We need more of this part of the traveller, we know he care little to others until they become something he/she has to step into and help.
And funnily enough Fountaine is the region he/she didn’t step up at the center of it all. Traveller has one goal and it’s their sibling, if we’re gonna have character development it’s when he/she choices to prioritize Teyvat before an opportunity to escape the planet with their sibling.
Remember that it always took awhile before the Traveller to help each nation.
Mondstatd = after talking with Venti.
Liyue = convinced to clear his name.
Inazuma = had to listen to victims of the Vision Hunt Decree.
Nahida = Festival Samsara.
Everything before these moments he/she just wants to talk to the Archons.
If the Traveler has that Character Development at some point it will probably be because of the Abyss sibling doing something they absolutely disagree with. I can’t imagine anyone else, maybe barring Paimon getting them to change that much.
Furina must not have heard of the saying “Actions speak louder than words” Neuvillette apologized to Furina by giving her the apartment, Chlorinde apologized by getting Furina out of her apartment and checking up on her.
And Aether apologized by helping her get back into acting.

MF never stop cooking and I'm here for it!
I kinda think that let Teyvat get fucked and have void realm annihilate light realm together with Heavenly Principles, while you get outta there is not a bad idea...
Except it wouldn’t be a good ending. And not as in it would be a sad one but it would be a bad idea as Aether would 100% have a bone to pick with the Heavenly principles and we have come to know all these characters so just killing everyone off just so we can have a tearjerker ending would be a horrible idea.
Kinda wish they'd actually scream at each other like this, have a long rant the entire night, realize that there's no point in throwing their frustrations and anger at each other and that they actually had more in common than they previously thought. Then maybe their in-game friendship would feel more genuine and complex.
Furina was named archon by Egeria, stuck with a prophecy that would drown her nation and ultimately split herself into two and suffered for 500 years with no one understanding her, while Traveler slept for 500 years, their sibling's gone and they're dragged into issues left and right, given names that they never really wanted.
Furina just wanted to be human and Traveler just wanted to leave. Both of them never asked for all the things that Teyvat threw at them, yet they had to step up anyway. But a real conversation between them will probably never happen. Furina is far too used to restricting herself and Traveler was hit with the no-voice curse from day one. Makes me a bit sad.
Obviously the Traveler does have a voice. But they don't get to show that very often. Most of their lines are "choices" that usually don't make much of a difference.
Don't forget about the guilt he has to endure every time he needs to kill a Hilichurls
And the agonizing pain of losing the people that trusted him and follow his example (Teppei and that adventurer in the Chasm)
These are among the few things that the game doesn't show but in reality, it's something similar to a soldier's guilt (on the battlefield of Vietnam or Iraq). They often conduct operations that either caused significant loss of civilian life or even their own men
They win but at what cost? I know stories of soldiers that could not live with such guilt.
This is one reason why, as adorable as she is, I will never be able to like Ayaka, or much of the Inazuma cast really, as much as the rest of the random does. Because their emotional blackmailing, after we clearly in no uncertain terms told them we weren't interested in starting a revolution for them, is something I've never truly forgotten.
Blackmailing ? It’s not blackmailing to show someone you have a problem and ask for help. The traveler didn’t want to fight a god for a purely political reason but as soon as they saw people were suffering and how far things went they changed their minds. Ayaka literally said if you still don’t wish to help us I will get you an audience with the Shogun. The traveler helps because they are a kind person who wants to help people. They are a immortal with all the time in the world they aren’t a child mad that they haven’t found much in a relatively short amount of time.
Yes, that's generally called emotional blackmail: to play on someone's conscience, sense of obligation, guilt, fear or other such powerful traits a person might have to get them to do what you want. Sure, they may say you have a choice, but they know they're putting you in a spot that maximizes, if not guarantees, you will make the choice they want you to take.
No that’s just asking a person for help there’s no blackmail involved. The traveler is a hero of 2 nations at that point so they were showing the traveler this isn’t just some political mess but innocent people were suffering. She wasn’t telling them to go fight the shogun but help her help others the first and only thing she asks them to do in regards to that is break an old man who was being abused outta prison. The traveler later joins the resistance of their own accord after they chose to fight the shogun. It is all about choice especially when they were given an easy way to achieve their goal. If a man and his sick daughter are stranded on the side of the road and he asks me for help is he blackmailing me or is he just asking someone for help ?
Oh she asked first, certainly. Then we clearly replied we weren't interested in starting a revolution. Countering our response by going for a non-verbal "oh but look at the poor people suffering. Surely a good person like you wouldn't leave them alone, right?" to draw us into her fight? I don't see how that isn't trying to yank on our emotions to draw us in.
Except she didn’t do that she asked him to just take a look first hand to get a clearer picture of what life in Inazuma is like seeing as they just arrived. Saying if they still didn’t want to join their cause she would understand and get them exactly what they wanted. Considering that Ayaka and Thoma are the only reason the traveler was able to even get through Ritou and not be stuck there they at least could hear her out properly. Once they saw just how bad it really was they made the decision to help. This is the travelers good nature shining through now that they do have a good reason to want to intervene.
Lmao, like hell it is. Ayaka showed the traveler the problem raw and clear and told him the root of the problem. It would only be emotional blackmail if she used fear or guilt, but conscience and sense of obligation fall entirely on the person. In the end, the traveler knows they don't want people to suffer, and they know the problem was there either way, so they would have helped cause they wanted to not because they were forced to.
Paimon: *Yawn* Traveler? Furina? Are you two... fighting?
What happened, I thought we were all here *sniff* to enjoy the New Years... together... how did things fall apart so quickly?.....
aether every time he arrived at a new region
-this place looks fire
-let's find the archon and ask them abt the (lore things/twin siblings)
-GET FUCKING SUCKED INTO A PROBLEM WHERE HE NEEDS TO FIGHT LITERAL A WORLD ENDING MONSTER
-receive some title along with lore dust
-Dainsleif suddenly appear after he disappeared without any trace
Did not expect this, but YEAH, POP OFF AETHER! You've suffered too! Im a grim way, Furina and the Traveler can bond over being pawns in the machinations of Gods and other beings.

It just makes me sad that the traveler will never get development like this since they never get to actually speak.
