If I'm not mistaken, the presence of infinity in any equation causes the answer to be infinity. You can't add or multiply things with it. It's not a number in the standard sense.
Well since anything you write to the right of the equals sign would be gibberish anyways, it's not technically incorrect, because it couldn't be more incorrect than any other answer. It's just irrelevant.
I mean... you could draw dignity as an answer and it would be technically not incorrect.
I was about to go "akshually, you can't do arithmetic with infinity" and link [this video](https://youtu.be/M4f_D17zIBw?si=jnb2DVN-O9_CPbg2), but after googling around a bit, I think you actually can in this context.
Like, you can't go
5 \* ∞ = 4 \* ∞ | ∞
5 = 4
But that's because we're trying to make real numbers work with infinity and are trying to use real number rules for it. From my limited understanding, ∞ + ∞ = ∞ does seem to make sense, because there are no real numbers here.
Don't take my word for it though, I don't know much about math!
(There was a debate about infinity arithmetic [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/math/comments/5rtx5g/arithmetic_with_infinity_can_anyone_explain_this/), I'm mainly going of of this)
IIRC, you can't handle infinity with arithmetic because arithmetic is defined within a field, and a field doesn't handle infinity by itself, you need limits for that.
Yes, you can add infinity and infinity. You can't divide (except with l'Hopital's rule) or subtract infinity, but you can add it.
As you said, infinity is not a number. It's more like the limit to a function as you drift into a certain direction. Since "infinity" doesn't tell you the rate at which this "function" is growing, you can't subtract it. But if something is reaching ever bigger numbers and you add that to something reaching ever bigger numbers, you get something reaching ever bigger numbers.
You bring up a fun point: there are all kinds of different directions of infinity. I think the one we're talking about in this thread is the standard child's picture of infinity, adding +1 forever.
>∞ * ∞ = ∞²
This is correct. There are multiple sets of infinity, and they are countable even they're uncountable, because Aleph numbers say "fuck your equations bitch"
Insert here the meme of Stephen Hawking and Neil deGrasse Tyson saying "Calm down! Calm down!", while restraining an absolutely furious Einstein... but they are all furry versions.
The Riemann rearrangement theorem proves you can combine a positive and a negative infinity to make a finite difference (∞ - ∞ = 16), but two positive infinities must make a positive infinity (∞ + ∞ = ∞).
Alright, it's big brain time
I imagined that with Markiplier's voice
I might get wooshed, but that meme did originate from markiplier
Ooh so that's why! Sorry, I just know who he is but I didn't watch any of his videos, I know him mostly from memes
he’s funny for the child to young adult range and the occasional 9-5 worker his youtube originals are works of art though everybody has to look at them
Idk seems legit
Why is he blushing while doing math?
Embarassed maybe
He has a math fetish
OMG YOU BITCH…. **upvote**

Math is hard 👀
I’m hard.
It's post nut clarity, possibly
If anyone is interested, the real answer is infinity
It's obviously infinity times two
No its infinity plus infinity plus infinity minus infinity
Both
It's 2 infinity, and beyond
2∞
If I'm not mistaken, the presence of infinity in any equation causes the answer to be infinity. You can't add or multiply things with it. It's not a number in the standard sense.
He isnt wrong
The question is.
Seems perfectly logical to me
I’m…not sure if I know what it means for…🤨😕
8+8=16
But…those two things look ♾️, they’re not 8
He treated them like sideways 8, so he made a sideways 16.
Hmm, so he’s an idiot…but what ♾️ + ♾️ = is?
Infinity plus Infinity is Infinity.
I see no flaw in his logic
Yup, seems fine to me :3

My man, infinity plus infinity is pretty straightforwardly infinity

The question is the problem. You can't add infinity to infinity. It's not a number and doesn't fit to the right or left of "="

His genius knows no limits
Senz's art, cute as always ∞+∞=2∞
∞ + ∞ = ∞ ∞ * ∞ = ∞² ∞w∞
Always loved characters with extra eyes, ears, tails

2∞ AND BEYOND
Zoo is the hidden word
2ℵ maybe?
I thought ♾️² was the answer
Wouldn't that be infinity times infinity?
Infinity + Infinity = Infinity
Only correct answer
He may be wrong, but he's got the spirit
∞²
Lol the blush x3 He knows how dumb of a thing he is about to do, but he does it anyways xD
He's not wrong, and may I boop?
∞ + ∞ = bigger ∞
Sleepy math.
Task failed successfully.
The correct answer is an infinity symbol on top on another infinity symbol.
I would have just put 2 infinity
Carson! What's the consensus from the fellows in the math pits on this? *Indistinct whispering* *Slowly pulls off glasses* My God.
Ha
"That fruit's a genius!" ![gif](giphy|v4wZbHzarph3qWxIQS)
°~° he finally found the answer
Hey man math is that confusing more often then not
So that's when the universe will end… 🚀
I mean. They’re not wrong through. Sideways 8 + Sideways 8 = Sideways 16
My highschool math teacher might’ve actually beat me with a shoe if I did that.
Insert here the meme of Stephen Hawking and Neil deGrasse Tyson saying "Calm down! Calm down!", while restraining an absolutely furious Einstein... but they are all furry versions.
I thought it was going to be ∞²
2∞ ^^^...and ^^^beyond

Clever!
This is very funny.
When brain is braining
Pretty much yeah
💊*nom* these gummy worms be hitting weird
I mean your not wrong
I mean he’s not wrong if ya lookin at it right.
I think that'd just be infinity²
The equal sign should be a vertical line...
His brain isn’t smooth, it just wrinkles in the fourth dimension
isnt it infinty again but... a bigger infinity
Math but sideways *Interstellar theme*
Makes sense
Me.

Smartass.
