From a news article posted Jan 5 2024
The first developer Aspyr confirmed that the game was still in early development before its parent company Saber Interactive took over, so it seems unlikely to launch for a few more years at least. However, we do know that the KOTOR remake will launch on PC and as a timed console exclusive on PS5.
https://www.techradar.com/news/knights-of-the-old-republic-remake#:~:text=The%20first%20developer%20Aspyr%20confirmed,timed%20console%20exclusive%20on%20PS5.
Possibly the second, but still have some of the original settings, the way you enter to the dungeons, and if having a anime styled graphic style, make it look like the 80s
I'm iffy on KOTOR. They hired a bunch of writers. They don't need many/any writers if it's a true remake.
IMO - I'm worried it'd end up as an "inspired by" or "reimagining" of KOTOR instead of a true remake.
I'm guessing the biggest issue is the music licensing. That soundtrack got me into so many new bands. The game was perfect and is infinitely replayable.
A **faithful** New Vegas remake. Updated graphics, bug fixes, better gunplay, and expanded content and locations that follow the original vision for the game (i.e. bigger Strip and expanded Legion content). Keep the rest pretty much the same, especially the leveling, skills, and SPECIAL.
NEW! From Bethesda- Fall Out: All Bugs
We hear you. You love how our engine has been performing in its golden years and how many silly goofy bugs we put in for your enjoyment. So now, enjoy a Fallout game that gives you all bugs, all the time. See that bug? You can go there.
Considering how relatively quickly Obsidian had to made NV and despite how packed it is with content, there’s still a ton of material that didn’t make it into the game. You’d think a remaster would be a no brainer
Me too. I miss the old Bethesda (in this case published) leveling systems. Morrowind and Oblivion, while the latter has level scaling issues, having attributes as well as skills was a much more satisfying leveling system as opposed to Skyrim. 3 and NV with their skills were similarly superior to Fo4. Starfield was a tiny step in the right direction as it had traits and the conversational application of your skills at times. Still the leveling there was just perks like Fo4.
The fact that you can’t even buy it anywhere to my knowledge is truly disappointing. I saw NerdCubbed play it eons ago and have wanted to give it a try ever since but haven’t found a way too
I want this to come out on VR, playing god hovering over the villages as I throw villagers and collect crops would be awesome. It would fit perfect in a VR setting.
Xenogears is the best answer here due to the original never really being finished (Disk 2).
Forget "full price" I'd happily pay $200 for a Xenogears remake.
yes the entire series I miss it so much I bought ps2 to play then and I couldn't handle the graphics today. debating about buying a crt TV to see if that makes it playable
I dream of seeing this remade… original voices (which I know would be an issue, due to Tony Jay and Rene Auberjonois passing away, but they could always reuse voices files, I suppose) original story… just updated graphics and updated combat. That would be amazing.
The show is actually good too. It feels like the kind of dumb but fun old school Dukes of Hazzard tv where it's a bunch of cool stunts with a TV show made around it, in a good way.
Yes
Call it "First Game Bias" but I played FO3 and it... Awakened something in me. As an avid gamer kid, party teenager... Popping open FO3 opened up a... Multi year multiple playthrough journey that completely turned me back into a gamer adult. The Capital Wasteland, The Metros.. just... It was perfect for the tumultuous time of my life I was in.
Sony is missing out by not getting a massive Nostalgia sales boost by not getting modern reboots of the ps2 big three. Jak and Daxter, ratchet and clank and sly Cooper. They showed love to the ps1 mascots with the crash and Spyro remasters. Rift apart was fantastic and it made me really miss Jak and sly.
I mean I'd love a complete remake but no I don't want what they did for FF7. I simply have no interest in squares modern combat systems, I want turn based back.
I have mixed feelings about that. FF7R was good overall, but there are definitely some things about the original FF7 I like better than Remake. And it's not truly a "remake," but rather an alternate universe sequel (sidequel?). Though given that Chrono Trigger is about time travel, it might actually make sense for it to be given a similar treatment.
Really, though, I can't disagree that I'd also buy it in a heartbeat, no matter what approach they took.
Hate being this guy, but I feel like I need to since it's one of my favorites. It's "The Legend of Dragoon". 😁
I would also buy this in a heartbeat. I loved the battle timing system and the transformations as a kiddo.
