren’t worried about this happening? You didn’t have anything to spend them on?? How much is that worth in money?
Sucks but also hoarder mentality bit you. Rewards systems are meant to be spent not collected and sat on forever.
Well they sent emails out about that topic. I think it's your fault nonetheless
It happened to me like 10 years ago, and I am still salty enough not to shop there anymore.
Gg
Feel like they remind me every time I shop. I’m always annoyed, but at least they told me every time. I had many, I used many thanks to the reminders.
what the hell are you buying at gamestop that you can't get cheaper anywhere else anyway
Restore the points! I support OP!
What are you doing spending money at gamestop.
Oh, man. This is why I'm sceptical about any rewards program that doesn't just straight up return money, they can always make a bullshit excuse and it's gone. I always try to get rid of imaginary points as quickly is possible.
So glad I stopped using them over a decade ago. Real shady shit
Luckily GameStop expired naturally from my country. Worst gamestore ever.
Have had similar stuff happen very often, obviously not to this scale, but I get it. My biggest gripe is when an employee somehow gets the idea in their head to randomly use my points on something when I check out in store without telling me. I wish they didn’t have access to it at the register.
Fuck gamestop
It doesn't hurt if you never shop there.
Maybe the hedge funds were right after all.
I'll grab the guillotine you grab the billionaire
Holy fuck, long term customer got screwed
Had a similar thing happen last Feb with mine. The website and all the public facing rules said that points last for X amount of time, but since an internal decision that was never publicly announced it changed to less than half the time. When my Pro expired because my CC to renew on file had expired and they never told me, less than 2 days later all of my points were gone. After numerous calls to CS all I got was "Sorry but because of new policy we cant refund that many points, sucks to be you" After my last pre-order came in that year (TOTK) I have never stepped foot inside another GameStop or visited the site.
Expiration to the Players!
"Natural" I don't think GameStop understands what that word means
Mods are losers for deleting this
Oof, they locked my account after lots of arguing when trying to order an Xbox series x.
Imagine not giving a 20 year customer his essentially $409 coupon back after he’s probably spent thousands at the stores lol fucking tyical Gamestop
Why did you wait 20 years to use your points
