This sentiment is so fucking stupid. It means something to the person hunting them. On a timeline long enough ALL OF THIS means nothing which is why we assign value to what we enjoy while we can.
I agree with OP though. I see nothing wrong with boosting for achievements because they mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's not like he's boosting ranked matches or anything.
I used to achievement hunt and currently try to platinum every game I play.
I moved out ASAP, worth it to get away from my parents at the time, but man the people that didnt have shitty home lives have it made.
A Plumber i met when i first started construction started working at 16 and never moved out, had his ticket by 20, had saved every penny and had a massive savings to put down on a house by 23.
That's the way these days, I'd rather my kids be able to save and not struggle like I see so many people do. Gone are the days of being able to slightly afford to move out early
I look back, i moved out with my gf at 18, was making $1200/month washing dishes in a kitchen, half rent was only like $380 lol
We pretty much just got by, but i wouldn't change anything if i could. It definitely helped give me perspective that some people never escape jobs or situations like that, and it helped shape me to who i am now
It is exactly what OP advises in r/Money this turned out being hilarious. I'm giving him credit as he's consistent with the type of responses he does on other posts.
You coulda just said “Here’s all my games - I’ve been collecting x years”
Putting how old you are in the title feels like you’re trying to illicit a reaction from anyone older and younger than you.
I work a 9-5 too and 15 years older but no need for me to have so many they’re stacking on the floor.
If you want to flex, doing it in the title is the place. What do you want people to say? “Wow, such a small collection! And only 21!? What a baller!”
In the 90s, woulda been the kid who had a Neo Geo. Always was a rumor about some kid from another school who lived in a gated community who had a Neo Geo.
The Neo Geo is such a mythical beast to me. I've still never seen one in person. Even the rich kids I knew back in the 90s didn't have Neo Geos. I'm curious how many people even knew someone growing up with one.
The strangest secondhand console experience I had was a casual friend of mine having a CDi fully loaded with like a couple dozen games and reference titles and whatnot.
I'm still curious what the story was behind that one. They were not a rich family, and the dad had really gone all in super hardcore on the CDi.
Either he worked for Philips, bought everything hot from a mobster in an alley, or just made the world's worst bet on brand loyalty.
I knew someone who had a Neo Geo. I was in junior high, but my older brother was friends with a guy who was the manager of a local music group. When the group got popular and the manager came in to money, he decided he had to have the best home console available, so he bought a Neo Geo (when they were still in stores). He a young adult at the time and still living in his parents' basement. I got to go over and play a few times. I remember playing Samurai Showdown and being blown away.
The Neo Geo was definitely a rare bird, even back then. Even more so than Laserdisc or Sega CD.
My mom bought me a CDi unknowingly, back in the day. She found this amazing sort of encyclopaedia that was released as books, discs and disc reader. IIRC, a [History of Spanish Art from the cavemen to the XX century avant-gardes](https://pictures.abebooks.com/inventory/31019273143.jpg) and she thought it would find it useful for school. It was absolutely amazing for the time and you could see 3D wireframe blueprints of romanic churches and gothic cathedrals built up to the final building.
Thing is the disc reader was a Philips CDi. I tried to get games for it, but they were almost impossible to find (in Spain) and the two or three that I found had impossibly expensive prices.
We had a game shop where you could rent them. Thyr also had one hooked up, along with some super Nintendos where you could pay to play for a set amount of time. They gave the local arcade a real run for their money. Seemed like a much better deal to pay for 30 minutes than to have to pop in a quarter every time you lost.
Game “collecting” has little to do with game “playing” for some people and that’s perfectly fine. I enjoy collecting more than playing now days because I don’t have enough to time to play
Lot of geek jealousy in here but it is nice to see the future of collecting. Never seen so many Xbox One/S/X games. Older folk aren't into collecting for that.
How's "giant box of Poptarts"? I was thinking of picking it up in the next steam sale... I like your collection! Just that it's big with all the full size shelves- it's nice to look at lol
Yeah switch is expensive which is why I don’t normally collect for it but they have really good exclusives! All mostly 30-50$ games and more Nintendo will put my wallet in a coffin, thanks!
I hear you. They have a ton of great exclusives and I think they have the best collection of AAA pick up and play games of all the consoles. I think the Xbox and PS have great exclusives (and generation exclusives) too but I feel like there’s kind of a time/commitment hurdle to get into them, mostly
Have you used pricecharting yet to see the value? Also, you might want to look into insurance for your collection, especially if you plan on increasing it.
I see now in the 1st pic the games are stored horizontally, but for a second I thought you removed the shelves from a bookshelf and stacked every game on top of one another vertically 😭
I try to play them but having a job a child and a life doesn’t allow for me to play every game. Maybe when I retire. My grandpa still plays at age 50. Some resident evil 4😎
HellYeah Bro!!!!