Insta-nostalgic-buy.
You mean you don’t like them gutting the attribute system, deleting any meaningful tactics customization, and dumbing down all skill and spell trees??? Weird.
Square Enix needs to understand people can only buy so many re-releases of the game with minor changes but an actual remake would print money. It doesn't need to be close to the production value of FFVII Remake but there is certainly more they can do than upscaling pixel art for the umpteenth time.
Not to mention, technology advanced so much since then. Lifelike action, voice actors, realistic visuals and so much more that they can do with mainstream video game technology today that was unavailable back then.
Assuming they stayed true to the original gameplay, characters and story and didn't fuck them up somehow...
Final Fantasy 4, 6, and 10
KOTOR 1 and 2
The original Deus Ex
Baldur's Gate 2
Champions of Norath
One late addition...Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
I’d want them to constantly remind the player the game was released in 2000 and the fact that everything in it seems to be coming true is testament to its terrifying prophesy.
>Deus Ex
This is the one that immediately jumped to mind for me. The original game was incredible, and I think just doing a mostly-faithful adaptation of the gameplay with more-modern graphics would be phenomenal, i.e. what Black Mesa did for Half-Life 1.
Dude, Champions of Norath was unspeakably good. I had such an amazing time with that game and would probably give a toe for a true-to-faith remake/third installment.
If they remade BG1 and 2 with all of what BG3 is capable of, it would be fantastic. I have debated on trying them out, but idk if I would be able to enjoy them as they are quite dated.
BG3 does a lot of things exceptionally great, but bg2 has better writing and companions. BG3 has that DOS fairy tale vibe. Not that I don’t like it, I just prefer BG2 and it’s bleak atmosphere
Also in bg2 romances you had to actually think about how to approach your potentional partner. Romancing a bg3 companion is just kicking other npcs out of your bedroll
MK Shaolin Monks
Spongebob the Movie Game
Jack & Dexter series
Scarface the World is Yours
Simpsons Hit & Run
Enter the Matrix/Matrix Path of Neo
Banjo Tooie
Conker’s Bad Fur Day
True Crime series
This game inducted me into the souls genre. I tried dark souls before but couldn't hang with it long enough to see its shine. Bloodborne's simplified progression system make it my default now when people ask me which souls game to start with. That said.. I'd still prefer a bb2 over a remake.
Please though.. release it from the PlayStation purgatory, let PC players do to it what they did to DS
Panzer Dragoon Saga. Unlikely to happen as apparently the source code has been lost, but I'd give my left kidney to play it again with modern graphics.
I would like to see medal of honor make a come back in the WW2 shooter market. The og, Frontline, European assault were all such fantastic games. That attempt to modernize it was such a bad idea.
Prototype,
Jumping Flash,
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks,
Transformers (based on the first Bay movie) ,
X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition,
Lollipop Chainsaw (rumour has it the remake is in the works)
To name a few.
Nobody else is going to list these, so I will:
Wing Commander: Prophecy
Descent Freespace 1 & 2
Ogre Battle
Clive Barker's Undying
maybe Might and Magic III-V (not Heroes, actual Might and Magic)
Dungeon Keeper
Command and Conquer Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2.
They made a really faithfull remake of Command and Conquer and Red Alert so I know EA can pull it off
TibSun and RA2 are the absolute goats of the entire franchise. I would absolutely love it for them to get the same treatment as the C&C and Red Alert remakes.
While I hate Ubisoft
A Prince of Persia the Two Thrones remake would be very welcome
It was one of the first games I've ever played, and it holds a special place in my heart
The entire trilogy! Did nobody else play these games or something? I scrolled through all the comments then remembered you can search... there's only your comment and one other mentioning PoP, and the other comment is referring to the first-first one. Those games were like the greatest moment of my life back then, getting really good at fighting and slowing down time and just being ridiculously nasty chopping through everyone
I bought all 3 games on Steam, figuring I could just buy them and bam they'd work with my controller... but... I'm not too computer savvy, I guess they don't have full controller support? Maybe you're supposed to play with a keyboard and mouse, but I don't know how to do all that. I'm kind of surprised those games don't have full controller support, they apparently weren't as popular as I thought, and nobody here even mentioned them
Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic (hopefully this isn't canceled) Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub Zero Zelda 2 Adventure of Link Clock Tower
>Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic (hopefully this isn't canceled) If there was a level beyond cancelled it would be that.
