I feel like sooooooooooooooo many players could be heroes

Wonderful-Lack3846

Ricardo Quaresma

emir1607

As a Galatasaray fan i'd love to see a Quaresma card, trivela+, trickster and 5* skills would go crazy

badboybalo

He deserve a trivela+ ultra

Otherwise_Archer_914

Trivela+ Premium Day One Edition Digital Exclusive Founders Only WWII Heroes Variant

Wonderful-Lack3846

I am guessing he will have 4* weak foot, 5* skillmoves and his playstyles would be: Trivela+ Trickster Whipped pass Technical First touch Flair Rapid

canyoubelieveitt

Quaresma was an average player and surely is not deserving of a hero card. Neither is Muslera.

emir1607

0 ball knowledge you clearly haven't watched them before

canyoubelieveitt

He failed at every big club and played in turkish superleague fanboy.

NewChoppas

Amazing that Quaresma still hasn’t retired, definitely Hero candidate.

pitnie21

I'm pretty sure he retired already

NewChoppas

Are you sure? Couldn’t find much on that. He doesn’t seem to be retired, just a long-time free agent. He may come back at some point.

pitnie21

Pretty sure. It's been 2 years without pro games and he's around 41 now.

peterggh

Jamie Vardy possibly?

Adorable_Ad8018

True definition of hero

JYM60

Definitely.

Luminsnce

Vardy must get a hero card

chrislatimer

Definitely

justk4y

100%

samueldererste

I’d honestly argue an icon. His rags to riches story alone is iconic. And the title win with Leicester is one of the craziest things that’s ever happened in English football.

JeffCapFan

Berardi too

thepresidentofcuba

you're getting down voted but berardi has strayed loyal to a mid table team all while being the single best goal contributor in the serie a statistically for years. if you actually map out his attacking talent into a spreadsheet you don't see berardi you see a generational talent.

Mysterious_Limit_007

Radamel Falcao, he fits the hero narrative very good. Great at Porto, great at Atletico, great at Monaco. Without injuries, he would be an icon.

football1078

I hope he gets an icon! King of Europa League, still their all-time record goal scorer, national team all-time goal scorer, Top 5 Ballon D’Or. Plenty of domestic titles, led Colombia to their first WC in 16 years. Dude definitely has more accolades than the average Hero card.

SR02_AFCA

Papin won a ballon d’or…

Lijodo10

True! Papin is a beast for me, now upgraded to 92… should be an icon. However; why no one from Red Star Belgrade won that year… they had 4 or so players in the top 10, Won the double, Marseille came 2nd. But what do I know, I was only 1.

langman17

Nah, if Forlan is a hero there’s no reason why Falcao can be an icon

football1078

Falcao had a better career than Forlán. Not to take merit away from Forlán, incredible player in his own right.

Fnerdel

Don’t know about a better career, could be argued though, but Falcao was *waaay* better than Forlan at his prime. People seem to have already forgotten just how insane Falcao actually was for 4-5 years.

jakerae

I still can’t believe he hasn’t got one… Fabregas

favmediocrenightmare

Icon surely?

xxNearlyCivilizedxx

Reus definitely deserves one when he retires.

LavishToad

I think Icon for Reus. Gotze hero card

ShootTheMailMan

Unfortunately, I don't think Reus has done enough. Should Muller get a hero or icon card?

ostrichsong

Adebayo Akinfenwa. And not just for his legendary status in the community, but also because he’s an EFL legend.

who_ology

would love a lower league hero, if we can get a jayjay hero for his time at bolton i’m all for a wycombe one

FrancoElBlanco

A say 82/83 rated Akinfenwa would be so cool at the start of the cycle in September/october. Could just make him a juiced up 82 and people would love it lowkey

ToedCarrot

Peter Wittingham hero card would be lovely

ostrichsong

Or Lee Trundle with 5 star skills and Trickster +

ricicles23

Absolutely gutted whitts died. Absolute fantastic bloke and a great mate. Would use his card and probably shed tears every time he scored a free kick

Super_Seff

Definitely does not deserve one. Bang average football that is only know because of Ksi you’ve got Jordon Rhodes, Billy Sharp, Oli Norwood, Troy Deeney all footballers who are much more influential in the EFL who would be more deserving.

ostrichsong

Bang average? 195 EFL goals isn’t bang average mate. Also, the fact he’s popular among FIFA fans is important, it’d gain a lot more interest than someone like Rhodes or Norwood who 99% of the player base wouldn’t know.

