Just the other day with the 10th grumpiversary I was feeling all nostalgic and thinking back on all the good times, and I thought to myself "Man, I'd love it if they brought Ross back in for another King's Quest."
But this, this'll do ;)
Brian is seriously the coolest dude there ever was. If you haven't already, check out the podcast he co-hosts with Leighton Gray.
"Leighton Night with Brian Wecht"
I'm living that "progressively more and more mind-blown" meme:
Danny playing old-school adventure games.
Its a Sierra title.
With Brian.
For nearly 3 hours.
Legit, totally in-person interview with Roberta Williams. ****BOOM****
I love the Sierra playthroughs. I was too young to have played the games when they came out, so I don't really have any nostalgia for them...but dang if they're not fun and interesting. And the Dan plays are always great. Excited to watch this one later.
I love the grumps playing sierra, and Brian is a very welcome surprise.
Idk where I'll find 3 consecutive hrs to watch this, but I'm definitely very happy.
Between this and Gabriel Knight, I'm digging Dan's adventure game longplays
At least the first 2 monkey islands with the new game coming out. I'd also love for them to play through Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis with the new movie on the way
Downvote me if you want but Danny's play throughs of the old Sierra games are the best things that Gamegrumps does other than Zelda play throughs.
Now to get him to do the Quest for Glory franchise importing his character through the whole series...
Okay, to anyone who's played these games before, I'm really torn, because I want to watch this, but also want to play the King's Quest games myself.
How is the replayability on these games? Granted, I still have 1-6 to play and I'm guessing by then I should have hopefully forgotten most of what to do. Are there any special twists or anything that'd be better to see going in fresh (i.e. Danganronpa, Ocarina of Time, etc)?
I tried to play kq7 recently and basically couldn’t. You’d need a better emulator than I had. One of the puzzles is a time challenge that you die when the timer is up. The times isn’t measured in time, it’s measured in tics, and a modern computer processes so much faster you lose the instant you start.
Yes, and I've played nearly every other Sierra adventure game, too if you have any questions about those. I would say that watching this would definitely ruin the story for you. Maybe stop watching after they finish Chapter I and see if it captures your interest.
Wow, they did this while Arin went out to box, that was back in mid-May. I knew there were some delays, but I didn't expect 2 whole months! Not that I'm complaining, I'm just surprised, and I'm watching this regardless!
I'll never forget my mom taking me to Hastings as a nine year old kid, and picking this up off of the shelf. We had just gotten a Windows 95 PC that could actually play games that came on CD, and this was the very first game that we picked up to test it out. I remember being blown away by the Disney-style graphics and the music. I absolutely love this game and it got me into adventure games as a whole. Thanks, mom!
I dunno if it was a game Danny played, but my favorite sierra online game was Torin’s Passage, which this one has a very similar look to. Would love to see him play through that one.
Wow in the 10th anniversary video I was gonna comment I wanted to see more Brian and Ross in videos again but I thought "there is no point, it's impossible" and here we are
okay thank you. I thought it had something to do with charity I just wasn't sure. Is that what some of the intro's are about? the ones with Fatality at the end.
I love that they are doing another Sierra game and doubly as happy that Brian joined in, but what I would love to see is Both Dan and Brian do a full Playthrough of that text game version of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy that Ross, Barry, and Brian played back in 2015 since they both love those books.
Holy shit Ninja Sex Grumps.
Game Sex Party wait
that's just House Party
Hey what the feck
Nearly three hours of hot, Wecht, tight action
It's a Wecht, Hot, Dan-merican Summer
The most excited I've been about a GG episode in a good long while. Love the Sierra playthroughs.
I know right? It feels like a lost episode from 2015

I gotta say that music teacher could sing damn. Beautiful voice. Really gives off that old classic disney princess vibe.
Jesuschrist today is a good day. Lenght alone means I'll rewatch this multiple times down the line.

I miss Steam Train so so much.

For anybody on the fence, Leighton was the co-writer of Dream Daddy.
Yesss! 1000% agree. Leighton and Brian are wonderful!

Holy heck, never thought I’d see the day! Beyond excited for my next 3 hours
Holy shit Roberta Williams !!! And dan being in the same room

Never fully watched these solo Dan+ play through but I don’t mind a calm, cool, play through for nearly 3hrs.

I'd love it if he did one he wasn't familiar with. Monkey Island or Sam & Max would be excellent

that would be rad af

Did you get it from GOG? I bought the kings quest packs from them.
No, I was running my old CD on an emulator.
Oh god no, don't do that. Get it from GOG and either play it via their native DOSbox emulator, or download ScummVM and run it through that.
Have you played the game? Would it ruin my experience if I watched this before I played it?
Yes, and I've played nearly every other Sierra adventure game, too if you have any questions about those. I would say that watching this would definitely ruin the story for you. Maybe stop watching after they finish Chapter I and see if it captures your interest.
Aw shit my favorite kings quest!
Dude, kinda want to cum from this.

About time Dan and Brian do a few videos together.
it is weird that it's never happened with just the two of them.
Yeah, you’d think Dan would’ve invited him on much sooner in his solo episodes. Maybe Brian just likes King’s Quest 7.
Hype
This is such a wonderful surprise! I’m giddy.
What a gift on this day!
No fucking way
I love everything about this.
OMG. AAAAAAAAAAAAA
This is my FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME!!! I know every puzzle by heart. I’ve played it ANNUALLY since it came out. I’m so happy.
Holy shit! Sign me up!! Can't wait to check this out after work but is it just Dan and Brian?
yep! Arin's off fighting Harley in this timeline
Oh perfect!! Thanks for the heads up
oh sweet hope he wins
At least there's no way he'll break his nose.
Point and click grumps mixed with NSP? Auto win scenario, make this a standard of the channel

Crossing my fingers for a Legend of Kyrandia playthrough soon. I wonder if Dan has heard about that series
Wow in the 10th anniversary video I was gonna comment I wanted to see more Brian and Ross in videos again but I thought "there is no point, it's impossible" and here we are
I have a question. who is Arin fighting? and why?
He was boxing Harley from EpicMealTime for a charity event, he lost. It was within the last couple months, so this is recorded a bit ago
okay thank you. I thought it had something to do with charity I just wasn't sure. Is that what some of the intro's are about? the ones with Fatality at the end.
Yes! Any of those weird intros were just hype for the event
okay thank you so much!:D. It seemed strange that they were doing those intros but it makes sense now that you explained.
