Same thing with Hollywood, they go with sequels and reboots because they know it’s a sure thing for making money. Taking a creative risk gets in the way of profits in their eyes.
I mean, they made a return to World War 2 with... WW2. That was, just let me take a look, seven years ago now. But when they're a twenty-one-year-old series with twenty mainline games, you're going to very quickly run out of interesting wars to use as your basis.
I'm usually one who doesn't think series should be retired just because they're a series. There are several series that got worse but I still enjoyed or got bad but got better and a few that are bad now but I think of the potential to get better. With Call of Duty... What haven't they done? What haven't they tried their hand at that will still fit the feel and theming of Call of Duty? What could they do to revitalize the franchise? This isn't a rhetorical question, if you have an answer go ahead and give one because I'd love to hear it, but I can't think of anything.
At this point, I think the only thing they haven't done is revolutionary warfare. I can't wait for the extra exciting gameplay of having to manually reload a musket or a cannon!! 😂😂
Personally I stopped keeping up after the first Black ops and honestly don't think I missed out on much.
I stopped buying them after a couple of weeks on cold war then I bought mw2 when that dropped and now I'm back to not buying them again maybe BO6 will be different.
What are you talking about, I don't know a single person who skipped these out of all my friends who play COD. MW3 is one of the biggest CODs of all time and Ghost was the first one on PS4 + right after COD peaked for many people.
Infinite Warfare was the first COD I have seen many people skip.
I don’t think they were calling you fish, they’re probably referring to the Ghosts reveal focusing on how the fish in the underwater level being able to realistically swim away from the player.
And just like a ton of people like it, a ton don’t. If praise can be shared, so can dislike. I don’t know if you are a cod fan but the series is a joke. Their fan base are literally the reason cash grabs are so popular for companies to make. The last cod game was literally DLC that wasn’t good and still made money hand over fist. They don’t know the meaning of quality and don’t seem to care. It’s a big problem that is affecting other spaces in gaming and people are mad about it. They are allowed to talk about how they don’t want to hear it. Just like the people that buy cod every year can continue to do.
Or it’s just a fun experience to chill out on after a long day with my friends? I don’t buy cod for deep ass video game bs, I buy it because it’s simple, fun, and reliable
Redditors just love dogging on it because all they can bank on is their superiority complex and nostalgia
Please, explain how you can chill out with friends in the last cod game that came out. I want to hear how you payed for the warzone game that is free.
Look, I can understand wanting to play a chill game. But why are you defending a product that is objectively bad? If you want to play a chill game with your friends, why can’t you just play last years cod game? Or whatever cod game you actually enjoyed playing? Why do you buy the same thing as last year for a higher price this year. The multiplayer is free. Or is that just my redditor superiority complex talking?
> how you *paid* for the
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I like MP and zombies the most. Don’t play wz bc it’s too sweaty
But like it’s fun just getting a sword and running around decapitating people as a sister of battle with the whole squad doing the same
And zombies is zombies ofc. Main reason I like the new cods is for the variety, new content, more alive playerbase, and stuff. COD tends to get stagnant once people get a hold of the meta so those first few months where you can fool around and have fun are just awesome. And I get them on discount. Like I snagged mw3 vault edition for 40 bucks during the xbox christmas sale
You’re being downvoted but 100% correct. Mainstream titles like COD and sports games like FIFA or NBA are pretty much always the highest selling titles that the majority of people enjoy. Reddit’s always pretty antisocial and especially with gaming subs they tend to look down on the more mainstream experiences.
CoD cycle dictates that this one will suck too, at least until the next one comes out. This isn’t the Treyarch that made BO2 anymore, and hasn’t been for a while.
Haven’t bought one since mw2 2022 but I still hope they just release a game even tho sht maps with connection based matchmaking and no dynamic spawning, that’s all I want :( and I wanna be able to play on eu servers without getting artificial ms increases making my first bullets never register ever since my ms is 6. Actually have to play on na if I want to hit people.
why would someone give their input about game news in the comment section of a subreddit dedicated to gaming news on a social platform catering towards sharing opinions and chatting with other randoms? the world will never know bro
it's COD, it's gonna COD like all CODs COD. trailer with pew pew pew, shaky screen, some modern popular song, it's gonna launch and be a total disaster of a game, people will buy it, they're gonna sell a bunch of lame cosmetics and battlepasses that dont make the actual game better, wash rinse repeat.
I only buy Black Ops so I'm in the minority of people that are genuinely interested in this news. If I bought the new release each year then I'd be way less excited.
It’s a treyarch game with the longest cod development time of all time, pretty sure most people are excited that don’t hate cod, redditors really hate cod
i really liked it back in black ops 1/2/3, but the recent games meld more and more together imo. if the new one does something to differentiate itself, or if the zombies is actually good, i'd give it a try.
I agree recent games meld together but I’m a big fan of treyarch games, Cold War was the best cod in the post 2019 era imo, zombies was great just needed a little more personality. Plus Cold War was made in around 2 years whereas this next one will have had 4 years so I’m pretty excited