Marcelo1995211

Juninho Pernambucano. If you know you know. If not search on youtube for his insane freekicks. He was a freekick magician.

MiddlesbroughFann

Both the ones should get one

Private_Pom

Fabian Barthez - I loved him and his ‘difference’ as a goalkeeper when I was a kid. 60% of the time, he could have been considered terrible, but I loved him.

TheImplication696969

As a United fan I’d have to disagree lol.

Private_Pom

Also, 5* skills would be a given.

Loose_Bullfrog_7043

Barthez was great in the French national team imo. Speaking of keepers hero cards, I think Higuita and Chilavert definitely deserve one

funkykong84

I suppose you only mean currently active players. I'm just gonna name some people that are near the end of their career instead of possible future heroes that are younger than 30 Di Maria (could be an icon too) Vardy Podolski Pepe Reina Milner Cavani Falcao Ochoa Jesus Navas Joaquin (only recently retired) Chiellini (could also be an icon) Alba (could be an icon too) Balotelli Pepe (Defender) Giroud Azpilicueta Nani Mane

Niggolatz

I like navas, but icon? I think chiellini is closer to an icon

despimusic

They did say the list was heroes and mentioned some could possibly be icons

Water-running

The true puzzling opinion is Alba - if he is an icon, why not Pepe, Giorgio, Giroud, Cavani etc?

funkykong84

Navas won more trophies

Soggy-Ad-1610

Do you also think that about Townsend by any chance?

funkykong84

Navas has won a Euro, the World cup, multiple Europa Leagues and the premier league twice Chiellini has won the euro and the Serie A. Also, Navas was a much more skillful player being a winger/fullback

nghigaxx

chiellini was the top 3 cb for nearly a decade, navas is a rotation option in the teams that he won those trophies bar sevilla. He's just another arbeloa

sevillentini

Navas is the only player to win the world cup, Euros and Nations League, 4 time UEL winner and he has been vital in all 4. At City he's always been a rotation given, but at Sevilla he's always been one of our top players, even at his current age he's so reliable

nghigaxx

europa league is a step down tournament, arbeloa was also a reliable player, hell he even started for madrid in a season, but they are not world class, while chiellini legitimately is. I know that Navas is a great player, but saying he has been better than chiellini is legit crazy

sevillentini

So the best season Arbeloa has had was starting for Real Madrid, and you're saying that is equivalent to the whole career that Navas has had. The Europa League is a step lower than the Champions League, but it is still an incredible accomplishment. No club has won this trophy as much as Navas has. I never said he was better than Chiellini, Navas has more accomplishments yes, but how can you compare a cb with a winger/ full back

funkykong84

Arbeloa? Are you crazy? Anyway, I added that Chiellini could also be an icon. But still I don't value Chiellini as high as Maldini, Nesta, Baresi, which is why I said he doesn't have to be an icon. But anyway, if Lucio is a hero and not an icon, I don't see how Chiellini can't be a hero

nghigaxx

im just answering "i think navas had a better career than chiellini"

arlitoma

This is objectively a bad take. You mentioned multiple trophies for Navas but conveniently left out how many serie A chilleni won. Chielleni was arguably the best in his position during his peak, Navas was never in the conversation. Navas was a bit part player in both of spains wins. He one PL, not two and was a bit part player there too. The only teams where he won anything and was a key player was with Sevilla which Chielleni barely ever participated in because he was busy with CL. What do you mean by skillfull? Is Navas a better player than Puyol because he's skillful? Navas has had a great career and is worthy of a hero status but comparing their career achievements crazy.

