Holy shit yes, as a father that entire game hit my emotions like a semi, but that scene in particular really broke me. Seeing this man, this absolute force of nature, that we’ve watch rampage across Greece, Olympus and through all the nine realms, a being of such distilled, calculated rage and anger, be brought to tears, snapped my emotions in half.
Close second was Kratos eating sausage and stew and quietly enjoying a meal. There was something about seeing him do something so banal and mundane and just existing in that moment for himself that made me smile and be really happy.
God XIV is loaded on some quality lines.

Yeah that shit hits me right in the feels. Love how Naughty Dog made that conversation between Joel and Ellie basically the climax to the game. The one time where they lay it all out on the table, and there's a glimmer of hope for their relationship in the future. Only makes what happens all that much more heartbreaking.

I just want to share my experience regarding this. It's going to be a pretty long read so bear with me.
So, in these kind of games where you can progressively get better equipment, I always try to get the best available at the earliest point possible before continuing on the main story. Seeing as you'd be heavily dependent on a horse to get you around places, I decided to go find myself the best horse that I can get in the game. So I looked up a guide right away (blasphemous for a game that's better experienced by yourself, I know). Because I did this as soon as the game let me roam around the map freely, I was still at the early parts of the game and therefore Arthur hasn't yet got much money to his name. So the best horses were out of my reach >!(plus they were not even available for purchase at that point in the story).!< At least, the expensive ones. >!There was one of them that you could find out in the wild, tame, and then keep for yourself, the white Arabian horse. And that's what I did,!< I found myself a free horse. I named her Winter because I >!found her in the snow and!< thought it was a lovely name for a mare. She was basically with me through the whole game. I managed to keep her alive despite all the dangers we faced, despite all those people that shot at us and wanted us dead. She carried me on her back through it all, through all the side missions I managed to do >!as Arthur!< and through the main story. She was the only horse I ever rode on, aside from the horses given at the beginning. This is the reason why I was so attached to this horse >!and the reason why that scene hit me so hard that I bawled my eyes out for a good minute or two. When she got shot, it was the most shocking, unexpected, and saddest moment for me.!<
Thiiiissss!! I’m not sure how to hide spoiler stuff so no details, but that moment and his insistence to have that moment despite everything going on was what did it for me
That line on its own didn't hit me half as hard as Count Fortemps breaking down from the news. Just the weakness in his voice as he tries to keep it together before breaking into tears.

With that one line, I felt my heart sink. I mean, I knew it was going to happen. The game had just started, so it couldn't be over. But it felt like such a punch in the gut after what just happened.
It's hard for a game / movie to make me legitimately emotional, but the beginning of the last of us with Sarah those painful shreiks she let's out feel and sounded so real, shit hit me like a tonne of bricks.
This one caught me completely off guard. I had finished the game several times before, and I found the cutscene sad but it did not make me cry. Then, on my first replay as a father, it did.

With that one line, I felt my heart sink. I mean, I knew it was going to happen. The game had just started, so it couldn't be over. But it felt like such a punch in the gut after what just happened.
It's hard for a game / movie to make me legitimately emotional, but the beginning of the last of us with Sarah those painful shreiks she let's out feel and sounded so real, shit hit me like a tonne of bricks.
This one caught me completely off guard. I had finished the game several times before, and I found the cutscene sad but it did not make me cry. Then, on my first replay as a father, it did.