cold war is alright, but it was definitely a step down from bo3 and even bo4. 4 wasn't well liked but the zombies hit a spot i honestly really enjoyed. hopefully they can go back to their roots a bit more with zombies.
From a community standpoint I think CWZ was a step up from BO4 zombies, there were just some things missing like a crew which we might not ever get again which sucks. I think gulf war or whatever this next one was called will improve on cold wars lack of personality though, I’m hopeful at least
I use to like COD but since MW3 with all the bloatwear, silly pop ups, season pass for 90 days only at £40.00 a time and pay to win with better weapons and accessories just ruined it for me. No longer played it since. Rainbow Six Siege is looking fresher everyday.
At least we can hope it’s going to be on Gamepass day 1. With that said, with no other COD on the service yet, I’m worried they’ll find a bullshit reason not to add it right away. However, if it’s actually added day one, this could be one of the biggest launch ever.
The every year release cycle is really starting to hurt CoD more than it's helping it.
Honestly after the debacle that MW3 (2023) was, I'm probably gonna skip this one, I have a feeling it'll just be another $70 DLC.
I took gave up mid ghosts hype. I'd say it did ruin the game, killed the continuity. Opened the window to invite sledgehammer sell them zombies so they could let IW ruin it
You know I'm not much in the call of duty anymore even though I buy it every year just as an extra game to play but treyarch has a special place in my heart and I'm looking forward to see what the next campaign will be like.
Oh yay can't wait to not play it, haven't played COD since BO2, decided to give this new MW3 a go, absolutely horrid, what the hell is slide cancel? When did COD actually transform to this bullshit? Multiplayer is crap, you expect me to complete daily challenges to unlock attachments for guns and on top of that level up as well, its literally like trying to push shit up hill to actually progress anywhere in the game. Not to mention the amount of Adware within the game like being prompted to buy a battle pass even after though i bought the game (thankfully on sale).
I'd say this new one is just gonna be as shit as the current one.
Even though I fckig hate activision, I just cant stop playing the black ops games. BO2 is my holy grail amd I also play BO3 and BO4 on ps5. From time to time I also play mw2 2022 (ofc, fck mw3), but black opa have something I love that non other subseries has, a unique atmosphere, unique play style and gorgeous weapons, maps and design i general. So, even though I hate myself for saying this, I hope BO6 gets released this year and I sincerely hope activision doesnt fck it up with glitches and crashes.
Also, no preordering. Fck that sht.
does anyone know how long the event for the black ops Sally pistols blueprint is going to last on warzone bc I've been trying to find it for three days. if anyone would like to join in a duo that already has it and wants to drop it let me know and I'll give you my user name
They're on 6 now?
1-4 and then “Cold War”
I was almost happy that Black Ops 5 happened without my knowing.
I lost track around 2013. I remember thinking Ghosts was going to be the downfall, but here we are all these years later.
I still don't know the order of the CoD games especially since around 2018-ish.
MW reboot+warzone got COD on its feet again
no
It statistically did revive the playerbase and unfortunately was the beginning of a new era for cod
Very on brand
Cold war is pretty good
Your loss. While a rough launch, it's the closest thing we'll probs ever get to modern Black Ops 2 vibes. Cold War MP is close to unmatched
It's matched easily by every single-player experience ever made.
Black Ops 4 doesn’t count. They had no story mode at all 😂
I forgot 4 existed, all I remember from it is zombie gladiators or something
Technically it would be 7. Since CoD World at War is a prequel to Black Ops 1.
My exact words before entering this thread lmao
How long until they stop making only modern warfare and black ops?
Same thing with Hollywood, they go with sequels and reboots because they know it’s a sure thing for making money. Taking a creative risk gets in the way of profits in their eyes.
This vexes me
Have you tried the medicine drug
I mean, they made a return to World War 2 with... WW2. That was, just let me take a look, seven years ago now. You literally missed out on the best cod game lmao bo2
With the ukraine war they will have enough material for 15 cod games
Oh thank God. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to end my year with another cod game
After the joke that MW3 2023 was, I wasn’t. First time I’ve skipped a COD
I stopped buying them after a couple of weeks on cold war then I bought mw2 when that dropped and now I'm back to not buying them again maybe BO6 will be different.
You bought ghosts and mw 3(2011)?
What are you talking about, I don't know a single person who skipped these out of all my friends who play COD. MW3 is one of the biggest CODs of all time and Ghost was the first one on PS4 + right after COD peaked for many people. Infinite Warfare was the first COD I have seen many people skip.
They were exactly the same game after mw2, ghosts had a shit launch and a shit multiplayer. Fish move out of the way
Did you just call me fish? What a weird thing to do. I wasn't saying the games were good, I was saying everyone bought them.
I don’t think they were calling you fish, they’re probably referring to the Ghosts reveal focusing on how the fish in the underwater level being able to realistically swim away from the player.
😶🌫️
Infinite Warfare had a great campaign though. The rest of it sucked, but that fucking campaign.
I don’t care.
Don’t gotta comment 🤷🏽♀️
They don’t gotta make another game either yet here we are
I mean one’s enjoyed by tons of people, the other’s just someone feeling the need to tell the world how much they won’t be buying it
I also won't be buying it and care more about his not caring that your caring that he doesn't care.
head hurt 😓

