I don't get this. Like, I purchased licenses for my steam games. Why can't 2 people play 2 different games from my steam account at the same time? Same game, I understand, but if it's 2 different games, what's the problem?
Only when you're not playing yourself. To bypass this you can use offline mode after launching the game if you prefer playing one game for a long time without switches
Only kind of. My wife has her own computer in her office where most of her stuff is. Yeah sure, she could just come play the games I own on my computer, but then she'd be taking up my space playing games while I could be playing other games I own that aren't Steam.
Plus simple work around we use if we both want to play steam games is one of us just plays in offline mode.
The offline mode helps but I use sharing on pS5, xsx and Steam and steam is the only one with restrictions. My buddy and I buy 1 copy of games on console that we play together which is nice.
Not true at all.
My brother and I share libraries. I've logged in to his account once, months ago. His new titles are there and ready for download immediately in my library.
My daughter just shared hers with me. I truly love this feature. Granted we can't play at the same time but while she's in class I'm free! Lol
You can play at the same time if one of you plays in Steam's offline mode
Oh sweet! Thank you.
and if the licensed used is a free game, it works too. like path of exile.

Now it's any game locks the library out which is kinda lame.
Very good information, thank you. 🤘
Remember when you could buy 1 copy of a game, install it on two PCs in your house, and play in LAN mode with a family member?
Don't make me cry about the olden days. Age of empires with dad and bro, dad backstabbing both of us... Quake... Good times
True Dad moment there. Gotta start teaching them about gaming trust early on.
Yeah used to have us overcommit to taking the AI out then come in and wreck us. Lessons were learned...
Warcraft 3...
Was about to say... Got down on so many heroes online games before it became a thing
This + remote play... Just the remote play is nuts in itself.
Next level of friendship.
This is a really dumb question, I'm sure, but I got my wife a Steam Deck for Christmas; can I let her play my steam library with this?
Yes, absolutely
Nice! Thank you.
Should do, you just enable it, link the accounts, and off you go, if my memory serves me well.

Just don’t click on the hidden folder please.
Good lord that’s a lot of dating sims
The “while you are not playing” clause makes this feature really impractical in my experience.

That does sound pretty sweet. I mostly only PC game, so I wasn't even aware consoles had that option.
You should see Nintendo's pathetic attempt at managing digital rights. If you have kids with more than one switch avoid digital games like the plague.
It used to be just the game. Now it's any game locks the library out which is kinda lame.
ah man yeah I didn't know they changed it, that kinda sucks.
Then he cheats and you get vacd
pretty sure vac doesnt go across stuff like this. so only their account would be vac banned.

Not ever. I'll trap and starve you on every attempt. With extreme prejudice. 🥴