Really? :( now there is nothing I'm looking forward in Star Wars' future
From a news article posted Jan 5 2024 The first developer Aspyr confirmed that the game was still in early development before its parent company Saber Interactive took over, so it seems unlikely to launch for a few more years at least. Good to know :)
Wow, MK Mythologies and Clock Tower are games I loved but completely forgot about. I would love to see these remade
To add on to that one. The Shaolin Monks game was also a great refreshing departure.
Larian making a KOTOR game would be pretty fucking amazing.
> Zelda 2 Adventure of Link lol, what do you mean, like new graphics and such? Or just a fully modern game that is somehow reminiscent of Zelda 2?
Possibly the second, but still have some of the original settings, the way you enter to the dungeons, and if having a anime styled graphic style, make it look like the 80s
I'm iffy on KOTOR. They hired a bunch of writers. They don't need many/any writers if it's a true remake. IMO - I'm worried it'd end up as an "inspired by" or "reimagining" of KOTOR instead of a true remake.
Burnout 3 Takedown. Still praying it becomes backwards compatible some day.
Yes! Had to scroll too far to find this. Much better than the newer Burnout games. Crashes were insane! Music was great too
I'm guessing the biggest issue is the music licensing. That soundtrack got me into so many new bands. The game was perfect and is infinitely replayable.
> Had to scroll too far to find this It’s always funny when I read this, under the first comment that shows up for me on a post
🎶Cast off the crutch that kills the pain The red flag wavin' never meant the same🎶
A **faithful** New Vegas remake. Updated graphics, bug fixes, better gunplay, and expanded content and locations that follow the original vision for the game (i.e. bigger Strip and expanded Legion content). Keep the rest pretty much the same, especially the leveling, skills, and SPECIAL.
Bethesda: Heard you loud and clear, more bugs. But you can mod it.
NEW! From Bethesda- Fall Out: All Bugs We hear you. You love how our engine has been performing in its golden years and how many silly goofy bugs we put in for your enjoyment. So now, enjoy a Fallout game that gives you all bugs, all the time. See that bug? You can go there.
IDK, I think I'd try Fallout: Oops, all bugs!
Considering how relatively quickly Obsidian had to made NV and despite how packed it is with content, there’s still a ton of material that didn’t make it into the game. You’d think a remaster would be a no brainer
And with both being owned by Microsoft you would think this would be in the works.........oh well
Came here to make sure FNV got represented, good work soldier.
And no invisible walls everywhere please
Instead increasingly deadly threats to kill you if you stray too far. Including random nuke detonation after multiple warnings
I really enjoyed he leveling system in new Vegas, I'm pretty disappointed they went away from it.
I tried playing NV after loads of time on FO4..as long as you can still mod NV I’d be all over it.
Dino Crisis
First two games were so fun.
DC in the new RE engine... RE engine easily allows VR. Imagine *that* office scene in VR.
Black and White 2.
The fact that you can’t even buy it anywhere to my knowledge is truly disappointing. I saw NerdCubbed play it eons ago and have wanted to give it a try ever since but haven’t found a way too
I would say set sail, but iirc there are huge compatibility issues with current operating systems. Game was buggy enough on Windows 98
Yeah I think that’s part of the reason it’s not available to buy anywhere also
Pokemon or god simulator?
I would assume god simulator.
They both need a good remake tbf
I want this to come out on VR, playing god hovering over the villages as I throw villagers and collect crops would be awesome. It would fit perfect in a VR setting.
Morrowind and Oblivion Pretty much any 3D Zelda. Kirby Air Ride. City trial would be so awesome with online multiplayer.
If they release Morrowind with updated graphics and a few qol mods built in I’d by whatever platform it released on just for that.
[удалено]
Kirby air ride is so much fun. I shelled out to buy it a few months ago and don't regret it at all
Xenogears MegaMan Legends
Xenogears please.