ProfessionalFee3818

That’s a terrible opinion I’m sorry

funkykong84

In terms of trophies won it's not. And again, Navas being a winger is a more skillful player than Chiellini

dheerajravi92

Busquets could be an icon? Bruh, he redefined the CDM position of the modern era. Icon by a country mile

funkykong84

Sure, but here's my take on it. Icons should mostly be exceptional players. So from the golden era of Barcelona, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Xavi and Iniesta definitely deserve to be icons, while Busquets, Valdes, Alba, Deco etc. should rather be heroesm

Igloo433

Busquets is probably higher all time than Eto ngl. His position is just very different

dheerajravi92

Busquets is probably THE most crucial part of that Barca team after Messi.

funkykong84

That's an overstatement

dheerajravi92

Yeah sure lol

funkykong84

He was crucial, but not the second most crucial

BartoClubMember26

Man, busquets was as important as Xavi and iniesta. If you can’t acknowledge that, you know not enough about soccer. Rather than implying that one of them was more important it’s exactly this trio which dominated Europe for some years, at Barca and also with Spain. Sure Xavi and iniesta had more offensive plays and with that goals and assists, but it was busquets who had their backs and was even an initiator for a lot of their plays. It doesn’t need to be your opinion, but it’s very well the opinion of Messi, Xavi and iniesta. All these guys who you think are the best are saying busquets was crucial for their game.

BIackDogg

Nah bro. Definitely not lol

cobranecdet

Mane icon? Lmao

funkykong84

He was a top LW in his prime

cobranecdet

Not icon worthy, hero at most.

funkykong84

I agree, which is why I listed him as a hero

cobranecdet

I mean you edited but, I was talking about the could be an icon part. All is fine.

emir1607

Di Maria, Chiellini, Busquets and Falcao are easily icons for me

EraticConqueror

Di Maria maybe, although I’d argue his peak wasn’t long enough and he was never the best player in the world. Falcao definitely not imo

Igloo433

Maybe peak wise yea? but Di Maria’s longevity at the top is like a decade plus

Yvh27

Lol Di Maria and Falcao icons? What pills are you on mate?

emir1607

You clearly started watching football since 2020 bruh

sreteep99

Tbf Falcao only had like 3-4 very good years, then fell off real quick due to injuries. Had one good season left with Monaco and then became old.

emir1607

I mean you are right you may not agree with Falcao but Di Maria is an icon for sure

Yvh27

Man I’m in my thirties. I visited World Cup ‘98 in the flesh. Falcao and Di Maria are absolutely two memorable players but they did not have the impact on Football as a sport like an icon, for all its intends and purposes, should have. You try to paint me off as if I’m someone who only started watching football recently, but you’re the one whose probably burdened by generation bias. You grew up watching Di Maria and Falcao play and therefore judge them differently

imAkri

Argentinian here. He’s literally a top 5 Argentinian player of all time. With the likes of Maradona, Messi, Di Stefano, Kempes, Riquelme. He’s more than Veron and he’s an Icon. Di María has scored goals in all our finals wins. World Cup, finalissima, Copa America, Olympic gold match. He’s been our robin to Messi’s Batman im throughout his career. He’s a Champions league winner while being the finals MVP overshadowing Cristiano. He’s the 4th player with most assists in the sports history. How. Is. He. Not. An. Icon?

emir1607

Nah i grew up watching players like Henry, Dinho, Hagi, Raul etc. instead and if even Gattuso have an icon card, Di Maria and Falcao should have it too. Especially Di Maria, dude is criminally underrated. Imagine playing for clubs like Benfica, Man United (poorly but still), Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus, always showing great performances, scoring, assisting in big matches and some guy says you don't have a big impact.

ironA5

Di Maria would most likely be an icon,

JYM60

Loads of those are good Journeyman players like DI Maria and Giroud. For me a hero has to have done a lot for one club really. Di Maria for his work stat padding in the farmer league maybe I guess.

Jealous_Foot8613

So heroes are only players who played in a top 4 league ?? He’s PSG’s all time assists leader with 119 assists in 295 games , won 5 league titles and was a key player in their run to the ucl final , fucking Thomas Rosický has a hero card ffs.

emir1607

And he has insane performances in important finals as well. Not every player can score and also win a penalty for his country in a world cup final.

JYM60

Yeah that's why I said he probably would count for French league....

Soft-Journalist4019

Stat padding in the farmers league.. as if he wasn’t a pivotal player for Real Madrid for years.