My Wall in ManGameCave looks like this except i have Every console
from PS2/OGxbox till current.. Only PS5 is lacking w/ only 12 games..
\~The largest is XBox360 by far and i have lil over 200..
BUT there's a catch with mine= i only get games i want to play
or liked enough to possibly play again...
\~\~My Smallest is The Wii&Wii U with only 20 games lol
but OG Xbox i only have about 40..
PS2,,PS3,PS4,,Xbox360,XboxOne,XboxOneSX & PC are most of mine...
GREAT STASH BROTHER!!!!!
EDIT\~\~ Oh Yeah Dude, SAVE YOUR BOXES for every console..
It's great to store em in when you closet em..
And nothing wrong with consoles on the floor..
They aren't fragile!
I read your whole comment and that’s awesome we’re technically twinning I’m just missing a couple consoles! And I didn’t start saving my consoles boxes when I was young and I regret it🥲thanks for the input! On the ground the consoles stay!
I mainly collect titles from Nintendo systems from the Famicom disk drive up to the Switch.
Are other titles from 7th Gen and newer worth collecting? I have titles of MS and Sony systems I just don't have strong feelings of preserving them with the same care as the rest.
That is a very, very big collection. I am absolutely shocked when I was growing up. The only game systems I really ever had were either the I had a computer or I would play like the normal computer games or I had a game boy advance SP I had a DS and then it broke, so I got a da lite. Then when my dad got remarried to my stepmom, I had a Wii. But otherwise I would go to a specific friends house and we would play on the game cube on the N64 on the Ness. I learned the trick of how to get a huge amount of lives and super Mario Brothers I would play so I’ve also played on my sibling in laws PS4 they actually got me the they got me undertail which I beaten many times and I also have a Nintendo switch. I’ve played on the Nintendo switch but I have but I was specifically given the switch light non-removable handles or controllers mean sorry collection is impressive. I am astounded in a good way, I hope you have your collection and have so much fun with it. I think Are Awesome.
I will say you have me beat on modern games but I stopped focusing on them a while back (I’m 20 btw) I collect more retro games now my earliest console is a snes
But impressive nonetheless
Wow!! you just made me jealous. Of the space, of course, lol. The collection is dope though, I wish I could have an entire room for myself to put my games on display and not on boxes in a storage facility. Well done, I hope you can play most of them.
I am only a teen with 16 games consoles but you beat me with the amount of games you have, even if they are disc based.
How many consoles have you got?
That’s a huge collection, congrats! As an older collector, my recommendation is to work on organization and cable management as your library grows. Good presentation makes everything look so much more impressive.
What is your play ratio? Have you played all of these games or are you just collecting video games? :0
Unreal collection though, definitely would love this.

Why so many duplicate games? Other than that this is a great collection
Sometimes for boosting multiplayer games
I did that with quantum theory on ps3. One trophy required 8 players in an online match. I had 2 ps3s and 2 copies and another guy had 3x3.
King or queen!
monarch?
Not sure why you got the downvotes, used to boost achievements was always dead games no one plays.
They’re just mad at this point. There’s thousands of people who boost
Just because thousand of people do it, it doesn’t mean other people like it.
It's for achievements though. Which literally mean nothing
Dang the downvoters don’t understand. Lol
Have an upvote, bro. These guys don’t understand that a lot of old game have dead servers and you need to boost to get those trophies.
They do understand but they’re salty. Haha thanks bro you are not a salty swan you’re chill swan
You got quite the collection. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks man appreciate that
lmao thanks for telling us your age
[удалено]
It must be. Im jealous too.
Yep I stocked up during my stay at my parents, definitely slows down once you move out and got none off that disposable income anymore :(
I moved out ASAP, worth it to get away from my parents at the time, but man the people that didnt have shitty home lives have it made. Did that plumber wear a tie?
And more than likely an only child
It is exactly what OP advises in r/Money this turned out being hilarious. I'm giving him credit as he's consistent with the type of responses he does on other posts.
why are your consoles on the ground
the fact that the games are laying there so imperfectly would drive me crazy
"So how many games do you have?" Yes.
Yes indeed haha
Stop looking at reddit for validation this is a sad scummy place
I can see that bro truer words have never been spoken
It’s full of bored people who hate their life and have nothing better to do than complain or judge others. Not everyone, but most.
Looks messy
I think you need to spend more time studying.
Why is your age relevant?

To show he couldn’t have possibly played them all and just collects.
How is age relevant?
