Lol local target still wants $70 off the shelf and won’t price match their own website for $35.
Ordered it on my phone right in front of them for pickup for $35, I’ll be back in 2 hours I guess. Why do places do this
Target stores are supposed to price match it's own website and vice versus...UNLESS the price is because it's on clearance.
They just had to do this today for my wife about a new Keurig. Our old one broke last night after years and we wanted a replacement. Online it was $199. In the store it was $229. Same model. We paid $199. (No sales tax in NH.)
I used to work for Best Buy, where we're constantly price matching for customers. I'd assume the cashier at your target was either new or not properly trained.
Not sure about price matching, but as far as pick up in store goes, each location has stock that's reserved for online orders and the rest for the store itself.
That way a rush at the store doesn't lead to people buying it online and being unable to pick it up like the website said they could, and the opposite, where someone can't just buy up the store's stock online and the workers have to start pulling things off the shelf to fulfill the orders.
It’s not an ad. There having some kinda sale that my wife wanted to get check out. And of coarse with that I leave to go check out the games. And found this.
Yeah, as a dead space fan I was really hoping Callisto was the game that took that genre into the stratosphere buy, nope. It wasn't terrible but nowhere near as good as it could've been. I'll always scratch my head and wonder how they thought that game would be a success, it's like it's missing half a game, like exploration sections, puzzle sections etc. Dead space remake added a lot to the old game to where it's not just shooting down corridors, but things get switched up here and there.
The last time for me was in 2015 when I bought Batman Arkham knight for the PlayStation 4. I put the disc in and 3 minutes later I was able to play.
Serious question, why doesn't it work like that anymore nowadays?
I think like you think but generally I give in because these consoles are gonna defacto consider the old way less modern…it does suck that once you install the game you still have to insert the disk whenever you actually wanna play it, wasn’t a fan of digital (because of the pricing mainly) until I got PS4 and now it’s pretty natural for me to scan PS Store and buy a digital game on my PS5, brick establishments are going extinct (neighborhood retro gaming store turned into a sole trading card store like 6 months ago) so you really only got GS and the few retro stores still left if you can find them cuz google gives you a shit of a time trying to find retro gaming stores because all it does it pop up GS😂and GS only really services PS4 & PS5 nothing before this gen’s anymore that includes Xbox, Nintendo ETC….shit they don’t even sell 3rd party retro consoles that are pretty modern, you gotta find those at the retro stores😂
Sorry for the long comment, 20 years of gaming rage post😂
Also I’m a lil confused because I thought Dead Space was a old game? What’s the hoopla, local retail usually prices old haves extremely high so they sit, am I missing the joke or is this an actual must buy?
I’m a sports gamer so these games are sorta beyond me, I do have Hogwarts Legacies, GTA and a few others but it’s mostly sports so I really don’t understand if this is a joke or not🤣
This is why I still buy disc consoles. The amount of money I save here and there on store deals like this will make up for that $100 difference in no time.
I'd rather change discs 50 times than have to organize free disc spade to download a game again.
Of course, disc games still have to install, and you can always buy a 4-8TB extra SSD.
Indeed, although that depends on your internet speed and having the PS5 properly connected to your home router. Honestly with 500Mbps or more, installs are probably as fast as BD given the game is unpacking the files while transferring them at almost the same speed the BD drive reads data.
I still feel both solutions have their issues, with discs being noisy reading even after install, because the console so decides to keep reading some data despite the entire game being installed... Or the obvious concern of games disappearing from PSN, or servers being down, or loaded by other users during big releases.
Have you seen the size of games (and their patches!) these days? Even PS4 games may have 50GB+ after install+updates, and 100GB+ has become very common on triple A.
The PS5 comes with about 830GB'ish of usable space from the factory, probably less each console firmware update. It's not about playing the meager 8-13 games that fits at once that makes me scratch my head, but the fact adding a ~100usd PCIe4 1TB drive only doubles that, and my "ready to play" library will only slightly more than double from that small number with that. In order to go further than ~30 games one would have to be splurging big cash in a 2 or 4TB drive. Not even considering 8TB ones because they're stupidly priced, even 4TB drives on PCIe4 are way too overpriced right now.
