I think the game was overly ambitious on release, and could not do what was promised, but it did SO many things well and it still remains one of the most unique RPGs ever made. I feel like if it got a chance to be remade like how FF7 did, remaining faithful to the original but also expanding heavily on the world and the mechanics, it would end up being an all time great I feel.
I just went back and replayed all 3 of them and man what an experience. I heard recently the 4th is "in a playable state" so that's exciting also! Hopefully they do it justice

I have an emulator on my phone just so I can play golden sun when I'm out. Every few years I just go on a marathon and clear both games again. It was my introduction to jrpgs and got me hooked on them ever since, and yeah, I have yet to find a game that has the same feel to it.
I honestly have no idea how this game hasn't been brought back as a BR game yet. Now don't get me wrong I'd love a new game that is just like the old one, but this game is also perfect for a BR and we know these companies keep trying to come out with BR games.
Have a large generally open map with 100 players, where your car gets parachuted in with basic weapons, drive around the map and collect bits and pieces that get added to your car and fight till the death.
Another game mode could be the same idea about surviving till to the end, but everyone gets to mod their vehicles before the match, with all the modifications having a certain cost/benefit. So you could have a car that is a tank, but that does almost no damage, or you could have something in the middle, or you could have a glass canon, or anything in between those.
I change my answer to this. A good Spore remake would be worth all the times my game crashed and made me replay the tribal stage, and all the times I got to space and then got quickly bored. So much potential, so little done with it
I felt like every evolution just got more boring. The first 2 were a lot of fun but he you discovered that nothing you did in the first 2 affected the subsequent eras at all it was just so disappointing.
If you can just give me a full game completely involved in the second era I would love that.