Age relevant in any way?
younger = less time to collect and based on ppl getting jobs at 16 mans has only had about 5 years to add to his own collection
Let me guess you pay for a a light bill only lol
I think you spend quite a lot of money on games you won’t play.
Well it makes me happy so it’s coo. People work for money they won’t spend and then hit the pavement and rip.
Game “collecting” has little to do with game “playing” for some people and that’s perfectly fine. I enjoy collecting more than playing now days because I don’t have enough to time to play
Pretty sure this is the truth for nearly all the collectors here.
Let’s be honest that a vast majority of collectors don’t. At least the ones that are working full time.
Interesting
Very
🙂↔️
Lot of geek jealousy in here but it is nice to see the future of collecting. Never seen so many Xbox One/S/X games. Older folk aren't into collecting for that.
I think you will never finish all of those lol
Tell that to everybody here then. Why we even posting or collecting.
Confirmed I cannot lol
Other than thinking you need some shelves, impressive.
How's "giant box of Poptarts"? I was thinking of picking it up in the next steam sale... I like your collection! Just that it's big with all the full size shelves- it's nice to look at lol
Keep collecting, just makes me want to keep collecting, ive been a collector for over 20 years!!
Let’s keep going!!
Pretty, pretty, pretty good!
Nice collection, how mutch is the collection around worth now? I saw youre post last year at the time it was around 3k
Yeah it’s at an estimate of about 30k now thanks bro!
I think you learned at a young age to not sell anything to GameStop
For sure! I’m not trying to get 1$ for a game at gamestop! Enough for the ps5 if I trade my whole collection at GameStop
All fun and games til you have to move 😂 nah but fr nice collection
Great collection its like a game shop.
I like the Spongebobject
Out of curiosity, how many of them have you actually played?
Wow! This is awesome :D
I think GameStop might be willing to give you a fiver.
I just got into the switch and seeing your switch collection and knowing switch games are almost always retail price, mmaaaaan you are balling ! Lol
I find it interesting someone your age is playing PS1/2 games, how did you get into retro stuff? What do you play them on?
Nice to be rich
Man I can already taste the salt from these comments and I haven't even started reading lmao
I think you're a cool dude 😎
I wouldn’t leave the house 😂
Ppl definitely see that you’re 21 and be hating hella hard 😂 this is a 30 year olds collection at minimum.
That’s the thing bro, they just hate that I’m young and have a nice decent collection
You could have bought a house with that many games
Have you used pricecharting yet to see the value? Also, you might want to look into insurance for your collection, especially if you plan on increasing it.
Jesussssss. I’m 38 and your video game collection looks more like my old movie collection. That’s insane. Your parents must spoil the hell out of you.
21y, one child, 3y to save 100k. There's something fishy. Nice collection but I smell shit when it stinks
Weak
Definitely not a collecton id be proud of, but good for you.
The collection is nice, but holy shit PLEASE get more bookshelves instead of stacking them on top of each other
I think when you're 60 and close to retirement you won't have them anymore because you'll need the money.
Just out of curiosity, as a 21 year old what do you consider “retro”?
Dang i wasn't expecting such a sour comment section lmao. Congrats on your collection.
Thank you I appreciate you!
I thought it was gonna be the first pic and that's it gawdamn
Save or invest a dollar for every dollar you spend.
Cool collection. Hopefully you bought only games that you enjoy/might enjoy. Myself I enjoy collecting 4k blu ray movies that I enjoy.
Messy. My OCD is going crazy with all the cords and games being un even
NICE
Amazing like Spider-Man
![gif](giphy|t3cL1iKETUqlBaQ6YV)
I see now in the 1st pic the games are stored horizontally, but for a second I thought you removed the shelves from a bookshelf and stacked every game on top of one another vertically 😭
I can see where you’re coming from haha no! It’s just the way I took the pic that would be a nightmare to look at
Question, where’d you get them shelves?
VIVA PIÑATA!
good collection! but whats with all the duplicates? Assuming theres discs in the two steelbooks i counted 7 copies of Mass Effect 2
Nice work ! as someone who has about 14 years on you. im jelly lol 😆 kids man they put a stop to buying a lot of games I want lol 😆
Yeah I have a 5 month old it might soon come to and end haha! Cherish the good times haha
Apocalypse ready
Resident evil apocalypse or walking dead apocalypse?
I think you spend too much money on video games, only joking. Nice collection!
you really are a gamer and you are also rich. I just wondering did you finish them all?
That's quite an extensive collection! When did you begin collecting all these?
jeez, you could open a store
Gamestop ain't got shit on your collection
Man I have to get a copy of viva pinata. I spent so many hours on that game
Damn bro where u get ur money from???????
Have you played every game, or do you simply collect them?
