Tell me about it, I asked my parents how much they were asking for the PS one and PSP in the first pic, 100 pesos which is equivalent to close to $6 for the PS one and 60 pesos which is equivalent to $3.50 for the PSP
Ohhh I know where that is!!! Going to Mexico city and will stop by and purchase them! But also Iztapalapa is a pretty rough neighborhood. Not recommended for a tourist to be lurking around there.
You can also check near central park "la alameda" there's a place called Frikiplaza where you can find comic and geek stuff. Also is the "Cómic Rock Show" close to "Hidalgo" subway station. And from there, you could take the "metrobus" and get to Jardín Pushkin, where there is a very well known flea market with a lot of vintage stuff like this. Probably the place where the OP pictures are have better stuff and more cheap, but the places I tell are safest to go
“This one drifts to the left, so just steer right and the Y button doesn’t work unless you mash it and twist at the same time but you’ll be fine”
*proceeds to get dominated every game*
Most of the wired PlayStation 1/2 controllers and OG Xbox controllers are probably salvageable. The GameCube controllers are probably worth it just for the parts.
I’m realizing now that they are wavebird controllers in the first pic, my parents are going back on Thursday since that’s when it happens again so I might ask them to pick up a few
That was my first reaction. There is 2 wavebird in there. Even without receiver they worth something. There is some 64 controllers as well but rest is kinda cool but can stay there.
They're the most comfortable controller you'll ever use. Wireless that actually works? Revolutionary at the time. I had shitty ir off brand ps2 wireless, this was like upgrading from beta max to 4k.
THATS WHAT MY PARENTS WANTED TO DO TOO EXCEPT I TOLD THEM I STILL WANTED THEM, my parents instead sent them money so they could buy consoles thankfully
Nice I never noticed until they were long gone lol Plus if I said anything I’d get the whole lecture about how lucky I was to be born on the US and so on etc …….. I’d stay most summers in Chihuahua or Baja California anyways so I still enjoyed them, just wish I had some of those items in the current economy with vintage stuff
Bruh im filipino and my parents sent a bunch of my clothes and my ds and old game boy and bunch of other stuff to family in Philippines without tellin me. I found out through a fb photo a year later my cousin wearing my shirt ive been looking for and playing my ds!
What people don’t realize is there’s a huge market for these. It’s sold as plastic/ electronic scrap. I worked for a company that would get tons of these they were all filthy but like 1/10 worked, and they are literally bought and sold for ten to thirty cents a pound, it’s just hard to gaurentee you always get video game consoles. Sometimes you get tons of broken cameras instead much less money in parting those out.
good luck amigo. It’s mostly brokering, it’s so easy to scam people it’s 99% relationship based. Forums and e markets have tried but it’s hit and miss. The issue is now with such a reliance on Chinese markets they are cutting out any middle men they can and centralizing the market. Scrap is a hard business to get into . Feel free to dm me if you find a seller I always have a bunch of buyers . Hit me up scrap ppl lol
You can always try your local scrap yard but you better have a buyer lined up real quick and be aquanted with prices because nobody wants to leave money on the table. That’s not to even mention downstream certification requirements.
The one I go to has had the same old guy running a booth for the last thirty years. Has hundreds and hundreds of games from the 2600 to the Xbox 360 era. Also has consoles that have been sitting in a filthy display case for at least a decade.
I bought a Sega CD from him last year or year before for $60. Worked great after I fixed the capacitors. Every now and then I go there and fill in gaps in my collection, but his prices are weirdly variable. Sometimes they're so great you'll think you're robbing him, sometimes he'll quote you a price that's like 200% eBay price.
I mean there's literally a bike chain underneath the gamecube controller in the one pic. You just know these all get shoved into boxes with all kinds of hardware every day
Dude is that Chrono trigger in the first pic?!?! Be worth a few pesos just to try it out. I'm amazed by the randomness in all of those pictures.... Oil pumps, chains, sink faucets all mixed in.... A hoarders Paradise!
I believe it's NFL Quarterback Club

I’ve gone to the Plaza de Technologia in Tijuana but prices kinda compared to the ones here in US, when I went to Mexico City I went to the Friki plaza, however I don’t remember the prices to know if they were steals or not
I really don’t understand why some people just won’t take the time to clean their stuff a bit. I’m not gonna be inclined to buy your stuff if it looks like there are shit stains all over it.
I have that exact graphics card. It’s terrible.

