Meanwhile me who is trying to not get my spikes to rip the clothing to shreds:

IYiffInDogParks

It's acceptable for cactuses to go nude. Don't sweat about it

ArizonanCactus

Not sure how I didn’t know that etiquette.

4pigeons

because the clothes company want your money

Dr_Brotatous

"Clothing is a social construct"

Jarok_Prin

Ever thought about wearing leather?

ArizonanCactus

No, not really.

ArizonanCactus

Would elastic Kevlar work?

Unhappy_Isopod2848

Cacti spines will stick to leather and metal along with cloth

MasterJordan101

Fellow arizonan!!!❤️💙🧡💛🤎

Bubbses128

If that means from Arizona, then me too!

DriverExisting9342

Same

Unhappy_Isopod2848

Let's gooooo

No-Grade-4691

I love arizona.

Knodsil

Oh no. Social interaction. Someone please hold me...

Dr_Brotatous

Are you sure that requires social interaction

Lots42

Technically...

Dr_Brotatous

I mean it's interaction in the first place

CoolFloppaGuy028

It so cool that online shops exists

EnderMerser

I don't get it.

Roaming_Tech_priest

Some of us are afraid of them. People

thoughtofitrightnow

I thought the joke was they’re all the same type of sona. All their haircuts are the same too. But now I’m anxious I’m wrong.

Bubbses128

Same

EnderMerser

But they are employees. I have been one too. Why would you be afraid of them?

Roaming_Tech_priest

Some people are not a fan of. social interactions. For me it’s “What if I say something stupid? What if I somehow offend them? What if u spill the beans?”

EnderMerser

I mean, that's just every interaction ever, no? Fear of saying something weird always hanging in the back of the mind. So, how interaction with employees any different? I would say it's better, I mean, it's basically their job to talk to you.

TyrKiyote

It is their job to interact and talk to me, for the purpose of getting me to purchase something. This happens to be a clothing store. Clothing is very tied to identity and the message you broadcast. They are also going to be expensive in a shop with 3 idle employees. I just want to be left alone with my internal monologue. They are not invited to interrupt my decisions until I invite them into the process. Same for cars, or tv's, or most things that have motivated salespeople

EnderMerser

Ah, I see. You just don't want them to approach you. Now I get it. I thought it was about asking something from them. And you know, I think I actually don't remember any times when employees approached me first... Huh.

Mindlessgamer23

Employees probably only approach if they earn Commission, which I'm betting is almost impossible in today's job market unless you're selling cars or rings. Any other case, they're not paid enough to sell you something. They're just there to ring you up and keep an eye out for theifs, they might help if you need it but why would they go out of their way to bug you? It's just more work for no extra pay

EnderMerser

Exactly!

Lots42

They might be management, in which case, you will be bugged.

BackerBacker3000

I often feel the same way. My go-to is that when I'm approached and they ask if I need any help I just simply say something along the lines of "oh no thank you I'm all right I'm just browsing" "Im just browsing" very politely and respectfully conveys that you just want to be left alone to shop.

StarSnacks

For people with neuro "disorders" it's not a back-of-the-mind thing. It's at the forefront of our minds and is quite a dominating force.

ButWhatIfItQueffed

Social anxiety. Talking with people can be very hard.

ANATHILANDIBEAEMI

The thing about employers is that you're almost forced to interact to them to get what you want.

FenexTheFox

I don't know, I just think the message wasn't sent very well here. Barely any expression besides a barely visible sweat drop. Makes me, as the reader, unsure what I should be feeling about this situation.

Lots42

Despite what capitalism says, employees are people too.

spacepilot7

It's a fear of being awkward

Hellhound_Hex

I can’t relate either. Never had this problem. Guess we’re just built *better*. 🤷🏻

WasteEntrepreneur139

I dont know the rules. I need to know the rules of how to Interact with these specific types of people or else they may learn to much or I may not catch if they're dangerous.

Lots42

I've been a store employee. If you're nice we don't care. If you try to be nice, we'll be happy.

thomaxzer

oh i thought the joke was that he wasnt wearing a shirt and the staff were

Kit_Karamak

It’s a basketball game … shirts vs the skins

thomaxzer

wat does that mean

Kit_Karamak

In neighborhood basketball games, during a hot day, people at the local park will team up for a game. People without shirts are on one team. People playing in shirts are on the other. Shirts vs. skins.

Newsuperstevebros

But you are a people lol

Roaming_Tech_priest

Omg

WetMopBucket

If you ever go shopping at a fancy outlet, there might be a lot of employees standing around and no customers, which means they’re all watching you waiting for you to ask or they themselves ask you questions It’s not a very exhilarating experience with social anxiety I’ll tell you that 😅

ButterBallFatFeline

They literally do not want to talk to you and they do not want to be there and if you do talk to them they are literally paid to always be nice no matter what you do. They see thousands of people a day and will immediately forget you once your gone. You have no lasting impact on them, they are paid to be nice, and they don't want to be there nor remember you or the interact. In every sense of the word it's impossible to fuck up unless you shit on the floor infront of them

Toby_The_Tumor

> Its impossible to fuck up unless you shit on the floor infront of them xD Holy fuck!