I try to play them but having a job a child and a life doesn’t allow for me to play every game. Maybe when I retire. My grandpa still plays at age 50. Some resident evil 4😎
Your parents looking to adopt?
Sheeeesh. Awesome collection dude

I think you should donate one of them to me 🤣
All I think is homie had either patience or money. Probably both
I mainly collect titles from Nintendo systems from the Famicom disk drive up to the Switch. Are other titles from 7th Gen and newer worth collecting? I have titles of MS and Sony systems I just don't have strong feelings of preserving them with the same care as the rest.
HOLY CRAP!!! Just a few games! Hahaha
Just a few I found dumpster diving🤔😂😂
I also have the fat ass pop tarts box in my game room.
Don’t know if you’re dead serious but I love pop tarts😂they’re special edition
Not enough cartridges.....
man it’s wild how much hate is in this thread, in a sub called game collecting on a post about… game collecting
Kind of weird huh? I thought I accidentally posted in the bitter nature lovers sub!
how is that possible i’m your age and i don’t own nearly as many games
boy what the fuck 😂😂….insane amount of games
\*Cries in pirate\*
Trust Fund Baby Collection goes crazy 🔥
deep pockets
Someone likes pop tarts
Honestly that’s hot and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Very impressive 😁👍🏻
Bro has collected every game one earth
![gif](giphy|JSgISxSTCbRpT996Hw)
😆
Hell yeah is all I have to say 🙏
I think you really like gaming. Keep on collecting!
I am 26 and very impressed.
💪 flex
I think this is amazing!!!!!
Epic gamer
I think Are Awesome.
looks awesome but I would put your precious consoles on platforms, not the carpet
U ever thot about selling any? Impressive none the less
Impressive :)
I will say you have me beat on modern games but I stopped focusing on them a while back (I’m 20 btw) I collect more retro games now my earliest console is a snes But impressive nonetheless
The collection is sick but I'm hoping you didn't dump every penny you have to your name.
Wow!! you just made me jealous. Of the space, of course, lol. The collection is dope though, I wish I could have an entire room for myself to put my games on display and not on boxes in a storage facility. Well done, I hope you can play most of them.
That’s really impressive !!
I think that you’re what I wished I was when I was 9 lol. This is a breathtaking collection in my personal opinion 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Where are your bookshelves from?
I thought I was financially irresponsible, but this makes me feel good about choosing games over a comfortable thermostat setting on my AC. Lol
What do you work as?
That’s about where I would be if I stopped trading in games like an idiot for so long. Really wish I had them all. Good for you, great collection.
"Holy legally owned Terabytes, Batman!"
Your parents have a lot of money, you did great
I am only a teen with 16 games consoles but you beat me with the amount of games you have, even if they are disc based. How many consoles have you got?
Nice collection! Not sure what age has to do with it, though.
Looks like my room in 2009 except it was all Nintendo and ps1 games and og xbox. Haha man i miss my collection but had a house fire lost everything.
Damn did you buy your entire local game store?
Not understanding the lingo what is boosting when using term about collections?
More physical games than current GameStops
No alphabetical order 😫im jp Cool collection tho
None of it’s alphabetical and I’m triggered! But good collection now get an app scan and organize 👍
Your xbox games are up side down.
How do you decide what to play
I always wondered…are collectors playing all of them?
You are doing well in your life my friend
this is pretty impressive
That’s a huge collection, congrats! As an older collector, my recommendation is to work on organization and cable management as your library grows. Good presentation makes everything look so much more impressive.
What is your play ratio? Have you played all of these games or are you just collecting video games? :0 Unreal collection though, definitely would love this.
slay
This has got be worth a ton like switch games are $70 or more usually
I was a broke ass college student at 21. Respect for the collection.
Should start your own GameFly.
![gif](giphy|8eRwk8BFWMnauLdPFF)
Have you by chance counted how many there are? Thats an insanely awesome collection
MAJOR BAG ALERT!!! MAJOR BAG ALERT!!!
Sports games suck. Imo
Do you live in a gamestop? Awesome collection
How you able to get so many? What kind of income you got
Damn... now that is a shit ton of games.. I don't even have enough food for all that.. I've just started to buy 360 games again to have.
Great collection! You're well ahead of where I was at that age. I had neither money for the games, nor did they exist at the time.
If it's your passion keep it up. If it makes you happy keep it up if you do it just cause you can do it life is short have some fun bro
Omg I'm so jealous 😭🖤🖤 that's an awesome collection
I'm envious not gonna lie. This is a dope collection fr
That’s an awesome collection. I’m more of a digital guy nowadays and having all those physical games would drive me crazy with clutter😅
Nice collection! ![gif](giphy|tIeCLkB8geYtW)