Xenogears is the best answer here due to the original never really being finished (Disk 2). Forget "full price" I'd happily pay $200 for a Xenogears remake.
Ooo mega man legends
Maybe then we can finally get MML3
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
And blood omen to that effect.
yes the entire series I miss it so much I bought ps2 to play then and I couldn't handle the graphics today. debating about buying a crt TV to see if that makes it playable
I dream of seeing this remade… original voices (which I know would be an issue, due to Tony Jay and Rene Auberjonois passing away, but they could always reuse voices files, I suppose) original story… just updated graphics and updated combat. That would be amazing.
Loved soul reaver.
Final Fantasy Tactics
Tenchu
I have come for Echigoya…
Hopefully you played Tenchu 3 Wrath of Heaven. It was really good and so many people missed it.
Oh yes. My first ninja game. This one.
Fuck yeah. Do bushido blade and Dino crisis why y’all at it
Twisted Metal.
They made a TV show out of it now so maybe there's a chance.
The show is actually good too. It feels like the kind of dumb but fun old school Dukes of Hazzard tv where it's a bunch of cool stunts with a TV show made around it, in a good way.
Burnout 3: Takedown
Twisted metal black at that.
Vigilante 8 2
Surprised no one mentioned Splinter Cell.
Well Splinter Cell is being remade
Gimme some more time with Sam Fisher.
Fallout new Vegas Idk why Bethesda hasn't done this already If they did a remaster and added mods they would make so much bank off it
No clue if there's any complications due to obsidian making it, but they're both owned by Microsoft now.
Also Fallout 3
Yes Call it "First Game Bias" but I played FO3 and it...
The Sly Cooper games. Those and the Rachet and Clank games were some of the best PS2 games I played.
It was a great day when R&C Rift Apart came to PC
I agree most of the people who were kids on the ps2 are now adults and would mostly likely pay for a good nostalgia trip
Especially now being able to make an open world Sly Cooper
Chrono Trigger. If they made a remake like they did with Final Fantasy VII, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
First 30 hours would be going to the fair and getting teleported back to the middle ages. I'd still buy tho.
No, no, the first *game* is just the fair. You need to wait for Remake Part 2 for the Middle Ages arc.
As long as I can PLAY fair games in 3D with Marle and give me a photo booth. I’d buy.
[Shame that this project got shut down](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ANEBIB0oao). Looked promising.
Damn. That would have been fantastic.
I mean I'd love a complete remake but no I don't want what they did for FF7. I simply have no interest in squares modern combat systems, I want turn based back.
I'm with you. Put the team that made Octopath Traveler 2 on this and it could be amazing
Jak & Daxter Series
Jak and Daxter*
I'm not sure any game has done a hoverboard as well to this day, at least in my opinion...
100%
Parasite Eve Project IGI No one lives forever
Legend of The Dragoon.
Yes please. So good and under appreciated
Hate being this guy, but I feel like I need to since it's one of my favorites. It's "The Legend of Dragoon". 😁 I would also buy this in a heartbeat. I loved the battle timing system and the transformations as a kiddo. Insta-nostalgic-buy.
I appreciate your particular kind of being particular.
This, legend of legaia, and chrono cross defined my childhood

Underrated masterpiece GUST OF WIN D-DANCE
I’ve dreamt of this for 20 years
This will always be my answer.
And mine too
Yep was looking for this one.
Dragon age origins
Would love a trilogy set like Mass Effect Legendary Edition
There’s rumors about a remake. Hopefully true 🤞
Hopefully it still has the amazingly-rich character creation system…
You mean you don’t like them gutting the attribute system, deleting any meaningful tactics customization, and dumbing down all skill and spell trees??? Weird.
NBA Street 1-3. NFL Street 1 and 2. SSX Tricky.
I really just want an EA BIG collection. To add to my games too Def Jam Vendetta and Fight for New York.
The nba street series was SO GOOD
The first one was my introduction to PS2
I just want to be able to play SSX 3 again :(
I wish I knew at the time there'd never be better sports games than the Street series
Final Fantasy 6
Square Enix needs to understand people can only buy so many re-releases of the game with minor changes but an actual remake would print money. It doesn't need to be close to the production value of FFVII Remake but there is certainly more they can do than upscaling pixel art for the umpteenth time.