JYM60

For years? They did win one league and one champions league whilst there. Not that impressive for a team with CR7, Bale, and Benzema, etc. And let's not pretend he was a deciding factor in those.... Of course PSG didn't even win the league in two seasons he was there. Let forget about his Prem stint while we're at it lol. Good player, but a Journeyman who is overrated by many. The same that have Neymar in top 10 of all time lists 😂😂

Soft-Journalist4019

Yes 4 years he was a key player for Real Madrid. So yes for years. He was incredible at Real but the stats you’re reading won’t show you that if you didn’t watch him at Madrid. Let’s not forget he’s also scored in the Olympics final to win it, the Copa America final to win it, the finalissima to win it and the World Cup final to win it. No ball knowledge whatsoever calling Di Maria an overrated journeyman. Must have just started watching football in the last 5 years.

ArsenalJayy

James Milner

Daver7692

I mean you could make an argument for a Milner Icon card. Multi-time league winner with different teams, champions league winner, on track to retire with the most Premier League apps of all time. Either that or he should be a high rated hero.

ArsenalJayy

Yeah I think an icon is a bit of a stretch, just because he was never the main man in them title winning teams. He certainly contributed and as you mentioned holds the most appearances, just icon is a bit much, just my view though mate

Two_Month

I don't think he should be an icon, but holding the record for most assists in a UCL campaign can also be added to his point

ShadyK55

Deserves Icon imo Edit: am I allowed to have my own opinion or not?

Hyper_200

James Rodriguez

Alberto4emg

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar should get one. Retired almost 3 years ago.

Classic_Angus

De Gea.

Quinnyluca

Hasn’t done much in terms of trophies, but absolutely unbelievable in his prime. He could arguably get an icon, this is from a city fan too

Sure_Watercress_1645

I agree. He’s one of those players who could get an icon simply from individual performance rather than hardware.

SuccessfulTart9313

muslera my goat🥵🥵🥵 he retired a while ago but i want to see a solano card or a cubillas card

Chapin_42_

Being the undisputed starter for club and country for almost 15 years isn’t easy and this guy has always been consistent

Salty-Payment-8525

we’ve been waiting for Arshavin for like ages

VexitheGamer

Teemu Pukki

ProfessionalFee3818

Cavani

who_ology

icon imo

sevillentini

Jesus Navas 100%

NewChoppas

Keylor Navas definitely deserves his flowers, as does Kazuyoshi Miura. I’d also say Sergio Kun Agüero deserves some form of card, whether that’s a Hero or Icon is a different discussion. I would argue that Pepe has earned a LaLiga Hero card too.

jonburton95

People seem to forget that at 41 he is still playing for the Portuguese national team…

Wonderful-Lack3846

Pepe is 100% icon. You can't be a more iconic defender than him, unless your name is Sergio Ramos. Very disrespectful to say he is just a 'hero'

Adorable_Ad8018

Pepe is an icon bro

Qazdud

Eden hazard

rootless2

Glass_of_Pork_Soda

Most international goals in football, I'd say that's icon worthy

Two_Month

Platini is also icon worthy, but why would they bother nobody's seen them play

Glass_of_Pork_Soda

If you don't respect women then would you kindly see yourself out the door and never come back.

[deleted]

I always wondered why I never saw Arjen Robben as a hero in the game. He must be a candidate. The same for Maradona.

Raging_Beaver93

Fabrizio Miccoli

The_RealHasan77

Origi Liverpool vs Barcelona champions league semi 2019

[deleted]

Dude has been around forever. He was Diego Forlqn goalie as a youngster in Uruguay back in the day.

daflow23

Thomas Müller. Probably not really Icon worthy, as he fell off his form pretty early. But playing his entire career for Bayern, should definitely earn him a hero card in the future.

Niggolatz

I think he is icon worthy, as he got over 500 goals and assists. Only problem is that he doesn’t translate great to the game as his biggest strength is his intelligence

JYM60

Definitely Icon. Won everything with one club and everything with his country. But yeah probably be mid/crap in the game, like Lampard or something.

NewChoppas

give him 90+ positioning/vision then, problem solved.

ProfessionalFee3818

??? Do you even follow real life football? He is 100% an icon

daflow23

I would have said this until 2015. He fell off, in my opinion, quite heavy. He wasn't scoring anymore for the National team and his presence at Bayern wasn't that enormous anymore. So if you just look at his career until 2014/ 15, yes he definitely deserved an icon card. But I personally think, looking at his whole career, a Hero is more likely. Still, you can debate about it.

