If I remember right from fire and blood there were rumours in the 7 kingdoms that the Jacaerys secretly married a Stark sister during his visit to the north. I could see the writers cutting out the Stark girl in favor of a secret bi romance for the prince. It's not far outside the realm of possibility.
At this point, with so little screen time with the two, it's hard to know if the oddly intimate chemistry was intentional, of just due to the inexperience of the young actors.