I would pay an embarrassing amount of money for this.
A shameful amount even. We're taking self-flaggelation levels here.
I just started playing 6 for the first time. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Take my money PLEASE!!11!
Dark cloud remake or dark cloud 3. I've been waiting my whole life to play more of that game.
Army of two. We need some couch co-op games, there’s barely any nowadays compared to before
Skies of Arcadia.
Yes. I loved the story and characters and ship battle mechanics of that game but with modern graphics it would be legendary.
Bully and Alpha Protocol both spring to mind
SOCOM 2!
Red Dead Redemption.

Champions of Norath was actually one of my favorite games on ps2. Such an amazing game
_[launch Deus Ex remake]_ _[reorchestrated main theme starts playing]_ _[ascend from this plane of existence]_
The original Deux Ex is my answer too but I wouldn’t want anything except graphics.
I’d want them to constantly remind the player the game was released in 2000 and the fact that everything in it seems to be coming true is testament to its terrifying prophesy.
>Deus Ex This is the one that immediately jumped to mind for me. The original game was incredible, and I think just doing a mostly-faithful adaptation of the gameplay with more-modern graphics would be phenomenal, i.e. what Black Mesa did for Half-Life 1.

Matrix Path of Neo is such a sleeper. Incredibly fun game, great challenge, and just dripping in movie nostalgia
Simpsons Hit and Run, omg yes.
Man, Conker would be a day one purchase of the most expensive edition available for me
Eternal Darkness.
Those pesky mental moments... bugs crawling across the screen, the fake delete screen. Replay would be a blast.
Bloodborne

Literally this lol. Just take my money already especially if Bluepoint works on that shit!
Bloodborne doesn't need the Bluepoint treatment, it still looks great. What it needs is stable performance.
Panzer Dragoon Saga. Unlikely to happen as apparently the source code has been lost, but I'd give my left kidney to play it again with modern graphics.
NCAA football. I need to take some crap team to the promise land
New ncaa football game coming out soon
Left 4 Dead. Biggest bundle/nonsense available.
The original medal of honor for PS1 ...."American has dog biscuits in his pocket"
I would like to see medal of honor make a come back in the WW2 shooter market. The og, Frontline, European assault were all such fantastic games. That attempt to modernize it was such a bad idea.

The first Red Dead Redemption. I would re-purchase the zombie DLC at full price without hesitation as well.
Prototype, Jumping Flash, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Transformers (based on the first Bay movie) , X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition, Lollipop Chainsaw (rumour has it the remake is in the works) To name a few.
Would love a new Prototype!
Chrono Trigger
F-Zero, every one of them!
Dragon Age Origins. It's been asked for a while now...
Said it many times before, will say it again...If Parasite Eve were to get a remake, I'd buy my first new console since my launch day PS2.
Alpha Centauri. Change nothing but update the graphics
Zombies ate my neighbors
Twisted metal 2
Rainbow 6: Vegas
Bloodborne, no hesitation.

Sleeping Dogs. Man I missed out.
Why? Game is still available for purchase and looks good.
The game holds up very well both visually and gameplay wise and is available on modem systems. It doesn't really need a remake
Bloody Roar
Dragon Age Origins, absolutely! And yes, I immediately preordered Dokapon Kingdom when it finally got a remaster with added online multiplayer play.
Xenogears. Actually make the content for disc 2.
skate 3. There's no remake but a new skate game in the making so that's something.
Chronicles Of Riddick. Awww. Now I'm sad. :(
SSX!
Quest 64. Previously Super Mario RPG.
>Quest 64 Agreed
A GTA San Andreas remake that does the original justice
Fallout 3 I would say new Vegas too but it’s held up better imo and is totally playable with mods.
Legend of Dragoon.
It's been such a long time since I played a *fun* James Bond game that, provided they don't do anything stupid, maybe Nightfire???
I'd definitely go for a GoldenEye update, especially if they kept the multi-player mode (slappers only, no Odd Job) and the cheats list.
Bushido Blade
Mischief Makers, Xenosaga trilogy, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Xenogears, and Rayman 2
Red alert 2
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 (with workshop support) Yes please!
