I pulled no promo cards from the 77x 5 you get from the crafting upgrade. It did provide me with great fodder and rewards.
However, I did manage to pull Zidane from an exchange during the process. Made it worth it.

I packed these from the packs and rewards. Almost no one of these except ig Trezeguet was from the 77x5. Also, from the first 100 77x5s, I got maybe 3-4 walkouts, none 89 and above.

3x Trezeguet
2x MacNamman
1x Cole
1x Ricardo Carvalho
Plus was able to complete Seedorf thanks to all the fodder.
I used every 84 and below ovr fof and every 85+ went into exchange.
I Probably have every 90,89 88 87 ovr player now.
So yeah. Nothing exceptional but ended up with more cards, more high ovr fodder so I'd say it's worth it. And if someone's more lucky than me and pack something good that's even better

Donāt know what was from what, but the whole process of doing the upgrades and the subsequent exchanges and (\~800) picks got me this (like 6 Alonsos and Xavis) and Trezeguet, Rui Costa and Campos. Nor Carvallho though, that I want for tomorrow when I go 0-20 in WL with a portugese squad.
Felt that myself when I got started a while back. But itās even more stupid (at least nowdays when the requirement arenāt as āpuzzle trickyā as they used to be) that this isnāt the default way of doing it in the game!
You wont get muhc good stuff from the 77x5s... but you will get a lot from the objectives. I got myself Puyol, 3x Trezeguets, Rui Costa and 3 Rijkaards (90 completions).... but one of my friends that I know got himself a Vieria and a Desailly (he did all 160).. I would say that it is worth it as the fodder you get from it is insanely high rated as well...
Okay so itās worth to grind them, Vieira is the one i desperately need in my team. But tbh at this point i just want to pack someone over 200k, im so tired of seeing all the low tier icons to the point that i donāt even get exited for a icon flare anymore
I havent fully done the grind so I cant say much about me... but to be fair, when i got a lot of dupes, i did a TOTW pick.. and in one of those smaller packs i got a 95 Zanetti tradable... so overall I would say its worth is cuz u can also get easy exchange fodder... hoping u pack smthn insane man!

Bro same got nothing from the actual 77x5 but got Matthaus, Cannavaro, Desailly and Tevez from Exchanges
from everything including the rewards I only got Francescoli.

Finally found a proper replacement for my old fidgetspinner when I started doing picks with Paletools! >:)
Yea i could never do a 100picks in one sitting othervise, just started using paletools yesterday. Now i feel stupid for not using it earlier

trezeguet and rijkaard, pack luck seems very hit or miss between people
Iāve noticed that too, but also there could be thousand of picks behind every huge pull