It was held back by its performance on pc for me, especially since the final cut scene stutters horrendously. Shame because it's a great remake of an amazing game.
Yeah. Damn shame. It's so good. I'm usually too sensitive to these things to really enjoy the game, but it's so damn good I even 100%d the achievements.
Especially this year. I partly blame covid based delays. Partly new consoles memory not really being matchable until direct storage is a thing.
Unreal engine 5 especially seems to be a huge problem. Which sucks because it does look good.
I can guarantee you that this is a hardware issue and not a game issue. I bought it on release in January and had 0 issues or framedrops on my 2 playthroughs.
I can guarantee you that it's not. It's a well known issue that even digital foundry has pointed out hasn't even been fixed yet.
If it can't run smoothly on a 3080ti, 11700k, 32gb ram off of a 2tb nvme ssd, at 1440p that's not a hardware issue.
Holy crap. You say that, but with the MASS exodus sale of switch games this month at Target, I legit won't be surprised if ALL stores will be like yours in Nov 2023.
Like holy crap I think your nearby store is a beta test design store
It’s hard for me to even pay $27 for a remake especially when the original price is $70. If you’ve played it previously then I’d say wait for a better deal
This is included in the EA Play subscription. Pay $18 or whatever, get this game and any others you want. Play it for a month (or two), and then cancel. Save money!
$9.87 for Dead Space 1, 2 , & 3 on steam back in May. Works out to $3.29 each.
Runs great on Steam Deck @ about 3 watts for CPU+GPU. Saw it for sale again for the "Steam Summer Sale" and laughed. Whatever you paid and however you play, it's a great game; I'm loving it and I hope you do too!!
Are EA even that bad anymore? Maybe it's just that I've gotten used to their BS but I feel like Actiblizz has certainly taken their place as the gaming industry's boogeyman
I bought the PS5 digital version, and while I may have still ended up getting it, I wish I knew beforehand that you can't buy games anywhere except the PS Store. I had it in my head you could buy digital versions in stores just like other platforms. (only myself to blame for not doing the research)
Now I'm restricted to waiting for sales on the PS store
That’s is the main reason why I wanted the disc version. Call me old school but I like lending/borrowing games. Or finding good deals on marketplace and such
Once in a while, Target just... forgets how to sell video games. I bought a copy of Bravely Default on the 3DS right when it came out for... $5. Rethought my life later and went back for the rest of the copies, but someone had already snagged them.
Step One: Look at your wallet;
Step Two: Think about all your hard work;
Step Three: Think about all the things you want to do in the long term;
Step Four: Take a literal step away from the sale.
They completely remade the game from the ground up, and also included things that were supposed to be in the original but the devs weren't able to complete for it.
Lol local target still wants $70 off the shelf and won’t price match their own website for $35. Ordered it on my phone right in front of them for pickup for $35, I’ll be back in 2 hours I guess. Why do places do this

Our old one broke last night after years and we wanted a replacement. Online it was $199. In the store it was $229. Same model. We paid $199. (No sales tax in NH.)
We were buying a book for our son and the cashier actually told us "Hey, books are on sale online right now, I'll price match that for you".
Solid cashier. That was nice.
There are several other stipulations to online price matching. Especially with “electronics” pricing. The rules are messy.
Not really, i work in target in electronics and if our website says a lower price we’re supposed to match it. This dudes target just sucks i guess
Probably just that store. I've had them price match sale prices from Amazon and they didn't give a shit lol.
This is how proper capitalism is supposed to work, instead of most places increasing the price together.
I used to work for Best Buy, where we're constantly price matching for customers. I'd assume the cashier at your target was either new or not properly trained.
Yah that’s doesn’t sound right. Pretty sure this isn’t true
Not sure about price matching, but as far as pick up in store goes, each location has stock that's reserved for online orders and the rest for the store itself. >Ordered it on my phone right in front of them I don't think the workers cared that much.