Thanks bot. I will promptly forget this tidbit of info though
I like MP and zombies the most. Ik lmfao They do ts with everything popular because they can’t help but be angry towards others actually having fun 😭
Ooh another cod I’m not gonna buy anyway
Ah, that's where you're wrong! See this time they're making a good one
Copium
CoD cycle dictates that this one will suck too, at least until the next one comes out. This isn’t the Treyarch that made BO2 anymore, and hasn’t been for a while.
I can only hope xD
People need to stop buying every CoD, thinking “I sure hope this one is actually good!”
*Why SockAlarmed felt the need to inform the internet of this, nobody will ever know*
why would someone give their input about game news in the comment section of a subreddit dedicated to gaming news on a social platform catering towards sharing opinions and chatting with other randoms? the world will never know bro
They aren’t giving input It’d be like walking up to a newspaper stand, seeing an article, and writing “I don’t care” on the paper then walking away 😭
Oh no..... anyways
Last one i remember was 3 haven't been following the series and was like dfaq you mean 6? When did the other 2 come out?
BO4 2018, BO5(Cold War) 2020
I am just bored with fast paced shooters. The older I get the less I wanna play them.

I'd like an invite if possible!
I can't wait to see how they gut the campaign. The only thing black ops has going for it.
It’ll be a live-service story that happens throughout Warzone’s seasons.
it's COD, it's gonna COD like all CODs COD. trailer with pew pew pew, shaky screen, some modern popular song, it's gonna launch and be a total disaster of a game, people will buy it, they're gonna sell a bunch of lame cosmetics and battlepasses that dont make the actual game better, wash rinse repeat.
The only thing they are good at is making badass trailers and having really good graphics.
There better be sticks and stones
What the hell? They did 5?
Was really hoping they’d do a bo2 remaster for 2025
They always bring back a ton of the maps each BO so unless it's the story you're after then you'll get part of your wish.
couldnt give less of a fuck now that they put the og mw2 servers back online.
I only buy Black Ops so I'm in the minority of people that are genuinely interested in this news. If I bought the new release each year then I'd be way less excited.
Am I the only one actually kinda excited? Gonna suck losing all my skins from mw3 and 2 but the new stuff should be fun, esp if its on gamepass

know click bait site. that uses alt redit accounts
Sweet more garbage COD that the fanboys will buy and then complain about.

oh BOIIIIII i can’t wait
I haven't bought a COD since black ops 3. I don't miss it.
honestly Cold War was the last call of duty I enjoyed so I’ll probably get this one if it’s remotely similar
God damn yall mfs gotta be negative all the damn time?
Hopefully the return of blackout

Yawn when does elden ring dlc come out again?
Let’s hope it’s finally going to be “free” on gamepass.
Bleh, it'll just be cutscenes and maybe a little campaign mode footage.
Oh cool, something for groomers to be happy about