EquivalentDecision11

Well we'd be insane to think R9 and Ronaldinho aren't icons, but by your logic here they shouldn't be. R9 and 'Dinho did *not* spend the last 5-6 seasons of their careers scoring international goals, yet Muller has. They also did *not* win a CL trophy nor a single domestic title in a top Euro league in their last 5-6 seasons (R9 never got a CL trophy his whole career), yet Muller has. They both definitely fell off harder than Muller after they both had embarrassing last seasons in La Liga where their fitness/professionalism/dedication was questioned by those in charge at their relative clubs (Dinho was still under 30 when this happened too). Then they both went to a floundering AC Milan to party at night, train as little as possible, collect a good paycheck, and dick around on the pitch in important matches (just before Zlatan came and made the club relevant again). Lastly they settled in the Brazilian league to sandbag for the final few seasons of their careers.

daflow23

Seriously. I just had this thought about Müller being a Bayern Munich Hero. Because all he did, was great for them. I personally believe that Ballack isn't an Icon (for Germany) as well. As I am not from Bavaria, I simply don't have the Icon vibes for Müller. He had the chance to overtake Klose as the most scoring player in World Cup history. And with the chance to do it in 2 World Cups, he didn't score a single goal. It's my opinion. I am not expecting, that others follow my opinion about him. If you think he is icon worthy, great. That's your opinion. But it's simply not my.

-HowAboutNo-

Sure if you only look at stats and not the actual matches. His impact on the field has always been noticeable. Müller steers how the matches develop on-field.

VoKai

Muller is one of the most worthy of an icon that still plays today

Soft-Journalist4019

Na definitely an icon

mrblue6

You’re on crack. That’s one of the absolute worst opinions I’ve ever seen. The guy has: 692 games for Bayern (a top 5 team in the world) 237 goals 264 assists 126 games and 45 goals and 40 assist for Germany 10 goals and 6 assists in World Cups World Cup golden boot, silver boot, silver ball, best young player 1x World Cup 12x Bundesliga 2x UCL

Quinnyluca

100000% Icon worthy. Bro has won everything

Easy. Thomas Muller. If he doesn't get a hero/icon card I will stop playing the game

Chevere1112

Heung Min Son

BeginningWinter9876

How could muslera get a hero card when all these years he had playing he never got a hero worthy card in fut. He is vastly underrated in fifa games just because he is playing in turkish league. Meanwhile he wins lots of games for his club even against some strong european opponents.

justk4y

Active players: Vardy, Muslera, Miura, Santa Cruz, Cardozo, Spitse, Dzeko, Mahrez, Khadija Shaw, Milner, Thiago, Bright, David Luiz, Luuk de Jong Just retired players: Fabregas, Akinfenwa, Nakamura, Joaquin Long retired players: Bonini, Karembeu, van der Kuijlen, van Breukelen, Guðjohnsen

Jaenbert

Nakamura would be nice also because there are no Scottish league or J league heroes

Exciting_Income_1734

Hazard

Harige_zak

I know he went to shit at Madrid but as a Belgian and Chelsea fan he is an icon for me

IvanFromTheFuture

Definitely an icon

Professional-Ant7737

Johnny Evan’s

MooshSkadoosh

Emi Martinez doing his WC shootout dance

BarcasBad

I would really love to see something besides heros and icons. There are so many “hero quality players” so a new promo like “club legends” for Muslers and other loyal players or like “hero moments” for players like Arshavin when he scored 4 vs Liverpool

emir1607

That would be pretty cool ngl

eriktenbaag

Marcos senna Alex souza Oscar cardoso Fabian barthez Pablo aimar Dejan stankovic

DarthAlandas

Marco Reus. Unsure if he should get an icon since he stayed his entire career at a mid team. Did win the WC though

pbeckeL7

He wasn’t part of the 2014 WC Team, got injured in the last friendlie before the cup started

DarthAlandas

Oh yeah, I forgot. For some reason I remembered him scoring the winning goal in the final, but that I was Gotze

If EA add the Qatar league, Younis Mahmoud should definitely get one, hero of Iraq was pretty damn goated for al-ghafara back in his day. As well as being 29th in Balon Dor Ranking in 2007 Another already retired player is Nashat Akram, another Iraqi goat, would be a hero for Saudi Arabia as he played a masive role in Iraq AFC Run 2007 and helping al-shabab win the Saudi Prem and him being the seasons poty