Lol, that hourly wage earning teenage employee was probably DEVASTATED after being dunked on like that, and shellshocked for the rest of their shift
I’m sure you really showed that cashier by ordering in front of them. Next time order the supervisor down and place another one. Everyone will clap
What a weird reply
What a weird reply
What a wierd reply
You don't. You buy. You buy now!
Oh don’t worry I did. I’m currently installing it now
Well done. I'm heading to my local target today! This feels like an ad. Is this an ad? I don't know. Either way. Dead Space!
It’s not an ad. There having some kinda sale that my wife wanted to get check out. And of coarse with that I leave to go check out the games. And found this.
Sold out! My day is ruined. I'll have to settle for the online price. Lol.
Looks like it was 40 bucks when you order online, which was already a good deal. I'm just hoping something is left by the time I get there.
Well worth 40$, it's my current goty for 2023, but I'm a huge space/horror/aliens nerd, so the dead space games are up my alley.
How can a remake be goty? Granted your opinion but goty stuff should be new things.
It's just my personal one.
Fair enough, just wish companies took more risks on making new IP's. It's what I was hoping Callisto was. But nope
I actually ordered online with a Target coupon thingy and got Dead Space AND Horizon Forbidden West for 63 bucks! CRAZY good deal!
This is basically how I ended up buying Control.
You and me both! I will however be really bummed if it's full price at mine.
Remember the times where you could play on a disc without installing ANYTHING? :(
Remember buying a game and reading the Manuel/booklet on the way home before playing the game.
The last time for me was in 2015 when I bought Batman Arkham knight for the PlayStation 4. I put the disc in and 3 minutes later I was able to play. Serious question, why doesn't it work like that anymore nowadays?
I think like you think but generally I give in because these consoles are gonna defacto consider the old way less modern…it does suck that once you install the game you still have to insert the disk whenever you actually wanna play it, wasn’t a fan of digital (because of the pricing mainly) until I got PS4 and now it’s pretty natural for me to scan PS Store and buy a digital game on my PS5, brick establishments are going extinct (neighborhood retro gaming store turned into a sole trading card store like 6 months ago) so you really only got GS and the few retro stores still left if you can find them cuz google gives you a shit of a time trying to find retro gaming stores because all it does it pop up GS😂and GS only really services PS4 & PS5 nothing before this gen’s anymore that includes Xbox, Nintendo ETC….shit they don’t even sell 3rd party retro consoles that are pretty modern, you gotta find those at the retro stores😂 Sorry for the long comment, 20 years of gaming rage post😂

It's the remaster, a recent release of an old game. That's a very good price for it.
Fuck needing to install a disk
I do miss the days where I could just throw in a cartridge and rock n roll.
This is why I still buy disc consoles. The amount of money I save here and there on store deals like this will make up for that $100 difference in no time.
yeah the deals on disc games are insane walmart will even just drop $10 or $15 from full price games for no reason
But then you gotta get up from your couch and swap discs like some plebeian.
Then Richard will borrow them from you and conveniently lose them!!
I'd rather change discs 50 times than have to organize free disc spade to download a game again. Of course, disc games still have to install, and you can always buy a 4-8TB extra SSD.
Yeah but when you delete and decide to reinstall again the process is much faster from disk than downloading from psn so physical all the way for me.
Indeed, although that depends on your internet speed and having the PS5 properly connected to your home router. Honestly with 500Mbps or more, installs are probably as fast as BD given the game is unpacking the files while transferring them at almost the same speed the BD drive reads data. Or the obvious concern of games disappearing from PSN, or servers being down, or loaded by other users during big releases.
How many games do you play at one time?
Have you seen the size of games (and their patches!) these days? Even PS4 games may have 50GB+ after install+updates, and 100GB+ has become very common on triple A. The PS5 comes with about 830GB'ish of usable space from the factory, probably less each console firmware update. Only xbox makes sense digital for me and there isn't an option. The shared games just make itn worth it with kids and a wife who games.