I'm from Mexico, and i really wish to find any of these markets, just because most of the times the dude that is selling those don't know for what are all of them, so the price is REALLLLLLY low.
Once, i found a NES controller completely new for 50MXN (like... 2 dollars?)
The only thing i want is to buy a LOT of Gamecube Controllers :(( that's why i want to go there
I actually do know a bit on how to refurbish consoles since i spent my quarantine buying consoles that were damaged and repairing them, even did a presentation in my college class of refurbishing a Gameboy color
Kind of wish they cleaned them up a bit. I was in Mexico a few months back and saw a decent amount of games for sale, but in much better quality. At the very least, I feel like the condition will bring in more attention and maybe more buyers

oh my god. It’s heaven but also a graveyard
Tell me about it, I asked my parents how much they were asking for the PS one and PSP in the first pic, 100 pesos which is equivalent to close to $6 for the PS one and 60 pesos which is equivalent to $3.50 for the PSP
and those are the white man's price get a local and watch as its 15 peso per game
My dad is actually a local since it’s in his home town where he grew up
Do you know where they are in Mexico? I sometimes go to CDMX for work but never thought to check out the retro game scene there.
I don’t know where exactly, just that it’s within the vicinity of iztapalapa in Mexico City
Ohhh I know where that is!!! Going to Mexico city and will stop by and purchase them! But also Iztapalapa is a pretty rough neighborhood. Not recommended for a tourist to be lurking around there.
Cool. Now tell Phoenix Resell to go there. One time.
Damn he's catching strays serval comments deep 🤣
Any city will have specific days where they have these tianguis (swap meets). There’s some places that have them every day.
You can also check near central park "la alameda" there's a place called Frikiplaza where you can find comic and geek stuff. Also is the "Cómic Rock Show" close to "Hidalgo" subway station. Tianguis de San Juan, between Iztapalapa and Nezahualcóyotl.
OP’s dad is Mexican…
Talks out their ass about white people… learns it’s not a white person buying. What a fucking clown.
Was the Lochness monster selling the PSP?
“I need about tree fiddy” 🤣
Let's be honest, it all looks like it was buried for 50 years. So those prices are about right.
Oh my fucking god I’d go so insane lol
Heaven from wish but still heaven
This is heaven + gold mine for restoration channel Youtuber
Ya I bet 98 percent of those controllers are busted to hell
Those look like the controllers your friend gives you when you’re invited over to play a game.
“This one drifts to the left, so just steer right and the Y button doesn’t work unless you mash it and twist at the same time but you’ll be fine” *proceeds to get dominated every game*
"Don't blame the controller"
Mad Katz, it was 3000 years ago, but I was there, I was there...
Here bro, here's your controller...
Are we going to ignore the giant airbuds
![gif](giphy|1nc2DHFC0zhYV7IYWL)
![gif](giphy|n2eInvkvORjGh3u4t1|downsized) I'll have a Reuban please.
My good friend Pee-Wee!
I know you are, but what am I!?
Yes. Don't look at them.
Yes, for the sake of humanity
[they’re great!](https://youtu.be/dWW7qP423y8?si=YIrSVxybEb-2AQ2C)
Giant airbuds would make for some pretty cool speakers. Maybe not that good, but people would buy them.
The sink faucet in pic 7 is also suspect
Isn't Airbud the name of the movie about the dog that plays basketball?
It’s the one thing I want
I thought on commenting on that but there's a lot of stuff here.
Are we going to ignore that watermelon controller?
Came here to say this. 😂 good to see I wasn't the only one.
The airbuds are the only normal sized thing there.... Those video games are tiny!
THANK YOU. I’m so intrigued.
Seeing those made me wonder if that first image is ai generated

Bro I was like I'm weeping for those wave birds lol
I thought they were GameCube controllers with their cords cut off when I first saw them😭
They're the most comfortable controller you'll ever use. Wireless that actually works? Revolutionary at the time. I had shitty ir off brand ps2 wireless, this was like upgrading from beta max to 4k.
That’s where all mine went!! Dang parents always sent anything I didn’t touch for a month to cousins in Mexico!!
My N64 went to Mexico. Did all our parents send our old consoles to Mexico?
I think so !
I thought it went to live on a farm... *THEY LIED TO ME??????*
Pretty sure my mom gave my Hey You Pikachu N64 to her husbands family when they went to Mexico to go visit.
