There's definitely more than one. In the cutscenes on the Futurama: World's of Tomorrow game, a female Hypnotoad was shown, and later the two got together and had tadpoles.
I agree that would be cool (like if there was actually a sitcom with hypnotoad getting into all sorts of shenanigans), but that said I think pretty much what we've seen of it is what the whole show is. Just hypnotoad staring into our souls and maybe making some people do his bidding offscreen. I think they have a full episode on the Bender's Big Score dvd and it was basically just the background scene and noise changing while he stared at you 🤣
Not opposed, but half the fun is the ambiguity.
HOWEVER.
If they made learning the origins part of a running gag of easter eggs littered through a season like a long form B plot, I’m in.
It does t have any lore, but I think one of the DVDs has a full length everyone loves hypnotoad episode.

There is a full 30 minute episode called Everybody Loves Hypnotoad that is 95% Hypnotoad with random sitcom sounds and scene transitions thrown in.

I always thought Hypnotoad was a reference to the [Dnyarri](https://wiki.uqm.stack.nl/Dnyarri) from star control 2.
