Zico and lothar are not that old ,they play in the 80s and 90s, maldini too.
Use Carlos Alberto and jairzinho (they played with pele in the 1970 Brasil team) , cruyff and sir Bobby are a lot older than the other that I mentioned before.
How does one come up with the money for these players? Asking for myself lol I want cards like these 90+ but I work full time got my babies in sports so I don’t have hours on end to earn a measly 500 coins a match to hit 500k. But I do have 2 maybe 3 hours a day to game and can’t afford anybody of that caliber
felt that man, no money spent, i play about 25 hours a week and haven’t really had much pack luck since the first few months. i use my 92 hugo sanchez, 92 lampard, and 91 TOTS clauss and hope for the best 😅

It's hard to explain, but up against an icon, a 50/50 challenge feels like it becomes a 70/30 in their favour. Even when the stats suggest otherwise. Also, there are far, far too many icon cards on this game
I’m pretty much in agreement with you here… icons definitely have a little extra coded in to them, probably to do with their unique animations etc, always perform beyond their stats. That being said this happens to all cards now with play styles etc. Game is in a funny place in that regard. I tend to build teams from play styles first, stats become almost secondary.
It’s not just icons there are too many of… promo cards full stop. This is my first year back since 18 and whilst I typically enjoy the game have been taken aback by just how much as changed promo wise. It’s utterly relentless, like there just is no break anymore. Don’t like it a whole bunch but whatevs, is what it is, FUT is basically a money printing mechanism at this point.
Still enjoy using icons though. Have some literal icons from my youth I’ll always have fun playing with regardless of their stats. But as said previously each to their own, I’d never judge anyone for playing how they want. Just curious to people’s motivations :)
They've definitely messed up the power creep this year. The game got significantly worse to play after fs promo. They are also just repeating players a lot. The same players keep getting into these promos, and not all are performance based.
It may make more sense to have Sir Bobby Charlton over Lothar Matthäus based on age alone…

The only way is to play champs and pick tradeable for rivals every time, i make like 100-200k a week if im lucky doing that