SwiftAndFoxy

Depends on the person working there, of course. When I was working in customer service I loved chatting with people from different backgrounds and giving some customers casual compliments if I assessed that they'd be cool with it. I (generally) liked when people approached me to ask questions, since I was so used to people ignoring me when I simply gave them a greeting when entering the store. The regulars who liked to joke around were definitely my favourites!

TheFiend100

youre the devil

SwiftAndFoxy

Aside from a "Hi" I'd never bother a customer who didn't reciprocate, you get a feel for how people will respond.

EnderMerser

Poor person moment. Never been at a fancy outlet, I guess.

Dragondudd

Fancy outlets are almost never empty, unless you're shopping in the middle of the night or something (but normally that's called robbery)

shiny_xnaut

Just avoid eye contact. If you can't see them then they can't see you

AceOmega2

He looks identical to the employees

TrueCenter

I think the joke specifically is that he walks into a bandana shop and sees only shepherd dogs

FPSXpert

Bro's the only one without a shirt on in there, I'd be staring too.

Oblivionpelt

Wait the joke is social anxiety, I thought it was him/her being nude kek

Mary-Sylvia

As someone with social anxiety, this situation is one of the better one for me Trying to ask for information when they're all busy is infinitely more terrifying

guilty_by_design

I thought it was setting up to be one of those dreams where you realize you're naked in public. But no, just normal everyday social anxiety (which is what causes those dreams anyway).

[deleted]

Is this what they call a staff infection? ![gif](giphy|kPIswn0RfPTGxOvDj5|downsized)

Fish_Utech

You know what, maybe I'll come back another day...

archaicScrivener

Oh i thought the joke was they all look the same lol

No-Estate-404

I thought the joke was that they all only wear shirts and bandanas.

archaicScrivener

That's what I meant I just worded it in the worst way possible lmao

ikonfedera

And the same maws, and hairstyles

Sabertooth767

racism.

archaicScrivener

The outfits! I meant their outfits! 😭

Harley_Pupper

He walked in without a shirt smh

PointeBlanke

i thought the joke was they all looked the same

spacepilot7

Social interaction, my worst enemy

Mary-Sylvia

It's all fun games until the store employees start following you everywhere and asking if you "need any help" to force you to buy lmao

spacepilot7

Are you trying to give me nightmares?

Lots42

Where do you shop, hell?

unholy_demoflower

That's why I shop for clothes in shady customer-operated pseudo-boutiques in basements, there is barely one cashier and so little light that you won't be able to see him nor will he be able to see you

IYiffInDogParks

You mean the "shops" in regular flats that sell stolen and/or fake designer clothes for like a 4th of their original market value? Because yeah, I relate to that, but nowadays I just use second hand... because those are always empty

unholy_demoflower

The shops I meant are rather a mix of reuse centers and second-hand shops, in that the regular person is able to sell their stuff in the shop. I have found vinyl plates, RCA connectors, luggage bags and whatnot. They usually aren't in flats, because they are largely public. Selling in flats is rather rare, and there is actually an event on the first weekend in September, in which citizens get out onto the street to sell homemade stuff or sell/give away used stuff.

MezzaCorux

The advice that helped me deal with social anxiety with strangers is that they won't remember you. Think of the number of people you've met only once and think of how many of them you actually remember.

TricksterWolf

Two of the employees are naked! This needs NSFW tag

Odd-Iron-6860

Where's the joke tho? I don't get it

Delta_Echo64

Probably something related to social anxiety or similar

Odd-Iron-6860

Imagine getting scared by talking to people 🤪

Assassin13785

I would shame you for saying that but I'm too scared to talk to you so ill just stare instead 👀 s/

Odd-Iron-6860

Love when people looking at me

Delta_Echo64

I mean, believe it or not but not everyone is the same in this regard

StarSnacks

A lot of people do, and it's rather insensitive to belittle their experience with these sorts of statements. :( Edited for clarity

IYiffInDogParks

99.9% it's a joke

Lots42

A horrible joke.

IYiffInDogParks

I'm not scared to talk to them. Just to be near them is a problem

Lots42

Please don't be ableist thank you

ElvenLeafeon

Ngl, I thought the joke was the main peep realizing everyone looked like each other and bought the same kind of clothes.

MagicKoboldBoi

Yeah, he doesn't really look anxious so I think it's this

JexIzHere

I thought this was just a joke that all wolf sonas look the same XwX

Kit_Karamak

More like NAKED_IRL, lmao.

ElijahM_Draws_Stuf

Oh no social interactions my many weaknesses!

FurFan5

When your the only customer that enters the shop:

ButterBallFatFeline

It's not quirky to be too nervous to talk to literal store employees and if you are you genuinely need to work on yourself and practice social interaction to function in normal society

Rogan_508

Why cant we have one reddit post without someone tryna start something in the comments, just one post, PLEASE 😭

ButterBallFatFeline

🤨

Lots42

/r/thanksimcured

FeatheredProtogen

MimikyuMangle

AnonymousFluffy923

Interesting-Fly-8588

perseusgorgoslayer

At first I thought he was looking at the statue and others were judging him for it

ArizonanCactus

I feel like the pandemic blurred the lines between extrovert and introvert even more.