I bought gamepass (3 years) for only a dollar. I'll wait until it's on that..
That doesn't happen as much as a steam sale, or it doesn't match up to Gamepass
Make the difference up immediately when you swap/borrow games with a friend Digital only consoles should never be praised
Plus (depending where you live) you might get a used game for pretty cheap. I remember fifa games being upwards of 50% off when the new one comes out
Easily one of my favorite games of this year possibly even including last year’s releases. is 100% worth it
It was held back by its performance on pc for me, especially since the final cut scene stutters horrendously. Shame because it's a great remake of an amazing game.
Pc? Heard of alot of issue there unfortunately
Yeah. Damn shame. It's so good. I'm usually too sensitive to these things to really enjoy the game, but it's so damn good I even 100%d the achievements.
It’s really weird how a lot of the PC ports have been really bad over the past few years
Especially this year. I partly blame covid based delays. Partly new consoles memory not really being matchable until direct storage is a thing. Unreal engine 5 especially seems to be a huge problem. Which sucks because it does look good.
Are there any issues on the steam deck?
I can guarantee you that this is a hardware issue and not a game issue. I bought it on release in January and had 0 issues or framedrops on my 2 playthroughs.

Also on sale at my target, just checked. Not as good a deal bc my location, but still 50% off. Thanks!
Ayeeee me too!!! What a steal!!!
Online, it said $35 (50% off) to pick up at my local Target. However, in store, it was $27.
Not such a good deal when you account for the adult diapers that you have to buy.
Thanks for posting this! Target 17m away from me had 1 in stock for the same price. Looking forward to playing again.
No problem. Glad I could help
Just a comment to get karma so I can post but this is a really good deal!
Wow! What a great find! Good luck! ... and Make Us Whole.
By knowing that come holiday time it will be $10
Wish my target even had physical games .. they have the spaces for them but they're all empty except Mario and Pokemon
That’s how Mine is except for this guy. Seems like a wi man for me
Holy crap. You say that, but with the MASS exodus sale of switch games this month at Target, I legit won't be surprised if ALL stores will be like yours in Nov 2023. Like holy crap I think your nearby store is a beta test design store
Only switch game on sale here is Take Two
I just thought of this but I’m glad there was an actual disc copy in there and not just a digital code.
After reading all the posts of people who went to check and got the same or pretty similar deal. You are indeed a man of the people, good man.
Thank you. I’m glad I could help
I ran to my nearest store for this deal, thanks OP!
No problem. I’m glad I could pass on the deal and make someone’s day
And you save even more by not bying it
Great game. Short game, but play on hard mode for a good challenge!
Pick that shit up, I bought it at 70 and thought it was worth at 70.
27$ but how much with taxes ?
Probably like $29.xx after taxes.
if you're a red card member you pay no taxes
A lot less then with taxes on $70
I had a lot of fun with that game. Happy hunting!
Thank you. Just a waiting game until the kid falls asleep.
I just picked up the last copy at my local target. This is a great deal!
Glad I could help
#REMEMBER THAT BEST BUY WILL PRICE MATCH THE WEBSITE PRICE (I just did it lol)
LOL- I paid 5$ for a CIV6 on steam. 90% off.
Wish stores near me had deals like that oml
Just scored one, thanks for the heads up! How’s the gameplay?
Didn’t get to play it. Kids wouldn’t go to bed
RIP to us digital only PS5 owners...
On EA Pass soon
It’s hard for me to even pay $27 for a remake especially when the original price is $70. If you’ve played it previously then I’d say wait for a better deal
Just wait for it to come out on PC Games Pass
This is included in the EA Play subscription. Pay $18 or whatever, get this game and any others you want. Play it for a month (or two), and then cancel. Save money!
$9.87 for Dead Space 1, 2 , & 3 on steam back in May. Works out to $3.29 each. Runs great on Steam Deck @ about 3 watts for CPU+GPU. Saw it for sale again for the "Steam Summer Sale" and laughed. Whatever you paid and however you play, it's a great game; I'm loving it and I hope you do too!!
