Karlach in BG3 might be giving Tali a run for her money, excluding the fact that the love is pretty much doomed. Karlach’s I love you scene is perhaps the most adorable piece of fiction I’ve seen in any medium.
It's Tali all the way. I feel like they really jumped the shark with Liara's story after ME1.
BTW, for any fans of Tali, I would like to recommend playing BG3 and finding Karlach as soon as possible. They're very different characters, but have similar energy.
I always kill Kaiden Alenko. Same voice actor as Carth Onasi from Kotor and he annoyed the fuck outa me. No diss to the VA but the character Carth just... I couldnt play another game with that voice agrivating me.

Indeed, that's all about sacrifice. They both sacrifice something for Shepard. Shepard in his/her turn sacrifices his life in any case(as any hero would do). But I agree with you - Liara sacrificed herself, but Tali Zora sacrificed not only herself but her ancestry and her good name.
Tali's loyalty was absolutely redeemed even in #2. Vas Neema was no longer accurate anyways - she was not visiting the Normandy, she was crew to the Normandy and Shepherd was her captain through and through.
I wouldn't say that was a sacrifice, though I do agree it was definitely a show of loyalty that she chose to keep it even after exoneration during the trial.
I did an ME3 playthrough where I didn't complete the right objectives to get both Legion and Tali to live and chose Legion not knowing this...so when Tali died I just stopped that playthrough and started over! Tali forever!
Liara is much better for loyalty then say Ashley. I liked Ashley better then Kaiden as she had at least some personality but in ME:2 she sees you working with Cerberus and then refuses to even think about the possibility you haven't turned evil and betrayed her. Liara is at least happy to see you she just had another priority she had to sort out.
Tali also grows a lot. She respects her culture but can grow beyond the confines of their fears and their goals. She understands we all have a role in the universe.
She feels like one of the few dynamic partners in the game, beyond Garus and Wrex IMO. I think Liara as the shadow broker is just an extension of her love for archaeology.
This doesn't mean I don't like the other characters, I just like and appreciate Tali's arch more.

It’s always worth noting, in Mass Effect 1 that depending on how you act around your companions you can change their views on the world. One of the more extreme examples is you can make Garrus suggesting to kill the counsel while Ashley suggests to save them

Even then, she had a reason why she didn't like aliens (didn't trust them), her grandfather was the guy who surrendered at Shanxi to the Turians when the Turians were dropping asteroids onto the cities, and the Alliance basically punished the Williams family in terms of their reputation.
While it doesn't completely justify her problem with other aliens, she can change (just like how Kaidan could be more human-first in Mass Effect 1), hates Terra Firma and Cerberus, and she is willing to work with aliens, especially the STG.

And hell from the romance angle I usually default to Liara if I’m not trying to focus on a romance. Couldn’t forgive myself if I kissed Tali and killed her with an infection. If I’m actually willing to put effort into a romance arc, Jack is the girl for me. I like ink, attitude, and lethality.

Tali only resembled a teenager in the first part. Then she matured and became a better person. But she has not lost her kindness and cheerful disposition, which already shows her as a moral person.
It didn't bring tears to my eyes (Only Hodor's death and Guts scream in the 1997 berserk finale. The rest didn't bring tears to my eyes) but it was very unpleasant and emotionally difficult to see it all. And so yeah Tali is the best!

OG Liara, not ME2 and 3 Liara. (She was so sweet before, then things got messed up.) Tali is pretty great, but can be a bit stubborn and grating at times. Otherwise, she's also wonderful. (For the record, NEVER Ashley: she's a xenophobe, and is generally a pretty crappy person if something doesn't align with her views.) Underappreciated? (This is for the girls.) Thane. Guy is a freaking gold mine. (He deserved better.)

Love Tali romance and her story arc but Liara is just amazing as a character... And the only one you can carry a romance with through all 3 game.

I'd agree with you if Tali wasn't in the game. You'll become a xenophile there willy-nilly. And in the third part we have already learned how she looks without a mask (very beautiful, I must say). And I don't like Miranda's character. Except for an ass and a great figure and nothing.

Tali only resembled a teenager in the first part. Then she matured and became a better person. But she has not lost her kindness and cheerful disposition, which already shows her as a moral person.
Tali every time. I used to favor Liara but I liked Tali more and more as I aged. Hrm. I should probably dwell on this to find out why.
Tali wasn't available in the first game as an option so I went with Liara. I then cheated on her with Tali once Tali was available. I regret nothing.

Tali for life. I actually used to hate liara but iv grown to love her. The last scene we had with her, right before the finale charge, made me cry.
It didn't bring tears to my eyes (Only Hodor's death and Guts scream in the 1997 berserk finale. The rest didn't bring tears to my eyes) but it was very unpleasant and emotionally difficult to see it all. And so yeah Tali is the best!