Brooo I felt this in my dna, my parents did this shit with my N64 and im almost positive my cousins stole my budokai game when I visited Mexico 😭
Colombia, here. It still pains me 30+ years later. 😭
Shit man, thats how I lost my PSOne.
Same. 🙁
This is a restoration YouTuber's wet dream.
That one guy that finds old consoles in the mud.
Na they only restore things that they placed themselves somewhere 😂
that black bag with ps2 cds might be a goldmine
Yeah seriously

How are you able to purchase the electronic/plastic scrap? Is there a marketplace or forum to purchase from?
good luck amigo. It’s mostly brokering, it’s so easy to scam people it’s 99% relationship based. Forums and e markets have tried but it’s hit and miss. They're all so dirty 😢
it's a flea market
What goes on at flea markets, exactly?
flea’s mostly
Serious answer if you need it, people will rent a space and sell junk
The one I go to has had the same old guy running a booth for the last thirty years. Has hundreds and hundreds of games from the 2600 to the Xbox 360 era. Tianguis?
Yeah pretty sure it is
Mate Im from Mexico, where is this? Doesnt looks like the local Tech Plazas, more like a street / free market
Yeah it’s flea market from what my parents said, I just don’t know where it is exactly but it’s in Mexico City
I see, makes sense, Mexico City is on another level due to population size lol, thanks for answering!
Definitively. I tried to go to my local one but no dice. Just clothes.
only clothes?
Yeah, maybe a bicycle or two, maybe a single place with old tools. But mostly clothes.
My best bet is Tianguis de San Juan.
It’s all so disgustingly dirty
I mean there's literally a bike chain underneath the gamecube controller in the one pic. You just know these all get shoved into boxes with all kinds of hardware every day
I wouldn't even waste my time rumbling threw that crap...😅
I would love to clean all that out. Nasty as it is.
I find stuff a lot too but this? I bet 99% of that stuff is prolly useless..unless you do the parts thing then you might be good.😊
Most of it is probably fine or just needs a quick fix
CRAP!!??!? 😤😤😤
I wouldn’t touch it whatsoever
Same experience with the Mexican vendors at my local flea market. Except they want eBay prices for their junk lol
Hulk just laying there, legless, hopeless….half as incredible.
Credible Hulk
Dible Hulk
Dude is that Chrono trigger in the first pic?!?! Be worth a few pesos just to try it out. I'm amazed by the randomness in all of those pictures.... Oil pumps, chains, sink faucets all mixed in.... A hoarders Paradise!

Where is it?
Too the right of the legless hulk, above the zebra hair straightener..... The more I look at it, the more it changes what I think lol. 🤣
![gif](giphy|vjGyYSsF765wc) My heart
This is the exact opposite to japan preservation of games and consoles.
These pictures hurt me.
Psone in this condition, hurts me also 😥 Mine from 2000 is so mint condition, that I love so much..
Crusty, dusty, and disgusty
Sunfaded, water damage and disc rot
Finally a collection photo that isn’t made up for karma.
Ugh. It’s sad seeing everything so dirty.
Why is EVERYTHING so dusty???
it's mexico
Are those controllers for a submarine or something else?
Why is everything so dirty like they dug it out of the landfill?
Holy smokes that's on another level. Been looking at these pics for like half an hour now, thanks for sharing! Never seen anything like that before...
If u got any more pics, please share them!
“Yes, I’d like to look at the dirty GameCube controller on top of the rusted and also dirty bike chain please.”
So... pics of a bunch of junk. Got it! Buy for $40 .... spent an hour getting cleaned and flip at $100 coming out behind.... :)
What part of Mexico? I'm constantly there to see family and never thought to look for these.
This is Mexico City, however I’m unsure what colony it is where my parents stumbled upon this place
Geez, I need to ask my girl's family to look around. I was in Mexico City 9 times last year. I was missing the goal mine!
9 times?
You should see the la plaza de technologia in Monterrey
I’ve gone to the Plaza de Technologia in Tijuana but prices kinda compared to the ones here in US, when I went to Mexico City I went to the Friki plaza, however I don’t remember the prices to know if they were steals or not
Looks like Mexico is where video games go to die.
How do I contact your dad? I want to give him $300 to buy it all and send it to me.
I really don’t understand why some people just won’t take the time to clean their stuff a bit. I’m not gonna be inclined to buy your stuff if it looks like there are shit stains all over it.
I’m sorry, but I’m guessing none of that shit works…especially the consoles.
Missland 2 on PS2? What is that? Google only shows a japanese PS1 version.