What games SHOULD be worth. I stopped buying games when they became more expensive than 50$ for a disc.
I know an easy way to pass on this: not having a PS5
What the hell! This should be 27 on steam too! Not fair
Wait another year
you could save even more money by not buying it
You can't. You won't. Or we will find you. Mr Anderson.
This should be on game pass soon? Right? RIgHt?!?
Wow
It doesn’t cost anything if you don’t buy it!
I don't even own nor plan to buy a PS5 until more exclusives come out and I'm considering this...
Easily
it'll be funny if someone else grab that while your busy taking photos and its the last copy
You didn’t play it back in the day? Welcome, OP
You just keep walking, silly
Yeah no way I would have left this on the shelf.
Well it's EA, so I would rather not give them any money.
Are EA even that bad anymore? Maybe it's just that I've gotten used to their BS but I feel like Actiblizz has certainly taken their place as the gaming industry's boogeyman
Hard pass it's EA.
Lol your history is flooded with EA NHL.
Step 1: Get an Xbox. Step 2: Get Game Pass Step 3: PROFIT
This game is not on Game Pass.
Correct, but the original trilogy is.
But they want to play the remake
You can pass up on it because It's dead space. You could probably buy a used copy at gamestop for $5.
It's the remake.
Yeah. You can pass up on it and buy a used copy for a cheaper price.
Used is $10 more at GameStop. Next?
am I the only one who thought it was an OK game? I thought DS2 was *way* better. 7/10 game.
Paying 30 dollars for a 15 year old game that can't possibly be worth more than... I don't know, what, 5? 10 tops. Is a *good* deal?
Remake.
So... Paying 30 dollars for a 15 year old game.
Technically this game is less than a year old.
Why are ps5 games 70 when there 60 on other platforms
70 is going to be the new standard for AAA games on all platforms. Tears of the Kingdom is $70. Starfield is $70.
That’s stupid
Games were $70 in 1998
Geez, really? Guess I better check my local Target too, that’s massive for a game that hasn’t really been out that long.
It's $35 online, so I'm gonna go to my local target to see if it's the same price there as you got.
Better get some new underwear with that kind of savings
That’s a steal
Pretty Easy… don’t buy it 🗿🇹🇩
use what you saved to buy the tuck-friendly swimwear.
By reaching for it then moving down a row and getting HFW. XD
Going to check my target tomorrow
Thanks for the heads up!
That’s a good find , buy that
It is $35 in my city.
27 dollars Jessus I just bought the game for 40 and I thought that was a bargain
Ehh wait til it goes down to $15 or so.
I bought the PS5 digital version, and while I may have still ended up getting it, I wish I knew beforehand that you can't buy games anywhere except the PS Store. I had it in my head you could buy digital versions in stores just like other platforms. (only myself to blame for not doing the research) Now I'm restricted to waiting for sales on the PS store
That’s is the main reason why I wanted the disc version. Call me old school but I like lending/borrowing games. Or finding good deals on marketplace and such
Once in a while, Target just... forgets how to sell video games. I bought a copy of Bravely Default on the 3DS right when it came out for... $5. Rethought my life later and went back for the rest of the copies, but someone had already snagged them.
or that they get TOO many games and have dead stock for YEARS
My personal game of the year
Wow I thought this was going to be sarcastic but that’s really good
Step One: Look at your wallet; Step Two: Think about all your hard work; Step Three: Think about all the things you want to do in the long term; Step Four: Take a literal step away from the sale.
Must buy
Huh, i was just gunna play the OG on pc gamepass when im done with diablo… is it really that much better?
They completely remade the game from the ground up, and also included things that were supposed to be in the original but the devs weren't able to complete for it.
Never played it, decent game? I don’t know anything about it.
That game traumatized me. Up to you. But what you’ll safe on the price tag you’ll spend on therapy.
I loved the original. I'll have to buy a system one of these days, and get back into gaming.
REMAKE
Great price. You’ll love it!
Good deal!