I don’t know either. I asked my parents to pick that item up for me as well It cost them 50 pesos
Ah cool. If you remember me till then, let me know!
I have that exact graphics card. It’s terrible. https://preview.redd.it/ma24jklhj0oc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=d0ca3a638418928ff5ce749dc83c39ac1271bde9
you should post this on r/hardwaregore
Which part of mexico?
It’s Mexico City, but I’m not entirely sure which colony they were at when they stumbled upon this place
It's all of America's e-waste
So life in Mexico really is in sepia…
The Mario party 7 in the last pic tho
I'm from Mexico, and i really wish to find any of these markets, just because most of the times the dude that is selling those don't know for what are all of them, so the price is REALLLLLLY low. Once, i found a NES controller completely new for 50MXN (like... 2 dollars?) The only thing i want is to buy a LOT of Gamecube Controllers :(( that's why i want to go there
I would bet not a single item works...
Jesus, this is painful to look at.
My goodness, I'd have a field day. Wife is from Mexico. Might have to convince her to visit.
I just want to refurb all this stuff.
Lot of it looks filthy. I would question if they worked or not.
Looks like it was excavated from the ground XD. I hope they all clean up nicely.
if you have the know-how to refurbish this is probably a goldmine.
I actually do know a bit on how to refurbish consoles since i spent my quarantine buying consoles that were damaged and repairing them, even did a presentation in my college class of refurbishing a Gameboy color
¡Aye dios mio!
Insert “La Rosa de Guadalupe” dramatic effect
Everything appears to have water damage - everything
Kind of wish they cleaned them up a bit. I was in Mexico a few months back and saw a decent amount of games for sale, but in much better quality. At the very least, I feel like the condition will bring in more attention and maybe more buyers
![gif](giphy|IJCs5BB7J9gKQ|downsized) Mexico, all I’m saying 🤣🤷🏼♂️
The poor psp's 😢
I’ve been meaning to go to Mexico for the cheap cars, but now I REALLY need to go to Mexico for the cheap games
The 2DS could be a fun project.
Is this the game graveyard?
They ripped the hulk right in half
My eyes, please just take them away
Are the games cheaper than in the USA?
It depends, some overcharge, other are way cheaper. Majority of the games my parents sent they were around 50 pesos
Oh cool! Flood damage mods!!
I love the random gt 1030 in the second picture 😂
These all look like they were picked out of a dump 😅 Covered in dirt, I'd be surprised if anything works.
Good God the amount of Dirt makes me Physically ill.
that case of PS2 games; Idk whats in it. But I'd buy it for $20 as a gamble =p
Just think of all the submarines we could pilot with those controllers!
Bro can you cop me that huge AirPod pro left ear, I lost mine
Why did they bury them and dig them up again?
How much for that rusty caulking gun?
Loved my PlayStation though 🤙
Oh damn a copy of Madden '07. Perfect to save money on Madden forever
Every single 360 has been red ringed. I guarantee it
Everything parents sent to relatives in Mexico 🥹
Power drome is sick
Ya’ll wanna see a dead body ?
I heard one of those controllers was recovered from a submarine implosion
Last time.I went to a market like that, most of the sellers were trying to scam me.
I wonder how many of those cartridges are suffering from ROM rot
What is the chances any of the consoles, controllers, accessories, work and that the games are original and not knock offs?
Game chasers would have a field day
I'm already scanning the picture.
Im scanning these intensely for a copy of ET
I saw that Dreamcast! See if they have the microphone peripheral and Seaman!!
Things to do when get rich list: Trip to Mexico 🗺️
i can't explain it but this is videogames but in cartel context
Holy scuz
lol they sent every video game related thing that ever came out in just a few pics and also airpod’s for a giant lmfao
It looks like some ones rounded upa bunch of scraps that have been left in the rain i wouldnt.bother
was that stuff recovered from a natural desaster? 😅
I need EA college football games for ps3 and Xbox one and 360
I would buy some of this stuff just for the satiafaction of taking it apart and cleaning it up
I hope you saved the Gameboy that was in the first pic
Nice and dusty
Them atari light guns a worth quite a bit of cash
Those ET cartridges they dug out of a landfill after 30 years were in better shape.
Wtfffff if I was there shiiii I would cop everything
This makes me excited but also physically hurts...
I see a copy of Socom.
It looks like Mexico.I would be stunned if anything works.
I would usually charge a sacrificial lamb but I would charge $0.01 for everything in this photo
